TNT1 : Monarch, custom continents, PP or PW

1) We don't have contact with civs we are at permanent peace.
Ragnar and Caesar Augustus are at permanent peace, so they must
have contacted each other.
2) In the last Sansman's save they don't know each other. So I wanted to
look at the most recent save, but......I couldn't find it.

Well, GreyFox maybe you're right they don't know each other.
I don't know/use this mod, but in earlier spoiler info this attitude
change happened before. Hopefully I'm wrong about the Optics part.

Ragnar, Augustus Caesar, Bismarck and Gandhi are all at different
continents. They are doing well in score and we are at permanent
war with them.

My CD/DVD-player is down then (friday) i am going out of country for 2 weeks, so i will need to be skipped for awhile.

Got it. I will play tonight. What should we research after currency? Guilds needs 5 low level techs we should trade instead of self research. I would go for engineering (trebuchet). I hope we can get alphabet from our allies or better to research it?

A rather quiet turnset.
Currency in, started engineering for trebuchet. (Most AI we know allready know alphabet.)
2 caravels built, both heading north (we probably are on the southern hemisphere).
Science rate back to 60 %, we need heappyness resources to grow and work on commerce tiles. Maybe finish france first would be easier. Khan pillaged Orleans quite well.
Karakorum well defended now.

We meet one of our friends.

It looks like Gandhi has the upper hand.
Vassal states are on, but we don't have Feudalism.
We could give Lizzy a city on our continent to save a friend.
We can't help her military until Astronomy and that could be too late.

1304 AD (9)
Trouble ahead, Genghis has war elephants!

IBT 1304 AD
Luck is on our side, Mongol war elephant versus our crossbow (86%) 0-1
Mongol axe versus our axe (75%) 0-1

Genghis has another war elephant in Karakorum, but that ivory camp is pillaged.

Ok, got it and started playing:

Turn 0

Hire another Scientist to prevent growth at Timbuktu (at max. happiness).

Produced a Great Scientist who will pop Alphabet for us. So I think we can hang on to him a bit. Or should I add him to Timbuktu? I will wait an hour before continuing.

I will be quick since I am very tired.

For lack of knowing any better :dunno: I added the Great Scientist to Timbuktu. Sorry Greyfox I only just now saw your comment :wallbash:. Anyways continued bombardment of Karakorum and kept sending troops up to it as well. During same time the French were eliminated :scan:.

civ4screenshot0004kp1.jpg

When the defenses were reduced to 0% I attacked with everything we had in place which destroyed all but two units. Next turn without any reinforcements reaching Karakorum I managed to take it without many losses. :goodjob:

civ4screenshot0008st9.jpg

I sent up a worker to rebuild the camp so that we could get some Jumbo ourselves but then two stacks of troops arrived from where French were. There is an Mongolian infestation that going to be difficult to remove from around Karakorum.

civ4screenshot0011ql8.jpg

I whipped twice at Karakorum to create a couple of Pikemen for defense and worker protection. We need the Jumbos badly and we should also send some units to remove the Metals from Genghis resources. His troops will be a pain unless we can get Macemen before he does.

On the Teching side of things I have been trading like mad to try to back fill. Then next player should continue searching out more allies and trade with them I think we could collect a lot of techs that we desperately need this way.

Anyways here is the save. http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/108795/TNT1_AD-1430.CivWarlordsSave

Team can decide we want to keep this high speed. Immaculate will miss a lot in this case. If we want I can continue this evening (6-8 hours from now) or just post comments and wait for Fox.

I'm glad we've researched Engineering in time.
Orleans was founded on ivory, we should investigate that area to see
if Genghis has razed or captured the city.

I'm easy with the roster and the game itself. So if you have the time to play post a got it.
I don't like overdiscussion (like we see in SGOTMs),
I encourage players to make their own descisions during their turns.

GreyFox
