1) France
Throughout the middle ages and the renaissance France was a leading example for western civilizations. The Normans conquered Sicily from the muslims, and England from the saxons. They were a top participator in the crusades also. The Pope even used to live in Avignon France, they built a whole papal palace for the pope
In the Renaissance, France was the capital of philosophers and Artists, they even got Da Vinci to go to France. And if you would go to France today, You would see they are still the capital of art, with many international works and french works
France helped to free Amerivca from the British
France has for most of the middle ages and renaissance, been the most populous country and the biggest country in Western Europe. And they were the first in Europe and probably the world that overthrew their own monarchy, established a republic, while fighting the rest of Europe. And then just a decade later, their armies marched and burned Moscow, which was farther than Hitler went. The French Revolution was the most important Event in Western Europe no questions asked.
The French also had a huge colonial holding, which spread the French language far and wide
France today remains a major European power, with the highest amount of nukes in Europe (excluding russia) and with a huge military for a european country.
France
French colonial holdings were surpassed in wealth by the Dutch.
The Dutch!
And how is participating in the Crusades a good thing? Also, France is no longer a military power, as it is far too strongly wed to the EU to be considered independently strong now. Also, the U.S. was the first in the world to implement a republic, and theirs worked
The Soviet Union. If you dont believe me, name a country that killed its own monarchy, created a republic, fighting internal civil war while taking on all of Europe at the same time, and Won!
The Soviet Union.

...what? The Russians overthrew a monarchy, instituted a republic, fought a civil war against enemies from all points of the compass that had the support of the European Great Powers (even if it was lackluster, basically nobody but Austria was seriously opposing France in Europe anyway during the war of the First CoalitionSoviet Union was fighting germany, only one front, unlike France who was surrounded at all fronts and multiple countries.

That sounds pretty equivalent to me.
Finland, the Baltic army of Yudenich, the Ukrainians, Kolchak's army in Siberia, the Czech Legion on the Trans-Siberian Railroad, the Green Armies, (some of) the Don Cossacks, Denikin's volunteer army, the Basmachi rebels, Poland, and then the French, British, and American expeditionary forces that were dispatched to the Civil War.What do you mean enemies from all points? Name them. And dont say Austria cause Austria never helped Germany on the russian front
And Spain barely did anything, Prussia was more worried about Poland, and Britain had no ability to do anything outside of the high seas.Churchill 25 said:France was at with Spain, Britain, Prussia, and Austria, France was surrounded dude.
Napoleon had to go back home right after he did it. The Soviet Union stayed for 45 years.Churchill 25 said:the distance from Russia to Berlin is smaller than the distance from France to Moscow

To name a few.

False. There were around a million - probably more like a million and a half - fighters in the White, Polish, and Allied forces that fought in the Civil War, along with the countless peasants that resisted the war communism acquisitions on a grass-roots level. There's a reason that the war lasted for four years of major fighting and even more of lower-intensity conflict.most of those are small groups of rebels, not countries
The Soviets had the support of the USA, UK, and France in the Cold War? That's news to me.Churchill 25 said:Soviets had the support of USA, UK, and France and thats how they kept control of eastern germany for so long. Napoleon had no support.

That sounds like "them not being stupid" more than "France being 'better' than them somehow".no soviets had their support during the peace talks of WW2
Once upon a time, there was this place called Rome. Also, the U.S. was the first in the world to implement a republic, and theirs worked
Once upon a time, there was this place called Rome.
It's correct, but I don't know if you know why you're right. Do you know much about the federal structure of the Achaian League?Even before that, Greece.
I thought the Roman Republic predated them? It's correct, but I don't know if you know why you're right. Do you know much about the federal structure of the Achaian League?
But not really as a republic per se. In the form it existed in immediately after the Tarquinii were chased out, the Republic was much more like the democracy at Athenai. It only developed many of its other offices later, around the same time as the Achaians, and even then the League had a closer structure to the federal United States than the Romans did.I thought the Roman Republic predated them?
Oh, I'm aware that the Roman Republic wasn't even close to a modern republic, I just thought they predated the Achaeans with their particular model. A check of wiki reveals we're both right. But not really as a republic per se.
