Topic Avoidance

It pertains to conduct. That I understand, no porn, nudes, insults, piracy, advertising, etc. I saw nothing about topics being off limits. I'm guessing making a topic about those things isn't off limits? Just so long as they aren't explicit, like giving instructions or posting images. Sarin's probably right, how something is framed is extremely important.

Suggest you look at the Inappropriate Content Section of the CFC Full Rules https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/cfc-full-rules.422889/
Theres a fairly limited set of topics that are off-limit. Outside them Sarin is right, how you frame it is important.

Check the "WHAT IS NOT ALLOWED" bit of - CFC Full Rules -. It has a small number of subjects that are not allowed.

No appreciation of the human form. Only violence and anger and agitation. Attraction is disrespect and dehumanizing. Welcome to the internet of the 21st.

I don't like to discuss nutrition at all. I firmly believe that nobody has a real idea what's going on.

i feel you on this, and yet it's a pretty important topic. there are only a handful or two of topics more relevant to day-to-day quality of life (if that). it is probably the most important thing to me directly where the information on it is a complete sea of garbage with the occasional island of relevance. the garbage piles up so much it's hard to tell the difference though.

looking for information on something when nearly every hit is someone trying to sell you something is frustrating.

if you happen to have access/links to research on stuff like prospective nutrition studies that aren't funded by the product being sold + you found relevant otherwise i'd be happy to see them.

but when it comes to talking to people about it in daily life, my experience is nearly the same as yours. push to eat/not eat this or that, push to buy "organic" stuff, push to follow diet/routine someone else is following (with no sustained results). it's tiresome, the rare time i'd actually prefer we were still talking about the weather.

They aren't topics, that's conduct. No swearing, posting nudes, that type of thing. For instance, I could post a topic about the artistic merits of THE buttocks, just not any pictures of A buttocks.

Buttocks.

Illegal activities, suicidal ideation, overly personal threads, anything that creates liability for the forum pretty much

What if it's a thread about Pirates who have suicidal ideation? But we aren't talking about having ideation personally?

What if we are giving a personal account about a Pirate we know who has suicidal ideation that is creating liabilities for the forum?

No advocating cruelty, violence, hateful or illegal actions will exclude some topics. So long as you aren't planning on any of those you should be Ok.

Advocating others to conduct themselves in a violent or illegal manner is illegal. Therefore, doing so would be conducting oneself in an illegal manner. However, discussing cruel, violent, hateful, or illegal actions, others have taken, is speech.
