Top 5 worst actors?

does he play pretty much the same part in most of his early movies? sure. he goes from good pilot who doesn't obey the rules to being a great pilot. he goes from being a good pool player who doesn't obey the rules to being a great pool player. he goes from being a horrible attourney who doesn't care and exploits the system to being a good attourney who cares. he goes from being a good agent who doesn't care to being a great agent who does care.

Does he go from a confused character to a miserable confused character... yes. But who cares? Someone payin $8 to watch an open septic tank for 2 hours.

not to argue your point, put what does a red carpet still from 1994 and one from 1008 have anything to do with acting? all I can tell from that is that he has the same old haircut again. the nerve!

Whoever says that Tom Cruise can't act anymore has obviously not seen Tropic Thunder.

No love for Will Ferrell? Surely he has to be on the Top 5 list...

And I echo the sentiment that Adam Sandler is horrible.

Nicholas Cage is good at doing that one single expression of his, over and over again, but I get the impression that he's a little wooden...

Damn... I forgot Johnny Depp. He has the acting ability of a wet sponge :vomit:

I hope this is a joke.

Also, whats with all the Tom Cruise hate? He's had bad performances, but he's not a bad actor. Magnolia anyone?

I would say the same thing about Adam Sandler, when he's actually in dramatic movies he's not that bad. Not fantastic, but not bad either. Ie. films like Punch-Drunk Love, Spanglish and to a lesser extent Funny People.

Tom Cruise is probably the best actor in Hollywood imo.

Hayden Christensen(horrible in both star wars and jumper)

no idea who he played in star wars, the prequel, but who was not horrible in that trilogy? wait, he was annakin, the later, right? meh. decent actors stunk up that movie, I'd rather blame the guy for taking the role in the first place than for his acting.

Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell are both good. Adam Sandler does a type of "fun" movie because it is his thing and he does it well. Happy Gilmore and others were actually pretty good! You just aren't supposed to take them too seriously. Like Shekwan said, look at Punch Drunk Love to see that he can do pretentious crap fairly well if he chooses. It is just en vogue amongst pretentious people to bash him. Same with Ferrell. He has great physical comedy, and few can deliver profanity so hilariously. He is also good at picking out mannerisms and quirks of others, then amplifying them. That is why he makes a good GWB. Basically a comic.

I get tired of the "Audrey Tautou was wonderful in Amelie" crowd. "She perfectly captured the playful, curious, a touch mischievious, yet innocent nature of the role. Divine! Imagine if Ingmar Bergman could have used her for one of his... mmm... fiiilms."
:vomit:

Adam Sandler was great in Happy Gilmore and Click.

Screw you guys. Adam Sandler is the best!

Yeah, perhaps with Adam Sandler it's more the movies that are horrible than him. Because those attempted comedy movies that he was in really are horrible.

@Desmond Hawkins- I stand by my accusation that Will Ferrell is tripe, though. He doesn't deliver profanity well. Perhaps it's just a personal taste thing, but I find comedy that he delivers to be not funny sometimes simply for the reason that he is delivering it, i.e. Mugatu in Zoolander. I think that character could've been much better if it had been done by someone else. But perhaps the most obvious example of his horrendous work is in Anchorman. It is the only movie I have actually given up watching half way. It was utterly horrible. It had no redeeming qualities. It was not funny in the slightest. And most of that was down to Ferrell. Admittedly, what I've seen of his SNL work is pretty good, but his movie work is abominable.

Those were relatively worse roles. He was great as Ricky Bobby in the NASCAR one, and he was good in Step Brothers. He was classic in Old School. His Broadway thing as GWB was really good.

"...big weekend planned! We are going to Home Depot! Okay, okay, just one."

Adam Sandler movies aren't all horrible. Happy Gilmore was a good comedy, especially for its time when comedies weren't as liberated as they are now. Billy Madison and Zohan were funny too. They aren't Animal House good, but they are better than most of the crap that gets put out.

I dont see what with the Cage hate, I havent seen all of his movies that have come as of late but I liked him in Lord of War.

He was pretty good in Gone In 60 Seconds too, for sure. Also Nat'l Treasure.

Not so good in recent years though :twitch:
