So here are new beginnings :

Beginnings
Chicago

When I'm with you, it doesn't matter where we are,
Or what we're doing. I'm with you, that's all that matters.
Time passes much too quickly when we're together laughing.
I wish I could sing it to you, oh no,
I wish I could sing it to you.
Mostly I'm silent.
Never think about words to say.

When I kiss you, I feel a thousand different feelings.
I'm covered with chills all over my body.
And while I feel them, I quickly try to decide which one
I should try to put into words, oh no,
Try to put into words.
Mostly I'm silent.

Only the beginning of what I want to feel forever.
Only the beginning. Only just the start.
I've got to get you into my life.
Got to get you next to me.
Only the beginning. Only just the start

We Are The Champions
By Queen

I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions

Well, I guess two songs, though I am in a rather depressive mood.

Time- Pink Floyd, DSOTM

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for soemone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to nought or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Self-Esteem- Offspring

I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practice all the things I would say
But she came over
I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert
Now I know I'm being used
That's okay man cause I like the abuse
I know she's playing with me
That's okay cause I got no self esteem
We make plans to go out at night
I wait till 2 then I turn out the light
All this rejection's got me so low
If she keeps it up I just might tell her so
CHORUS
When she's saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
Right? Yeah yeah yeah
Now I'll relate this little bit
That happens more than I'd like to admit
Late at night she knocks on my door
Drunk again and looking to score
Now I know I should say no
But that's kind of hard when she's ready to go
I may be dumb
But I'm not a dweeb
I'm just a sucker with no self esteem
CHORUS

i was listening the first jeff buckley - sketches for my sweetheart the drunk cd when heard this song and it was so incredible beautiful. why had i not heard it before? it so calm and comfortable, like an afterparty a swedish summer night. must be the beautiest song i ever heard.

jeff buckley - everybody here wants you.

twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile,
coffee smell and lilac skin, your flame in me.
twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile,
coffee smell and lilac skin, your flame in me.

i'm only here for this moment.
i know everybody here wants you.
i know every body here thinks he needs you
i'll be waiting right here just to show you
how our love will blow it all away.

such a thing of wonder in this crowd,
i'm a stranger in this town, you're free with me.
and our eyes locked in downcast love,
i sit here proud, even now
you're undressed in your dreams with me.

i'm only here for this moment.
i know everybody here wants you.
i know everybody here thinks he needs you.
i'll be waiting right here just to show you.
how our love will blow it all away.

i know the tears we cried have dried on yesterday
the sea of fools has parted for us there's nothing in our way, my love
don't you see, don't you see?
you're just the torch to put the flame to all our guilt and shame,
and i'll rise like an ember in your name.

you know i, you know i,
i know everybody here wants you.
i know everybody here thinks he needs you.
i'll be waiting right here just to show you.
let me show you that love can rise, rise just like embers.

love can taste like the wine of the ages, babe.
and i know they all looks so good from a distance,
but i tell you i'm the one.

i know everybody here thinks he needs you,
think he needs you
and i'll be waiting right here just to show you.

The Beatles "I'm only Sleeping"

When I wake up early in the morning
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream)

Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where I am - I'm only sleeping

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy
I don't mind, I think they're crazzy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find there's no need (there's no need)

Please, don't spoil my day, I'm miles away
And after all I'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

Lying there and staring at the ceiling
Waiting for a sleepy feeling...

(solo)

Please, don't spoil my day, I'm miles away
And after all I'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

When I wake up early in the morning
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream)

Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where I am - I'm only sleeping

BlackBird
The Beatles

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Two of us
The Beatles

[I dig a Pygmy by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf Aids... Phase One in which Doris gets her oats.]

Two of us riding nowhere
Spending someone's
Hard earned pay
You and me Sunday driving
Not arriving
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home

Two of us sending postcards
Writing letters
On my wall
You and me burning matches
Lifting latches
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home

You and I have memories
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead

Two of us wearing raincoats
Standing so low
In the sun
You and me chasing paper
Getting nowhere
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home

You and I have memories
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead

Two of us wearing raincoats
Standing so low
In the sun
You and me chasing paper
Getting nowhere
On our way back home
We're on our way home
We're on our way home
We're going home

We're going home
Better believe it

No one can surpass the Smashing Pumpkins!!
i love them

BIlly Corgan is cooler than your mum!!

here the lyrics for

WOUND

there you are
as you always were
in bathing light
and naked blur
you're a part of me
eternal wone
my grand design
and setting sun

if you wait, i will wait
taste, i will taste
if you love, i will love
run, i will run
to my last breath

last night i turned around and thought i saw myself turning
inside the strangest dream of life unloved and cities burning

awake in my arms
you cry unharmed
our age of the hours
when they still devour all

so take it all
i doubt if we
will know it's gone
cause we've been here
since time began
begged god awake
and make these plans

wound opens
reveal this broken man
and soon there's notions
of blood on his hands

if you wait, i will wait
taste, i will taste
if you love, i will love
run, i will run
to my last breath

last night i turned around, i thought i saw myself turning
last night i turned around and thought i watched the world ending
inside the crushing i felt a pang, the tide was turning

destroyed in the wake
the jealous ingrates
will tear this world down
to spite god above
with his own love
with his own love
if you wait
if you wait

if you wait, i will wait
taste, i will taste
if you love, i will love
run, i will run
to my last breath

"Echoes"--Pink Floyd

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
and deep beneath the rolling waves
in labyrinths of coral caves
the echo of a distant time comes willowing across the sand
and everything is green and submarine

And no one showed us to the land
and no one knows the wheres or whys
but something stirs and something tries
to slowly climb towards the light....

Strangers passing in the street
by chance two separate glances meet
and I am you and what I see is me
And do I take you by the hand
and lead you through the land
and help me understand the best I can

And no one calls us to move on
and no one forces down our eyes
and no one speaks and no one tries
and no one flies around the sun....

Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes
inviting and inciting me to rise
and through the window in the wall
come streaming in on sunlight wings
a million bright ambassadors of morning

And no one sings me lullabies
and no one makes me close my eyes
and so I throw the windows wide
and call to you across the sky....

"Fearless"--Pink Floyd

You say the hill's too steep to climb, climbing
you say you'd like to see me try, climbing
you pick the place and I'll choose the time
and I'll climb the hill in my own way
just wait awhile for the right day
and as I rise above the treeline and the clouds
I'll look down, hear the sound
of the things you've said today

Fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd, smiling
merciless the magistrate turns round, frowning
and who's the fool who wears the crown
no doubt in your own way
and everyday is the right day
and as you rise above the fear-lines in his brow
you look down, hear the sound of the faces in the crowd

Question
The Moody Blues (written by Justin Hayward)

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?
'Cos when we stop and look around us,
There is nothing that we need,
In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed.

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the war of love is for

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be

And when you stop and think about it
You won't believe it's true
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you.

I'm looking for someone to change my life,
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me,
To lose the love I knew
Could safely lead me through.

Between the silence of the mountains,
And the crashing of the sea,
There lies a land I once lived in,
And she's waiting there for me,
But in the grey of the morning,
My mind becomes confused,
Between the dead and the sleeping,
And the road that I must choose.

I'm looking for someone to change my life,
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me,
To lose the love I knew,
Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew,
To learn as we grow old
The secrets of our soul.

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?
'Cos when we stop and look around us,
There is nothing that we need,
In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed.

The Way It Is
By: Bruce Hornsby & The Range

Standing in line, marking time
Waiting for the welfare dime
'Cause they can't find a job
The man in the silk suit hurries by
As he catches the poor horrible ladies' eyes
Just for fun he says: "Get a job"

That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
Ah, but don't you believe them

They said: "Hey little boy, you can't go where the others go
'Cause you don't look like they do"
They said: "Hey old man, how can you stand to think that way
Did you really think about it before you made the rules"
He said: Son

That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
Ah, but don't you believe them

Mmm, yeah

(That's just the way it is)
(That's just the way it is)

Well, they passed a law in '64
To give those who ain't got a little more
But it only goes so far
'Cause the law don't change another's mind
When all it sees at the hiring time
Is the line on the color bar, oh no

That's just the way it is
Some things will never change
That's just the way it is
That's just the way it is, it is, it is, it is

What a Wonderful World
George David Weiss and Bob Thiele
Recorded by Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I watch 'em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....warm sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin'.. how do you do
They're really sayin'......I love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
They'll learn much more.....than I'll never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

(instrumental break)

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin'.. how do you do
They're really sayin'...*SPOKEN*(I ....LOVE....YOU).

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
*SPOKEN*(You know their gonna learn
a whole lot more than I'll never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world.

Sway
Bic Runga

Dont sway,
dont ever go away,
I should be too smart for this
You know it gets the better of me

Sometimes,
when you and me collide,
I fall into a ocean of you,
Pull me out in time,
Don't let me down,
I say it's all because of you,

And here I go,
Losing my control,
I'm practising your name,
So i can say it to your face,
It doesnt seem right,
To look you in the eye

Dont sway,
dont ever go away,
I should be too smart for this
You know it gets the better of me

It's all because of you
It's all because of you

SHIPPING STEEL - Cold Chisel

Hammer down the open road
Steel pigs my only load
Country songs are always playin'
He's a goin', she's a staying
Briquets keep the fires burning
Diesel keeps the wheels turning
Hikers on the edge of town
Start off young and end up learning

Shipping steel, shipping steel . . .
Nobody knows, the way it feels
Caught between Heaven and the Highway
Shipping steel, shipping steel . . .

Some men need a family
Need the club fraternity
God's salvation guaranteed
Mac's the only friend I need

STANDING ON THE OUTSIDE - Cold Chisel

Standing on the outside lookin' in
Standing on the outside lookin' in
Oh-oh, I never strayed outside the law
Standing on the outside lookin' in
Room full of money and the born to win
No amount of work's gonna get me through the door
When I go walkin' down Bluewater Bay
Surface in the city at the end of the day
Oh-oh, I got a bad case of the benz
Standing on the sidewalk you can see
Somebody everybody wants to be
They got the means to justify every end
I had a friend broke through illegally
Pulled a job on a small-town T.A.B.
Five grand down on her own piece of Eden
And I know . . .
And I know . . .

The first thing I do when I get into town
Is buy a twenty-two and cut the whole thing down
No amount of work's gonna buy my way to Freedom

I'm on the outside lookin' in
Standing on the outside lookin' in
Oh Yeah!

KHE SANH - Cold Chisel

I left my heart to the sappers round Khe Sanh
And my soul was sold with my cigarettes to the blackmarket man
I've had the Vietnam cold turkey
From the ocean to the Silver City
And it's only other vets could understand

About the long forgotten dockside guarantees
How there were no V-dayheroes in 1973
How we sailed into Sydney Harbour
Saw an old friend but couldn't kiss her
She was lined, and I was home to the lucky land

And she was like so many more from that time on
Their lives were all so empty, till they found their chosen one
And their legs were often open
But their minds were always closed
And their hearts were held in fast suburban chains
And the legal pads were yellow, hours long, paypacket lean
And the telex writers clattered where the gunships once had been
But the car parks made me jumpy
And I never stopped the dreams
Or the growing need for speed and novacaine

So I worked across the country end to end
Tried to find a place to settle down, where my mixed up life could mend
Held a job on an oil-rig
Flying choppers when I could
But the nightlife nearly drove me round the bend

And I've travelled round the world from year to year
And each one found me aimless, one more year the more for wear
And I've been back to South East Asia
But the answer sure ain't there
But I'm drifting north, to check things out again

You know the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone
Only seven flying hours, and I'll be landing in Hong Kong
There ain't nothing like the kisses
From a jaded Chinese princess
I'm gonna hit some Hong Kong mattress all night long

Well the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone
Yeah the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone
And it's really got me worried
I'm goin' nowhere and I'm in a hurry
And the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone

(A bit of an alternate Aussie national anthem, that last one)

FLAME TREES - Cold Chisel

Kids out driving Saturday afternoon pass me by
I'm just savouring familiar sights
We share some history, this town and I
And I can't stop that long forgotten feeling of her
Try to book a room to stay tonight

Number one is to find some friends to say "You're doing well
After all this time you boys look just the same"
Number two is the happy hour at one of two hotels
Settle in to play "Do you remember so and so?"
Number three is never say her name

Oh the flame trees will blind the weary driver
And there's nothing else could set fire to this town
There's no change, there's no pace
Everything within its place
Just makes it harder to believe that she won't be around

But Ah! Who needs that sentimental bull****, anyway
Takes more than just a memory to make me cry
I'm happy just to sit here round a table with old friends
And see which one of us can tell the biggest lies

There's a girl falling in love near where the pianola stands
With her young local factory out-of-worker, holding hands
And I'm wondering if he'll go or if he'll stay

Do you remember, nothing stopped us on the field
In our day

Oh the flame trees will blind the weary driver
And there's nothing else could set fire to this town
There's no change, there's no pace
Everything within its place
Just makes it harder to believe that she won't be around

Oh the flame trees will blind the weary driver
And there's nothing else could set fire to this town
There's no change, there's no pace
Everything within its place
Just makes it harder to believe that she won't be around

WORKING CLASS MAN - Jimmy Barnes

Working hard to make a living
bringing shelter from the rain
a father, son left to carry on
blue denim in his vein
oh oh oh he's a working class man

Well he's a steel town disciple
he's a legend of his kind
he's running like a cyclone
across the wild mid western sky
oh oh oh he's a working class man

He believes in god and elvis
he gets out when he can
he did his time in vietnam
still mad at uncle sam
he's a simple man
with a heart of gold
in a complicated land
oh he's a working class man

Well he loves a little woman
someday he'll make his wife
saving all the overtime
for the one love of his life
he ain't worried about tomorrow
cause he just made up his mind
life's too short for burning bridges
take it one day at a time
oh oh oh he's a working class man
oh oh oh he's a working class man
oh yeah

Rather than entire songs, just some appropriate lines from some of my favorites...

Workin' in the fields 'til you get your back burned,
Workin' 'neath the wheels 'til you get your facts learned,
Me, I got my facts learned real good right now.
You better get it straight darling:
Poor man wanna be rich,
Rich man wanna be king,
And a king ain't satisfied 'til he rules everything.

-Bruce Springsteen, "Badlands"

Growin' up leads to growin' old and then to dying,
And dying to me don't sound like all that much fun.

-John Mellencamp, "The Authority Song"

From the dole queue to the regiment, a profession in a flash,
But remember Monday's signings when from door to door you dash.
On TV a nation mourns you, unknown soldier, count the cost,
For one second you'll be famous, but labeled "Posthumous".

-Marillion, "Forgotten Sons"

I understand the causes, and sympathize your motivations,
But all the details of this war are just your self-infatuation.

-Indigo Girls, "1 2 3"

Some only see what they want to see,
Claiming victory, but that's not me.
Give me Truth, give me something real,
I just want to feel that it's mine, all mine.

-Van Halen, "Mine All Mine"

Working too hard can get you a heart attack,
You oughta know by now.
You can pay Uncle Sam with the overtime,
Is that all you get for your money?

-Billy Joel, "Movin' Out"

Chicken Little tells you that the sky is falling
And even if it wasn't, would you still come crawling
Back again, I bet you would, my friend,
Again and again and again...

-Aerosmith, "Living on the Edge"

Anywhere that they don't think the same,
In any place that they don't speak the same
You think it's not your problem,
That it really doesn't matter at all.

-Genesis, "Feeding the Fire"

So dream on, everybody's free to dream on,
Work hard, love well, live long,
There's really not a better way.

-Roger Daltrey, "Days of Light"

Still, tomorrow's gonna be another working day,
And I'm trying to get some rest.

-Paul Simon, "American Tune"

Not a Drop of Rain
Robert Earl Keen

The streets are almost empty, the shops are all closed down
There's not a soul left in the bar to tell my troubles to
Think I'll walk down to the river that runs just south of town
I hate like h*** when there ain't nothing left to do

But stand beneath the river bridge and listen for the train
It's been a long hot summer, not a drop of rain

I broke down in December and headed for the coast
I thought the wind and water would elevate my mind
I surfaced in the springtime feeling like a ghost
Missing more than ever the things I left behind

Now I'm standing on this river bank and still cannot explain
It's been a long hot summer, not a drop of rain

My bag is full of letters unopened and unread
I'm sure they tell the story of worry and reform
My heart is beating heavy with all we left unsaid
I swear to you I never meant you any harm

But sacrifice and compromise could never stand the strain
It's been a long hot summer, not a drop of rain

Tonight I close my eyes again and try to see your face
Listen for your voice to tell me it's all right to sleep
Convince myself I'll wake up in another time and place
Knowing all the while it's a promise I can't keep

A string of broken promises another link of chain
It's been a long hot summer, not a drop of rain

The children on the playground, the lovers in the shade
Remind me of a life and time that feels more like a dream
When the sound of love and laughter was the music that we played
As we lay beside the waters of the never ending stream

Now the stream's gone into hiding, the dream lives on in vain
It's been a long hot summer, not a drop of rain

The clouds are building slowly on the skyline to the east
The wind and dust are dancing like the devil 'cross the lake
I could try and find a bottle or try and find a breeze
Salvation won't be traveling either road I take

So I turn my collar to the wind that echoes this refrain
It's been a long, hot summer, not a drop of rain

Guns N Roses
Don't Cry

Talk to me softly
There's something in your eyes
Don't hang your head in sorrow
And please don't cry
I know how you feel inside I've
I've been there before
Somethin's changin' inside you
And don't you know

Don't you cry tonight
I still love you baby
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

Give me a whisper
And give me a sigh
Give me a kiss before you
tell me goodbye
Don't you take it so hard now
And please don't take it so bad
I'll still be thinkin' of you
And the times we had...baby

And don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
Don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry tonight

And please remember that I never lied
And please remember
how I felt inside now honey
You gotta make it your own way
But you'll be alright now sugar
You'll feel better tomorrow
Come the morning light now baby

And don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
An don't you cry tonight
There's a heaven above you baby
And don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry tonight
Baby maybe someday
Don't you cry
Don't you ever cry
Don't you cry
Tonight

When you're talkin to yourself
And nobody's home
You can fool yourself
You came in this world alone
(Alone)

So nobody ever told you baby
How it was gonna be
So what'll happen to you baby
Guess we'll have to wait and see
ONE, TWO

Old at heart but I'm only 28
And I'm much too young
To let love break my heart
Young at heart but it's getting much too late
To find ourselves so far apart

I don't know how you're s'posed
To find me lately
An what more could tou ask from me
How could you say that I never needed you
When you took everything
Said you took everything from me

Young at heart an it gets so hard to wait
When no one I know can seem to help me now
Old at heart but I musn't hesitate
If I'm to find my own way out

Still talkin' to myself
and nobody's home
(Alone)

So nobody ever told us baby
How it was gonna be
So what'll happen to us baby
Guess we'll have to wait and see

When I find out all the reasons
Maybe I'll find another way
Find another day
With all the changing seasons of my life
Maybe I'll get it right next time
An now that you've been broken down
Got your head out of the clouds
You're back down on the ground
And you don't talk so loud
An you don't walk so proud
Any more, and what for

Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines
'Cause I see the storm getting closer
And the waves they get so high
Seems everything We've ever known's here
Why must it drift away and die

I'll never find anyone to replace you
Guess I'll have to make it thru, this time- Oh this time
Without you

I knew the storm was getting closer
And all my friends said I was high
But everything we've ever known's here
I never wanted it to die

Smoke Two Joints

(She was living in a single room with three other individuals
One of them was a male and the other two...well
the other two were females
God only knows what they were up to in there
And furthermore Susan, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that
all four of them habitually smoked marijuana cigarettes
REEFERS!)

I smoke two joints in the morning
I smoke two joints at night
I smoke two joints in the afternoon
It makes me feel all right

I smoke two joints in time of peace
And two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints,
And then I smoke two more

(Smoked cigarettes till the day she died)

Daddy he once told me,
'Son, you be hard workin' man'
And momma she once told me,
'Son, you do the best you can'
But then one day I met a man,
He came to me and said,
'Hard work good and hard work fine,
but first take care of head'

I'm So Tired - Lennon/McCartney

I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink
I'm so tired, my mind is on the blink
I wonder should I get up and fix myself a drink
No,no,no.

I'm so tired I don't know what to do
I'm so tired my mind is set on you
I wonder should I call you but I know what you'd do

You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane
You know I'd give you everything I've got
for a little peace of mind

I'm so tired, I'm feeling so upset
Although I'm so tired I'll have another cigarette
And curse Sir Walter Raleigh
He was such a stupid git!

You'd say I'm putting you on
But it's no joke, it's doing me harm
You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain
You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane!
You know I'd give you everything I've got
for a little peace of mind!
I'd give you everything I've got
for a little piece of mind!
I'd give you everything I've got
for a little piece of mind!

Nmhmm...Snarf! 'Ner Night!

Some days...
In My Life
(McCartney/Lennon - 1965)

There are places I'll remember,
all my life though some have changed.
Some forever not for better,
some have gone and some remain.
All these places have their moments,
with lovers and friends I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living,
in my life I've loved them all.

But of all these friends and lovers,
there is no one compares with you,
and these memories lose their meaning,
when I think of love as something new.
Though I know I'll never lose affection,
for people and things that went before.
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
in my life I love you more.

Though I know I'll never lose affection,
for people and things that went before.
I know I'll often stop and think about them,
in my life I love you more.

In my life I love you more.

Other Days...
Syncronicity II
(Sting - 1983)

Another suburban morning
Grandmother screaming at the wall
We have to shout above the din of our Rice Crispies
We can't hear anything at all
Mother chants her litany of boredom and frustrations
But we know all her suicides are fake

Daddy only stares into the distance
There's only so much more that he can take
Many miles away something crawls from the slime at the
Bottom of a dark Scottish lake

Another industrial ugly morning
The factory belches filth into the sky
He walks unhindered through the picket lines today
He doesn't think to wonder why
The secretaries pout and preen like cheap tarts on a red light street
But all he ever thinks to do is watch
And every single meeting with his so-called superior
Is a humiliating kick in the crotch
Many miles away something crawls to the surface of a dark Scottish lake

Another working day has ended
Only the rush hour hell to face
Packed like lemmings into shiny metal boxes
Contestants in a suicidal race
Daddy grips the wheel and stares alone into the distance
He knows that something somewhere has to break
He sees the family home now looming in the headlights
The pain upstairs that makes his eyeballs ache
Many miles away there's a shadow on the door of a cottage on the
Shore of a dark Scottish lake

And now, in time for the daily vomitorium:

"Long-Haired Lover From Liverpool" - Little Jimmy Osmond

I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool
And I'll do anything you say,
I'll be your clown or your puppet or your April fool
If you'll be my sunshine daisy from LA,
I'll be your leprechaun and sit upon an old toadstool,
I'll serenade you till I'm old and grey,
I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool,
You'll be my sunshine daisy from LA.

You'll be my lovely daisy on a mountainside,
There are lots of other flowers too,
But all the other flowers hung their heads and cried,
Because the loveliest of all them was you,
But you were evidently the exception to the rule,
I picked you quickly then I ran away,
'Cos I'm your long-haired lover from Liverpool,
You are my sunshine daisy from LA.

I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool
And I'll do anything you ask,
I'll be your clown or your puppet or your April fool,
Cut my hair, I'll even wear a mask,
I'll be your Valentineand you'll be mine and things will be cool,
We'll move along together every day,
I'll be your long-haired lover from Liverpool,
You'll be my sunshine daisy from LA,
You'll be my sunshine daisy from LA.
:vomit:
There. Was that enough disgusting saccharine that violates the Geneva Convention for you, or do you want more from my ...evil... collection?
:mwaha::mwaha::mwaha:

And here is a rather different song.

The Band Played Waltzing Matilda - Eric Bogle

When I was a young man I carried me pack
And I lived the free life of the rover
From the Murray's green basin to the dusty outback
I waltzed my Matilda all over
Then in 1915 my country said: Son,
It's time to stop rambling, there's work to be done
So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun
And they sent me away to the war

And the band played Waltzing Matilda
When the ship pulled away from the quay
And amid all the tears, flag waving and cheers
We sailed off for Gallipoli

It well I remember that terrible day
When our blood stained the sand and the water
And how in that hell they call Suvla Bay
We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter
Johnny Turk, he was ready, he primed himself well
He rained us with bullets, and he showered us with shell
And in five minutes flat, we were all blown to hell
He nearly blew us back home to Australia

And the band played Waltzing Matilda
When we stopped to bury our slain
Well we buried ours and the Turks buried theirs
Then it started all over again

Oh those that were living just tried to survive
In that mad world of blood, death and fire
And for ten weary weeks I kept myself alive
While around me the corpses piled higher
Then a big Turkish shell knocked me arse over head
And when I awoke in me hospital bed
And saw what it had done, I wished I was dead
I never knew there was worse things than dying

Oh no more I'll go Waltzing Matilda
All around the green bush far and near
For to hump tent and pegs, a man needs both legs
No more waltzing Matilda for me

They collected the wounded, the crippled, the maimed
And they shipped us back home to Australia
The armless, the legless, the blind and the insane
Those proud wounded heroes of Suvla
And when the ship pulled into Circular Quay
I looked at the place where me legs used to be
And thank Christ there was no one there waiting for me
To grieve and to mourn and to pity

And the Band played Waltzing Matilda
When they carried us down the gangway
Oh nobody cheered, they just stood there and stared
Then they turned all their faces away

Now every April I sit on my porch
And I watch the parade pass before me
I see my old comrades, how proudly they march
Renewing their dreams of past glories
I see the old men all tired, stiff and worn
Those weary old heroes of a forgotten war
And the young people ask "What are they marching for?"
And I ask myself the same question

And the band plays Waltzing Matilda
And the old men still answer the call
But year after year, their numbers get fewer
Someday, no one will march there at all

Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
Who'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me?
And their ghosts may be heard as they march by the billabong
So who'll come a-Waltzing Matilda with me?

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Load up on guns and bring your friends
It's fun to lose and to pretend
She's over bored and self assured
Oh no, I know a dirty word

Hello, hello, hello, how low?

With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yay, a denial

I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been (tribe)
And always will until the end

Hello, hello, hello, how low?

With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yay, a denial

And I forget just why I taste
Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard, it was hard to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind

hello, hello, hello, how low?

With the lights out it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
A mulatto
An albino
A mosquito
My Libido
Yay, a denial

A denial
A denial
A denial
A denial
A denial

Walking Cane
Robert Earl Keen

I got high and I got in jail,
I got high and I got in jail,
I got high and I got in jail, with nobody to post my bail.
My sins, they have overtaken me.

Hand me down my walking cane,
Hand me down my walking cane,
Hand me down my walking cane, I'm gonna leave on the morning train.
My sins, they have over taken me.

If I die in Tennessee,
If I die in Tennessee,
Ship me back by C.O.D.
My sins, they have overtaken me.

Hand me down my walking cane,
Hand me down my walking cane,
Hand me down my walking cane, I'm gonna leave on the morning train.
My sins, they have over taken me.

Hand me down my bottle of corn,
Hand me down my bottle of corn,
Hand me down my bottle of corn, I'm gonna get drunk as sure as you're born.
My sins, they have overtaken me.

Hand me down my walking cane,
Hand me down my walking cane,
Hand me down my walking cane, I'm gonna leave on the morning train.
My sins they have over taken me.
