We will sign this Latin Pact. St. Augustine wrote that a stable peace is the best Christians can hope for in this world. Christendom needs stability for the good of Christians everywhere. Christ will bring His kingdom - our peace will pave His way. Let cool heads and the strong bonds of friendship serve as an example to those who desire peace for the world.

TO: College of Cardinals
We are somewhat ashamed of this attachment to a temporal location. We are not Muslims, that we must cling to Mecca and Medina, that we must require that "No god but Allah be worshipped in Arabia." Christ's Kingdom is not of this world and the Church should be concerned with ministry to her communicants, not with temporal power.
Rome is the ancient center of not only temporal, but pagan, power. Let it serve as the symbol of temporal authority. Abandon the Seven Hills of the Emperor, free yourselves of the taint of temporal pursuit, and use this time of God's testing to renew the Church. Allow the Lord to cleanse away the old, abandoning it, without looking back. Build anew a Holy Church that seeks the Lord, not the World.
We urge this course of action not merely for your spiritual welfare and the welfare of Catholics everywhere, but also to ensure the continued security of the Papal hierarchy. The current position is too precarious, resting close to the borders of a non-communicant faith. Do not live in fear. Come to the center of the spread of the Catholic faith and minister to the people who would receive and love you, who need your ministry and guidance.
