This is my boomstick!!!!

Love that tactic with gifting a junk city to get him to friendly. Did Mehmed start the war? If so, then he is maybe tanking the SoD of Hatty and Roosie. We should now stay in war mode as we are getting closer to rifling. We have to conquer the island soon. Looking forward to the report. Banking and economics stolen, nice :D Too bad we had to gift gunpowder for the war. Is Mehmed on tech parity now?

Forgot my notes at home so just a few points from memory.

1) Mehmed JUST came up to friendly this turn. I made one trade with him (paper=HBR and Lit +gold).
2) Mehmed is NOT at war. That trade screen is just and option. The next player will have to decide if/when to bribe.
3)Mehmed is not at parity with us even if we bribe him in. We will have Education and PP up on him, he has med and drama on us.
4) Roosy has not been scary. I believe I have only lost 3 cats, 1 Treb, an Axeman, and a Pikeman so far while killing around 15 units. Warring with him will be a long slow slog but I don't think he will ever really threaten us.
5) I have seen only a single skimisher from mali, hatty could have a SOD coming at us but I bet she is weak.
6) Our economy is doing ok. I have put some of our SW cities on Wealth duty.
7) Happiness is an issue. The enemy has emancipation.
8) We have a Great General and a spare old chariot converging for a Supermedic.
9) Sorry If I left any reinforcememts on multi-turn movements toward the front.
10) Our workers were on build useless roads mode for most of my Turnset.
11) I think settling the Rice/Copper spot right east of London is fine now.

Sounds good. If Mehmed is not at war then I don't want to give him gunpowder yet. Good thing we have lit now. We could start the NE in London now. Supermedic sounds good and then we can start the HE in Canterbury maybe. I will shut up now and wait for the report :) And then I will check the save. Cheers.

I would not put NE in london, it is strapped for food anyway. Tourqey is running the most specialists I believe. Canterbury or hastings both ok HE spots.

I didnt feel alot of pressure during the war so we may be ok without Mehmed DOW on Roosy. Plus it may just strengthen Mehmed before we DOW him later.

I do support the techs for Peace plan i talked about earlier though, no diplo penalty for multiple DOW's.

All's looking good! Nice buncha turns, Cree.

We're good with any :gp: out of Torquay provided we don't take too long to get Replaceable Parts as most will then prioritise the 'non-beeline'; Chemistry (or Meditation). I'd not be upset with another Great Spy. Speaking of which, do we really only have two Spies left??? 'What the what?' ;)

Super-Medic's fine by me.

I'd not object to Serfdom > Caste if anyone put that forward.

Yes woop you are up :)

About the techs for peace. I suggest we at least conquer two more Japanese cities before doing that. Going North and then to mid to take Tokyo. Tokyo is a good price with so many matured cottages. And if we can get Kyoto that would even be better.

Going from serfdom to caste soon is ok by me. I guess we do want a swtich to:
1) Caste
2) Merc or free market. Merc has my preference with rep and some extra merchants everywhere.
3) Theo/pacifism. My vote goes to theo since we are in war mode. And we are not going to spawn that many GP. Edit: we don't have philo yet so only theo is available.

How many turns untill we get the next GP?

Roster:
Woop (you are up)
Killroy (on deck)
Cam_H
Cree (just played)

If we are going to do those civic switches, shall we burn our GP on a GA? Also, I think I would like to set the research slider to 0% after RP is in to prolong Rifling and the subsequent Mehmed DoW. Is that allowed in the rules?

Woop, let the science slider role as long as we get rifling. Only after Nationalism we have to make a switch so we can draft. Even when we get it we need to draft 5 turns before declaring war on everybody so that is a lot of turns before we get there. If we stay in warmode we can conquer Roosie and Hatty normally pretty quickly. And after that Mehmed is going down.

For nationalism we need CS and philo and as far as I know we do not have philo yet (we need med for that :D). Or CS and Divine Right. So after rifling we need to get at least a couple of more techs. I bet though we can beg meditation from Mehmed now he is friendly.

About the great person, I would like to use it too for a golden age but only if it is a GP that does not lead us towards rifling. If it bulbs RP or rifling then we have to do it. Otherwise we can do whatever we see fit.

Supermedic: Yes pls.

Spies: Well we got banking and economics. It appears it was at the cost of a lot of spies :)

Just checked the save and things do look good. If we conquer the Japanese and the Mali we will own almost every wonder in the world. Thanks for building that guys. Japan has dropped to 1,1 so they are a pushover now to be honest. We could split the forces a bit. The northern stack could go up and the middle stack towards Tokyo and then Kyoto.

Research wise we are finally making some progress. RP is in in 2 turns. Rifling will take a bit longer but I suggest to get everything in place asap. We need our continent otherwise the battle with the other continent will be hard and we do not have any ships yet :) Lets hope the others do not make contact soon. The thing about our tech rate is that we might be facing an advanced island. On the other hand, we do have every wonder on our island so they might not be that advanced at all.

Woop, you are up and do not forget to beg meditation from Mehmed. There is no way he is going to refuse that. We just gave him a city :D

And pasture the sheep again at Oxford. It got demolished. Overall we might want to settle fur city, just for the extra hapiness. We will need that.

Is the forbidden palace in Coventry maybe a good idea. If we fire some of the scientists over there we can build it in 9 turns. Will save a lot in upkeep.

the spies had a strange turn, three got caught just standing there doing nothing!

I am confidnet ours is the more advanced continent. Roosy is teching very well, got liberalism, we dont have emacipation penalty from the other continent yet, AND none of them have optics to come met us. All of that tells me Roosy/Hattty are the world wide tech leaders.

I have no problems 'gaming' our unique rules to delay nationalism so that we can war longer against Roosy/Hatty without backstabbing Mehmed.

I dont really want a golden age. Great Priest=Christian shrine for more than 11 gpt. Great spy could steal us more techs. Strangly I am most inclined to vote for GA if we get a GScientist.

Civics wise we are in Rep/buero/serf/Freemarket/OR. IF we get a GA then I would vote for a specialist civics economy= Rep/Buero/Caste/Mercantilism/Theo. If no GA then just

The spy catching thing is because Roosevelt has increased his spy points by a lot and thus increasing the chance of catching a spy. Bad luck I guess. It happens. Rifling should be in asap so we get our invincible red coats mwuhahahahaha. Then prolonging nationalism is ok with me.

Ok. Great input guys. My own lack of imagination of what may occur typically lends me to giving skimpy PPP's. I will take everything into consideration and have a deeper look at the save and post a battle plan in a few hours. Going to try and play tonight.

My proposal for a PPP:

1) Western stack in Nagasaki goes north to get the other seaside city. Middle stack gets the reinforcements and healer chariot and marches toward Tokyo. Then if possible push on to Kyoto. Great wonders there.
2) Tech rifling asap but prolong nationalism untill we have Roosie and Hatty in the bag.
3) Build money multipliers where necessary. Get courthouses were necessary.
4) Await GP and see if you can burn it for a golden age, unless it is a priest for a shrine or a great spy for an infiltration mission.

Thanks Killroyan. that looks like what I had in mind . We have two SoD's. One will move up the Western coast while the other moves North. I propose to raze that West Coast city and resettle 1S to get the fish there. With regards military builds, I think a handful of knights that can get to the battlefront quickly is definitely in order. So I will build a few of those until Rifling is in. I will also beg med from Mehmed, getting a 10 turn peace treaty and Turnset timer :D

Sounds good Woop. Have a good turnset :)

Nagasaki's got the Fish in its 20 tile radius. I'd personally keep Nagoya which already also has Rice, so it's not food-poor.

Note also that we're not far from another Great General - I lean toward settling the second in Canterbury or Hastings, but can live with another super-medic (Scout?) if felt necessary.

I agree on no razing. At this stage of the game a developed but sub-optimal city is better than starting over.

If we get a GE, any clue if there is something worth rushing? Forbideen palace maybe?

Looking at our 1370AD save, Nagoya seems to be a fairly well built up city - if we could take the city with even half of the the non-cultural buildings standing, it would be advantageous. It's riverside, got a food resource, and a couple of Plains Hills - I've seen worse.

Good question on the Great Engineer - I'd suggest merging them into London (Representation, Bureaucracy) rather than using on a 200:hammers: or 250:hammers: National Wonder, but I'll 'go with the flow'. I can't see any prospective World Wonders on the horizon for quite a while, assuming The Statue of Liberty's as good as gone (Hatshepsut already has Democracy). We could consider West Point or Ironworks 'down the track' I guess if it either were felt to be worth the wait. Of course, we need to get Replaceable Parts finished before or on the turn of the Great Person 'pop' due to the variant rules. I am assuming a Great Scientist will build an Academy in London.

Start by begging meditation:

I set our cities with anger in them to shrink while focusing on production rather than food. Troops are being garrisoned in Canterbury so I can assemble the SoD. The Southern chariot is also brought up for super medic promo time.

RP comes in and Rifling is next...

capture2zh.png

We are bleeding cash and will have to turn the science down a little though I'm afraid.

I make a little deal:

capture3uj.png

Archimides (GE) is born and a GA begins!

Out of the blue, THE WARHORNS SOUND!! IS IT MEHMED?!?!?!:eek::eek:

Nope:
capture4db.png

A few cats (about 4) are suicided at Nagoya and the city is taken without additional loss.

capture6t.png

I also join our GG to the chariot that made it to Canterbury and promoted him but no medic promo's were forthcoming. Did I do something wrong?

Geronimo was born in the meantime and I decide to send him to the other stack for additional promo. I also make some civic switches to help the war machine along:

capture5d.png

Mehmed's SoD of *severely* outdated units assemble outside Kagoshima and I decide that enough troops had assembled and I had best move if I wanted to grab that city. So I do. I move them out of Canterbury.

Hatty decides she hates me worst of all even though we haven't gotten to crushing her yet and she also breaks free from Roosy.

WW is becoming problematic.

Rifling is in:

capture7u.png

I queued Drama for culture slider.

Some units are ambushed from the fog and lost. Kagoshima is taken after I bombard it down and lose faith, deciding to stay the attack to get the cats that bombarded ready to suicide .

Very sorry for that :smoke:

I hand over the game with 2 turns left on the GA. I think I may have made some stupid moves with the GG's as none of them got the medic promo option. I am really unsure what went wrong...
