No, Im not giving up playing the blues...but now I have my first "real job"..something outisde of the sporadic incomes from drum teaching, or menial food service employment.

One of my professors hired me to be his research assisstant today, and to help with writing his book on special interest groups of American Ethnic and Religious groups. In addition, come this summer, I will also accepting a paid posistion for a political party in my county. If for some reason, I have to stay at OSU, I've been promised other, better jobs if I stick around (and don't screw up these next 3 months)

Quitting Food Service never felt so good. Now I'll get to work with something I love, and become an actual policy expert now.

Good for you, man.

Work and prosper!

Hum... didn't you change your username in the first place because of a new job?

I did. I worked for 4 months unpaid, and since I would be employed by the city under taxpayer money, a new law would have to be created to allocate funds to actually hire me over the summer. Given their current budget situation, that isn't going to happen.

I imagine I'll work here and there for that city on an unpaid basis, because I really believe in what they're trying to do.

Hey now we both are research assistants at tOSU! Only I'm technically employed by the OSU Med Center (got a badge and everything!)

Congrats on the job. Is this on the main campus or one of the branches?

Its at the Newark Branch, because I live 5 min from campus. Should I go to main campus this fall, I'll be transfered to a Columbus Office.

I might be heading up that ways a few times anyways, because our branch library blows.
