Thread to Report Issues with new xenForo version 2.2

Uh... the text is within the same thread though, yes?
I guess this might be worth a bug report.
I bet it is working as designed, just making a summary of the page without respecting the anchor link. Just a guess knowing nothing about CFC's system but seeing similar functionality in other places.

Yeah, that could be, but the text is neither from the OP, nor from the first post on that page, so I'm not sure :dunno:.
The text in the summary box is the text of the first post of the linked page, without the line break between the quote and reply.

I made the link to post 690 of the CCM 2 thread and when klicked on that link it is pointing to post 690, but the text in the light blue box - as Samson pointed out - is the condensed text of the first post of page 35 of the CCM 2 thread (without the line break between the quote and reply), that also holds post 690 of that thread.

In the old software there used to be a way to link to a single post on its own page. That worked, but I have not found the solution in the new software.

Thank you very much for your answers.

Other than the not-saving-whatever-first-post-you-were-typing-but-didn't-post, and instead allowing you to make some other (non committal - jesus, what a hideous spelling that term has!) replacement for it, I can't think of some other glaring improvement from a purely posting pov. I am sure there are such from site safety pov ;)

What did I make wrong ? I klicked on the identification number of post 690 and inserted it into my link.
Sorry, bad phrasing from my side. Nothing wrong there, you did everything right. The software is just not smart :/.

I've thought for some time that there was still one type of link that wasn't redirecting properly, and I finally found an example of it where I can confirm how it should map.

For this resource: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/flicster.5860/ there is a link in the description to the thread, which follows this format:

Code:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10208

That is an old link style, which appears to have been in use from 2010 until the autumn of 2015, and it doesn't redirect. In vBulletin 3 syntax, it is equivalent to:

Code:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=10208

This properly redirects, to (in short form) https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/10208/

I've found some discussion of this issue over the years:

The first one shows that this actually was not working on XF 1.x either, so it's not a new issue, but I'm not sure we ever pinned it down/shared it in Site Feedback back in the day.

The best search I've found for this query is here, and shows up to 180 results (although some are to Apolyton). This does not include any links of that style on the home page/strategy articles.

Incidentally, fixing this will also give us a +1 advantage in our rivalry with Apolyton, as their links of the same style (e.g. http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=103616) are not currently working either. If scoring a point over Apolyton isn't good motivation, I don't know what is :).

Thanks @Quintillus . It seems that the forum for the links is different from the standard format.
I'll ask Thunderfall if he can open a ticket with Xenforo to see if they maybe have an easy fix for this type of format too.

EDIT: Tomorrow, and I hope to not forget this...

Did you forget?
