This is my boomstick!!!!

I have to agree with vranasm on this issue. Considering we already have a settler on hand to settle the gold/oasis spot, getting horses pastured and 6 chariots out should take too long. Also bear in mind that we have a worker roading to the site as well so getting the chars there won't take very long...

None of them will plot war at 'Pleased', so if we go for a religious 'lovefest', we might be OK.

We should be able to 'save our own bacon' once we hit Gunpowder (Musketmen), but I agree that a DoW would be 'worrisome' to say the least if we haven't yet traded for decent military tech's.

Thanks for the tip, vran' - makes some sense, and they do make better spawnbusters than Warriors as well (assuming we actually do want to spawnbust rather than let the Barb's build our cities for us).

We really should get two more Settlers out pretty promptly nonetheless I'd suggest, for far east and north.

Do we have time for The Pyramids?

Do we have time for the pyramids? Of course not, but we will make time for it. We like the shinies and it is monarch so we still could have a shot at it.

We have our initial expansion up and running. We would need a production city to get the chariots out and we need cowgold city up. Will check the save tonight to see what is the best PPP. Checked in and in short:

1) Settler from York to goldencowoasis
2) York finishes library and gets another settler out
3) Capital finishes settler. Gets worker and tries to get pyramids or library.
4) Goldencowoasis should start on library asap. Roading worker improves cow and gold.
5) Settler from capital gets pig horse city up and builds only chariots
6) Settler from York goes east to get the proposed site from Cam and hopefully we can get the barb city.

Discussion time.

IIRC York has some hammers that can help getting chars out as well. If we are going to wait until we settle HorseCity, then we may lose the barb city. I would rather get existing settler to Gold/Oasis and get Cap to build another worker while horses gets pastured and roaded by the worker near the Cap so we can start getting out (at least) six chariots to attack the barbarians.

We are at happy cap in the Capital so this would be a good settler/worker pump until we secure more :) resources. WRT the mids, maybe once the Cap gets out the current settler plus another worker then switch to mids.

DISCLAIMER: I am working from memory as I do not have access to the game right now.

That is about my plan, Woop. Good to see we have some consensus :) Yorks settler is ready and can go to goldencowoasis. Settler in cap is in 7 turns or so? As said in my PPP after settler another worker from cap there. The existing worker should improve gold/cow. Actually if we hook up the horses then golden cow could go on chariot duty after library?

Can you confirm whether we have 1 or 2 workers? IIRC there are 2. 1 is roading gold/cow and another is near the cap building something (cottage I think). As soon as the builder is finished, send him to improve the Horses.

Both Workers are building roads ... one toward the Horses as requested by others on the roster and the lurker ... [it wouldn't be my choice (grumble grumble ;))], and the other to the Gold-Cows site.

CreeDakota's suggestion of the two shared Cottages between York and London is a goodie imho, and I'd support that move.

Same about the cottages.

Roster:
Cree
Cam
Woop (you're up)
Killroy (standing ready)

Both Workers are building roads ... one toward the Horses as requested by others on the roster and the lurker ... [it wouldn't be my choice (grumble grumble ;))}

Why the grumble? Without the roads, we will not have chariots. Without a bunch of chariots, we won't have the barb city...

Instead of building a library at the Gold city, shouldn't I rather get a monument up for earlier border pops? If everyone is happy with what has been discussed so far, I can play in a few hours. Alternatively, make your case as to any changes...

The Barb' city isn't going anywhere. I'd land-grab and keep the Barb's sitting there for a while yet. Still, I'm a team player. :)

I'm fine with a Monument in the new city (Nottingham?) while the tiles are being developed and the city grows.

Best of luck!

hmm I hope I didn't said throw away everything and just aim for 6 chariots and capture the barb city...

What I had in mind was something along this:

1) the horse can be connected with worker, not needed to use city there yet (even if you eventually will settle there)
2) you need some forces to check the barb city area and eventually capture it
3) expand expand expand, you're behind ;-)

If I remember right my shadow I used city 3 for pumping army of chariots for the barb city and the barb cities (oops did i said multiple cities were gained?) were something like city 7, 8 and 10

OI agree with Cam, the Barb city can wait. But either way is really not a Big difference. Keep building settlers...building settlers....building settlers.

Why christianity? If this angers Mehmed into a DOW were toast? OR only helps us with wonders and infastructure anyway....what we need is workers and settlers.

EDIT: I will be on vacation until 6/24; if my turn comes up before then please skip me.

Enjoy your vacation Cree!!!!

So I played. Built Nottingham (Cow/Gold/Oasis^2). Roaded and built the pasture.

In turn 5, Mehmed made an arrogant demand:

Which I declined...

I hit enter and Hatty makes a request which I accept:

Theology comes in;

and in York:

Paper is up next.

The settler is in Nottingham and horses are hooked up. Capital is working on mids and York another worker. Monument should be up soon. I moved the settler there since I didn't know where we would be settling next.

Here is the save:

Looking good Woop. Pyramids can be in in 25 turns. I have to say I am a bit hesitant right now as my preference at this moments leans more towards expansion (yes I know, make up your mind :p). There is an abundance of good land to be settled. I really hope somebody techs alphabet soon. I want phant city up and running.

PPP:
1) Capital stays on mids.
2) York finishes worker -> settler
3) Golden cow: Monument -> chariots
4) 4th city goes to? Most eastern site Cam proposed?

Killroyan,

Thanks for the PPP.

1) It's bold, but 'yep', let's take our chances.
2) Yes. We should look at that northern spot you pointed out.
3) Monument > Chariot > Settler/Worker
4) I'd be happy to go with that far east spot, but it'll need a Worker (Gold Mine and Rice Farm asap) and obviously we don't want it/them to die on their travels, so the proposed Nottingham Chariot will need to be produced for this purpose (unless that Warrior can do an extraordinary job at chaperoning them). I'd not move the Settler more than one tile out of our borders until it's covered by the Chariot.

[Edit] I'd consider opening borders with Mehmed - I think we should aim to get him to 'Pleased'. [/Edit]
