To non-middle eastern posters here

You should perhaps read what I actually said. I said "which middle eastern country", not "which middle eastern people". Also, interesting/exotic is not the same as favorite. As an American, Canada is very bland since based on my last few trips there, it is almost identical to the United States. That doesn't mean I particularly hate Canada or Canadians.
Where did you go in Canada?

I don't know why anyone would not want to visit a Muslim country. They're not all strict. I think most westerners would feel comfortable in Jordan and Turkey.
Which countries would you say are the safest and most comfortable for a woman traveling alone?

Oman Iraqed my brain for a Syrias answer but Iran out energy; my Bahrain Israelly tired.

Where did you go in Canada?

which I remember: Victoria. British Columbia in general. Some port city on the eastern side of Canada which we saw for a day from a carnival cruise ship.

That's about it.

Well, I can't comment on eastern Canada. I've never even been as far east as Saskatchewan.

But I've been to British Columbia a lot. In fact, I've been more places there than in Alberta.

The places I've been in down in the States have mostly been in Wenatchee and Spokane, as well as a few small towns. None of them are places I'd mistake for anywhere in B.C.

Actually I'd like to visit Israel myself. But I want to visit all of the middle east in general, with the only exceptions being Saudi Arabia and India (if you'd call India part of the middle east).

I thought you said you're gay?

It is not necessarily about what you said and more of how you said it. Maybe you should consult Strunk and White's seminal, prescriptive encapsulation of the English language, The Elements of Style to further inform your awareness of the a) the multiplicity of the meanings of words in the English language, and b) concealed meaning behind the words we use, especially when prone to bias and personal interpretation, as is evident in the inquiry presented.

You're even more smug and annoying then the original, good job. :goodjob:

Which one has the least camel spiders?

I like that one best.

I'm not all too big on Arab countries. I'd rather visit Iran, Turkey, Kurdistan or Israel.

Considering how well you know me from fiftychat and simply here on CFC itself, there should be a million more effective ways of trolling me than this.

As previously mentioned, academia is not about some sort of false ideal such as "trolling" but rather intense discussions about the ideas which comprise our world (for which you still have not replied to, if I may bring that point to the table). Whereas "trolling", in its most pure form, can be considered an artform, it occupies a lowly position on the totem pole of artistic expression and, thus, must occupy and possess a lower standing than the art of reply-solely-with-gifs.

You're even more smug and annoying then the original, good job. :goodjob:

I was honestly expecting a generic anti-Seahawks thread and THEN I laugh my ass off, but instead you ramble on about some meaningless stuff nobody would care about.
Ummmm Go Pats? Woo hoo?

Hahaha! You guys got me with that Avatar switcheroo!:D I was looking at the quote thinking "Wait! Madviking didn't say that Owen did! Hahaha:rotfl:

Anyway to answer the question: Egypt because of the Wonders of course, c'mon!Israel takes 2nd place. I don't think India counts as Middle East, but if it did I would put India in 2nd and Israel in 3rd.

Being told you "look Egyptian"... might depend on the ethnicity of the person making the comment. If it was a black person I would guess compliment, if it was an Israeli or Jewish person, maybe an insult.:dunno:

I passed out drunk on a ferry one time. When I woke up I was in either Vancouver or Seattle. Not sure which one. The ferry's overnight dock was Seattle, so I went back to sleep figuring when they threw me off I'd be on the right side of the border.

Spoiler :
Okay, I made that up, but I did find Vancouver and Seattle to be mostly interchangeable, and since 95% of Canadians live within fifty miles of the (laid down arbitrarily) US border I doubt there are vast differences between these two peoples.

My thinking was "like descendents of mostly British colonists and descendents of mostly British colonists". I suppose that might provide Quebec as a somewhat unique experience though, so I retract my total lack of interest. :goodjob:

if it's the strict Middle East, than really all of it except for the Gulf states where there is nothing to see especially Egypt, Iran, Turkey, Iraq and Syria (all of them have unbelievable historic sites to visit).

If you talk about a large ME (one that goes from Morocco to Pakistan), than I'll put Morocco in the list as well.

Which Middle eastern country would you find the most interesting or exotic?

Iran, definitely. Arab countries are only interesting for the Orientalist mystique.

And should "you look Egyptian" be taken as a compliment, insult, or neither?

Sounds like a simple observation of fact to me.

sharif dont like it
