We have seriously considered your offer, and after much deliberation have decided to accept, assuming that the Emperor agrees to several conditions. After being forced out of the Eternal City by the vile Greek dogs, we wish never again to be dominated by any Emperor, though we gladly consider Ferdinand the greatest of allies.
Our conditions are these:
The first, being that the city of Toledo be considered in the Papal domain, with the Pope holding joint authority with the Emperor as ruler of the city.
The second, that the Emperor make no public edict that specifically contradicts Papal edicts, unless previously agreed upon with the Pope.
The third, that Spain make no alliance with the "Roman Empire", usurpers of St. Peter's throne.
The fourth, that the Emperor build a cathedral in central Toledo, and make all improvements necessary to house the pope, and make the city a fitting center for Christianity on Earth.
If the Emperor agrees to these conditions, the Papacy will remove itself to Toledo, giving immense prestige and glory to Spain and her Empire. We sincerely hope that these conditions are accepted.

St. Augustine calls us to work for worldly peace where possible and as a result, we beg you to reconsider article three. While our loyalty is always towards the Catholic Faith and the Supreme Pontiff, we believe that an alliance with the Greeks will allow us to maintain a peace over all of Christendom, allowing us to focus on spreading the word of God for His Glory, whether it be in Africa or the New World.
We also urge you not to fear, the Greeks could never usurp the Throne of St. Peter - the Apostolic Succession of the Rock of Catholicism is the Papal Person; the Throne, wherever he might be.

We, in our great magnanimity, will allow Bavaria and Poland the following areas, in pink, from former German Minor/Swedish territory. The other areas you demand have long been Norse possessions, and their transfer is unacceptable. Further, we feel that the re-creation of Sweden is inappropriate; the Norse fought hard for those lands, and you opportunists who picked up Sweden's scraps should be grateful.

We would ask you, then: what further help do you expect from the Horde, now that their force has been completely annihilated? And anyway, do you want to be beholden to those heathens? Very well, we will refrain from signing any alliance with the Romans if you will come to your senses and remove yourselves to Toledo.
However, as a private aside, we caution you against travelling too far down this path. The Office of the Papacy is to provide guidance to Christendom in matters of faith and spirituality. The Lord provided two swords, and the Pope wields but one. You speak in contradictions when you say the Emperor and the Pope hold joint authority, yet then demand the ability to direct the policy of the temporal realm. This hypocrisy may go overlooked in this world, but the Lord Who Knows All will not allow it to go unnoticed in the next. The Emperor will agree to this limitation on alliance only for your own sakes. However, he prays that this meddlesome bitterness does not lead to that most sinful state of war between Christians.
Therefore, we will abstain from any alliance with the Romans, but the Lion Emperor hereby informs the Cardinalate that the Latin Pact is no such alliance. It is a peace treaty with the aim of preventing suffering while denying Satan his favorite tool to achieve man's sin - warfare.
Finally, the Cardinalate, having thus achieved this item they held more dearly than their own safety and support, must agree that henceforth the duty of the clergy is not temporal and that the Lord Almighty placed sovereign Emperors on this Earth to be obeyed in order that His Will might be done. We need only reference the the 13th Chapter of Romans to support this point.

IC: The College of Cardinals agrees to the Spanish proposal, and agrees with the Emperor's sentiments on peace. The control of Toledo is essential to maintaining the spiritual and physical integrity of the Church, and the Papacy compels none who are unwilling to follow the faith.
I have orders from Rome, Poland, Galicia, Bavaria, Egypt, Lothringen, the Golden Horde, and the Irish Empire.
Everyone else should send them in ASAP.
I've had a really crazy schedule that's kept me from finishing those update changes, but you can personally firebomb my house if they aren't done by tomorrow.
I've started work on the BT, mostly in North and South Avalon.

I just realised I didn't send my orders; I was waiting for you to finish the update. Anyway, simply continue my reforms and policies; they were all long-term, after all. Tolerate the Sikhs but if they get out of line (i.e. rebel or start attacking members of other religions), strike back with extreme prejudice. Same for any other religious dissenters.
