Thread to Report Issues with new xenForo version 2.2

You changed it to no avatar? (just to confirm)

btw I'm finding that the switch to Xenforo v.2 has accidentally removed the insectoid ‘feature’ that resulted in formatting being screwed in quotes by having all quoted text be rendered in italics, no matter what.

Adblock+ 'Block Element' removes it without issues.
no adblock on mobile but the problem is fixed in "themes" in your userprofile.

Also, for god sakes switch from adblock+ to ublock origin!

Why is the forum logo about Civ V when the latest iteration is VI and the best one is III?

Hm, it appears that when searching for a term - at least when a specific user posted it - the results no longer are arranged by order of when they happened. This has to be changed, because it defeats the purpose when there are pages and pages of results (can't realistically find anything when you were looking for a more or less specific time frame).

Because that banner was made by one of your fellow CFC members, and it's a nice one ;).

mmhh.... what, where, how?
If you go to the search function, you need to check at the bottom of the search interface, where there's a sorting possible by relevance and by date.

Not a major thing, but before the upgrade, when I hit the "Upload A File" button, I used to get a "Browse for file" pop-up which showed a list of permitted file-extensions.

Now the forum immediately opens a Finder / WindowsExploder window, which does not tell me what files I'm allowed to upload — presumably unless/until I try to upload a 'forbidden' format.

So I would like to know if that list of permitted formats is now stored/visible anywhere else? I just read through the entire Forum Rules thread, and looked at the Downloads front page, but didn't see anything obvious.

The permitted formats are the one listed under "supported types" on the bottom right of the upload dialogue ;).

That's a Windows PC screenie, right? On a Mac (Big Sur v.11.6.8), I didn't immediately see that list displayed: turns out I have to first click the "Options" button

Well, you deserve prosecution for mistreatment of a nice Linux computer.

Just tell me if you need anyone assassinated if that is the case.

Is there any chance that an option exists or can be added to make the width of posts not extend to the edge of the browser window? I notice that when using the default Xenforo theme or 'Shades of Grey' it doesn't, but the other themes do. Attached a comparison.

...ahm...
so, this is setting per theme.
We can either give it a fixed width (like shades of grey), or a width relative to the screen size (like the CFC themes).
Both have advantages for mobile vs. desktop, so I can't really say that one is better than the other one.
AND this cannot be made user customizable, sadly. The only option we have is to duplicate the theme, and change the settings. Which, if we do this for all, will get quite messy :/.

In account details, if I click on my avatar it asks me if I want to upload a file to change it. This doesn't happen for you?

edit - looking into it. You can send me a PM an explain what you need to have done and I will try to edit it for you.
No, It just opens a tab with my avatar. I want my account to have no avatar because I know these issues won't "be fixed."
Where do I send a PM (personal message) to someone anyway?

Have removed your avatar as requested. To send me a message, mouse over my avatar or forum name and in the box that comes up, click on start a conversation. You can type your message.

The background color for the stickie threads is now almost identical with all other threads. I have to look really closely to see any color difference, making it tough to spot the stickies. I looked at all the themes. Only in the grey theme is it easily noticed. Could we get this adjusted to be more apparent in all the themes?

....er... you are sure that can only distinguish this in the grey theme?
Because in the default Civ6 theme it's blue-ish (normal thread) against yellow-ish (stickies).
In both the default Civ6 and the Modern themes, I see a background that is white in normal thread names and, if I look closely, a faintly yellowish offwhite for stickies. This is in both Firefox and Safari.

Okay... I really only want to make sure that we're all on the same side when we look at this.... could you (don't get me wrong please) have a look at these first: https://www.colorlitelens.com/ishihara-test.html ?
I passed the test that you sent me to. I am not color blind. :) I thnk that I found the problem. I am looking at the forum now with two different browsers. My old "out dated" Firefox and the latest release. On my old version the stickie yellow color is quite obvious and, now that you mention it, I see the faintest hint of blue, although I would call it extremely light gray, in the other thread labels. On the newest Firefox and the newest Safari, the colors are so faint as to be not noticeable. It appears that the programers for the browsers don't understand "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and have screwed up the color rendering to suit their own personal preferences.
