This is my boomstick!!!!

We are generating 57 esp per turn already. We can steal cheap stuff like optics and music which cost about 500 esp per tech. With the already accumulated esp on Hatse and 10 more turns of war we can already steal them. 20-30 more turns and we can steal coorp. Etc... I think it will pay off. Do we already have the forbidden palace? If not, is Kyoto a good option?

About the summary I have never seen something like that to be honest so my curiosity is sparked. If it is not too much work then go for it, I am interested.

Fair enough on espionage - if we can make it work, then 'great'.

We haven't made progress on the Forbidden Palace (or National Epic). Happy to entertain thoughts. I have Canterbury in mind for Ironworks.

Nice video Cam. Good to know how you sound ;) Learned some stuff again. Or let say remembered. World wonders kick in right away when you conquer a city which is nice. We needed the notre dame badly.

I agree on taking on the southern part first to secure the borders. That SoD of Mehmed is pretty scary to be honest. 30 units but not the strongest ones. If we can get it to come out and we can hit it with our siege we should be fine. If he hits us, mmmmmm........

About the NE city. There will be one really big GP farm and that is the Byzantine capital. If you ask me we should get the NE and Wall street up there. That city has 2 wet corn, bananas and 2 sugar. I cannot understand why Mehmed is so backwards. Although his junkcities would be a good explanation. Norwich is ok to keep with the silver, but the other 2 SE cities should be razed asap. And then work our way up. There is an abundance of trebs on the way and we got cities we can draft over there.

About ironworks in Canterbury, we could also plant that one in Kyoto. And then the Forbidden palace next there. It helps with the cultural pressure and Kyoto can have a few more base hammers then Canterbury. However, Canterbury is up and running. I agree on using the GE for that one. It will help us enormously with the battle.

Roosie has made contact with the other island though. We have knowledge of judaism but there is no city with it, so Roosie or Hatse has made contact. Roosies top cities are nice too btw. We can get silver and there are whales up there. I would also like to get the fur city up. We need the happies badly.

Overall I will say it again, we are in good shape. Get the southern cities of Mehmed. If we get his SoD then wipe him out. If we do not get it, then make peace and finish of Roosie and Hatse asap. Focus spy points on Hatse as these will increase fast enough with our newly conquered cities (+35 esp easily) so we should be able to steal something from her. We can also trade RP for liberalism and 405 gold but I don't know if that is the right thing to do.

Roy - I'd personally not trade-away Replaceable Parts right now.

Cree - I don't want to be the one to 'call it', but I agree that things are looking promising. We're still vulnerable to a Mehmed SoD appearing out of the dark, but once Cannons are in the mix and we're able to get a few of them together, we 'should' be OK. The more I look at it, the more I regret not moving our Spy into Mehmed's turf to act as a look-out for anything threatening.

I agree with your earlier sentiment that the other continent is probably quite backward technologically on the basis of what we've seen to date.

Yes ... your turn. :)

Roster:

Cree (Up)
Woop (on deck)
Killroy
Cam_H (just played)

And yes on moving that spy into byzantine territory :)

played half my turnset. tired but a few highlights

1) mehmed has grenadiers ...war is much harder but still winning
2) first cannons coming online
3)met other continent..Bismark lord of Ragnar is backward, made a trade for optics and music and he is pleased.
4)started teching steam power
5) captured two byzantine cities..lost one. at 1.1x his power. poised to capture 2 cities in next 2 turns.
6) our spy was scouting...captured.

Gets out the popcorn! Exciting!

Thankfully Redcoats start out with +25% vs Gunpowder, and we can add the Pinch promotion to many of them as there were plenty who had unused promotions, so we're back to level pegging to an extent if it's still Redcoats against Grenadiers. Nonetheless, not the unit we want to see too many of if we're relying on Redcoats. Cannons, I'm sure, will help a lot, as will Infantry in time.

don't forget the bonus works only on offense. if you have cannons there is good chance that cannon will defend against gren.

That is why a few combat II canons are always good stack protectors :)

Nope, I often use canons with Combat II as stack protectors since they do not take collateral damage. With combat II they also have better chances against grenadiers. Or am I making a mistake over here? You got me doubting myself Cam :p

would be very surprised if combat promo is available for siege

Ok, I must be mistaken then but I am sure I have had canons and artillery upgraded in the combat line. Propably from the event then where the canons get Combat 1.

Or I must be suffering from brainfreeze, too much overtime at work and signs of korsakoff combined :p If you guys say so, then I am clearly wrong but I am worried about why I think this is possible hehe.

Korsakoff's syndrome? Maybe? Maybe not ... I'll have to drink about it. ;)

You're quite right - there's the Rifled Cannons event that does open the Combat line of promotions to Cannons. :)

Was it possible in vanilla and warlords to upgrade canons and artillery then with the Combatpromotions? I had a screwed up version on my laptop which couldn't be updated also. Maybe that is the reason. God, I am going mad.

Cree, where is the update? Lets change the subject ;)

ok finished my turnset. It was fun and I sorta didnt want to stop!

Mehmed has been a very stubborn foe. Kagoshima has traded hands several times, its hills are soaked in blood. I killed at least 35 enemy units there. Laociona was also recaptured by the enemy; the city was utterly destroyed by the fight to finally conquer it.

Mehmeds army in the south is finished; hopeless garrisons and desperate bandits.

To the north he still fields considerable forces but thier movements are becoming disorganized and desperate.

Status of the Lands:

1) Happiness is not an issue; our citis are small now.
2) We have a Great Engineer sleeping. I would save him for Enginnering Corp.
3) We have TWO great generals. I would save them for military academies
4) We just teched Steam Power and have coal. Railroad qued for next Tech
5)Bismark would galdly trade us liberalism and military science...I say go for it!
6) Some cities are starving.
7) Some cities are building wealth, review our ques.
