Tiberian Sky

Yay, a Nod neighbor.

I'm switching my province in South China to the middle of Korea. Too lazy to edit a map.

I suggest east Africa or central Asia.

Or Scandinavia, simply because there's always a super viking nation.

If any new Nod player wants the advice of somebody who's Nod not GDI ;) :p, I'd say Central Asia from those three.

i hereby withdraw from the game. Ive lost interest.

I'll be Nod.

Faction name: Thor's Armies of Odin for the Nodic Federation
Leader name: General Baldric Thornton
Leader trait: Decisive, Strong-Willed, Charismatic,
Headquarters: Stockholm, Sweden
Allegiance: NOD
Description: Baldric Thorndon, was born in Stockholm and was raised in a military family. He quickly flew up the ranks, but started out as a Private. He is considered just one of the men and because he knows what it is like to be in the infantry and fight the enemy directly he is extremely well liked and respected and the army gives him unswerving loyalty.

He has managed to bring together the Norse lands together of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, in the form of a benevolent dictatorship as President, however the regions each have their own Prime Minister and is responsible for regional administration. A minimum of 20% of income is collected for military expenditure from the regions and this amount may increase in times of need for the the protection of Nodic Federation and its ambitions.

@kiwitt - Welcome to Nod! :D

NPC one GDI player until such a player appears to take over! If a player appears, they are allowed to re-customize the nation however they see fit except they keep the same stats and territories as the nation they take over. Until such a player appears, you can basically allow that nation to follow the general plan that the GDI come up with in their group.

Is this dead?

I hope not.

No, it's not dead! Yesterday was meant to be the last day for sign-ups. I'll NPC a GDI player, though I want one more player really badly, so one more person can still join.

My IOTs have a slower pace than most. ;)

Steel Talons

Leader name: Haris Dragojević
Leader trait: Resourceful, reckless, secretive
Headquarters: Brisbane, Australia
Allegiance: GDI
Description: The Steel Talons is the nickname given to the Australasian Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, or ASIRO, a GDI unit based in Brisbane, Australia. It was formed quite recently when the Australian government's scientific research organisation, CSIRO, was merged into the larger GDI research organisation. It specialises in experimental weapons development and industrial research, and is behind the development of many of GDI's newest weapons. Its leader is General Haris Dragojevic, who fled Bosnia and Herzegovina during the First Tiberium War and who harbours a visceral hatred for Kane and his followers who devastated his country. His deputy, Colonel Joshua Mitchell, is a gifted young engineer who looks set to take over the organisation after Dragojevic's retirement.

It Begins...

London, England
December, 2010

The GDI leadership holds its bi-annual meeting in London. The location itself speaks volumes about the predicament the organisation is finding itself in. New York City, where the United Nations has its headquarters, is in the hands of a Nod splinter cell, and the latest GDI attempt to dislodge Bane’s troops from Manhattan ended in an embarrassing failure. The United Nations relocated itself first to Washington D.C., then to Nairobi, and finally here, London.

The political and military leaders who are gathering in the Palace of Westminster today come from all over the world. Eva Tenaire, the skilled and charismatic newly elected President of the Confederate States of America, is the centre of media attention. Also present are Martin Pitiscus, the head of the Italian military junta, and the commanders of the GDI taskforces in West Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia. Non-GDI leaders are also present; the militant Japanese shogun and the Islamic caliph, the leaders of the new states of Siberia and Tamazgha and the corporate state of the Forge. It is hoped that these regimes can be convinced to join GDI and integrate their military with the global command structure. The mutants of Central Africa petitioned David Cameron to attend the conference, but the request was refused, ostensibly on security grounds. However, it is known that the British Prime Minister is prejudiced against “shiners”.

The Fourth Battle of New York is number one on the agenda. Though publicly GDI vows to eradicate the Nod threat in North America, privately its leaders question the propriety of launching another offensive against Bane’s troops. Many GDI leaders are content to leave New York to Nod and instead expand on other fronts. Besides, Nod in its present state is not much more than a nuisance; Kane is dead, and without their “prophet”, Nod is without direction and cannot pose the kind of serious threat that GDI had to confront in the last world war. That is not to say that some of the so-called “splinter cells” have not grown worryingly powerful; Alaska, Colombia, Scandinavia and China all host powerful Nod factions, the deranged leader of the Netherlands has been assembling an empire under the Nod banner, and Robert Mugabe clings on to power in Zimbabwe after rebranding himself as a devoted follower of Kane. Nevertheless, GDI is confident that Nod will fracture further in the coming years, and it is well within its ability to deal with it.

A much more serious problem is Tiberium. Despite a decade and half and billions of dollars spent on intensive research, Tiberium continue to confound the scientific community and resists all attempts to control it. Tiberium continue to spread around the globe unabated, and has been appearing in new forms which further complicates research. The spread of Tiberium has brought misery to billions around the world, and has so far killed more than 20 million at a conservative estimate. It has also been creating new species as it mutates humans, plants and animals; the mutants in Central Africa are part of a growing species of Tiberium-based humans. Could humans and other carbon-based life ever coexist with Tiberium-based life?

The world leaders decide to conduct a press conference. The GDI Director, in his signature Texas accent, reassures the assembled media, and the world, that the organisation has the Tiberium situation under control, and that the end to the “War On Terror” is in sight. The Director then asks if anyone has a question. A reporter raises his hand up. The Director gives him a slight nod, permitting him to speak.

The reporter does not speak.

The reporter pulls out a pistol and fires.

The Director collapses in a pool of blood. The British prime minister takes cover behind the podium. Several senior GDI officials produce their own weapons.

Pandemonium.

Screams pierce the air.

GDI security officials, having failed at their duty to protect their leaders, now attempt to take down the assassin. However, the gunman is right in the middle of a panicking crowd. The GDI soldiers hold their fire.

The assassin makes his message loud and clear:

“Kane Lives In Death!”

before he places his gun under his chin, and pulls the trigger.
