Toukon Nes I : The Great War

OOC: does someone really think that Ottoman Army was trained better than the Russian one? Sorry, but I speak from pure nationalism...

My impression is their troops were lousy, but they were pretty good at irregulear warfare and they had a good commander who turned the troops around and bogged down the British at ANZAC.

Meh, c'mon the Russians just HAVE to better, right?

Josef - "fun" - "japan". Depends on pronounciation, ofcourse.

STORMBRINGER! Darn that traitor. :p But, if he agrees to join, I can offer him a position in Galicia as long as my HQ is safe in Petrograd. ;)

Noone commented on my story. Guess that firing squad I've been preparing does have something to do after all...
And about Turks - at Galipoli, it was more like the German specialists, German sea mines and German artillery that did the trick. Ofcourse, Ataturk played a role as well.

(Btw, Gelion - read the stories I linked to yet? ;) )

Announcement - no more field marshalls accepted till the end of the first two months. (I.E. I don't want to have to resend and rewrite future warplans a hundred times due to someone new joining)

Stalin, I will assume that those forces we have at the start could be used from the beginning, and the mobilization will only give us more forces. Btw, will we be able to use them IMMEDIATELY?

Senior General Paul von Hindenburg

Born in Posen in 1847 Paul von Hindenburg visited cadet shools in Berlin and Wahlstatt. He served during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 as a second lieutenant and after the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 he was promoted to the rank of a general. In 1911 at the age of 64 von Hindenburg deceided to retire from the the army. But now in 1914 he recieved a letter by the Commander in Chief Ludwig von Moltke. He was needed again. A position as a Senior General in Eastern Prussia was assigned to him. At once the new Senior General gathered his belongings as he wanted to catch the next train to the east.

OOC: I just stumbled over this map, which is about the railroads of the German Empire. Might be interesting...

The fist slammed into the wooden desk. It did not break, but looked as if it was about to break.

"Damn Uncle Willie." - whispered the Autocrat of All the Russias.

---

The newspaperboys were running in the streets and shouting - "Horrific Austrian provocation! Horrific war is to come soon!"

In a nearby office, the enlistment of "freelydetermined" (volunteers) picked up.

---

They were marchign towards the British embassy, and waving British flags. Russia and Britain were allies once more, allies against a horrible new threat.

On the embassy, a British poster revealed that the ambassador, too, was caught in the patriotic frenzy.

"Tsar declares the Second Patriotic War!" - a newspaperboy shouted.

Commence Semi-Hellfish (in code)!

I read most of it. I have a feeling you wrote them :).... what about my PM das? The last part of it to be exact. And the P.S.?

must we continue calling that a hellfish, i do feel that all of my great victories are getting ignored and my tendancy to be lazy with stories gets all the attention :D

To all nations
From the Head of Her Majesty's imperial forces of Great Britain and the Empire;

All sea trade with germany is considerd to be aiding and abetting the enemy. As such all ships regardless of nationality heading for german ports will find that they are now liable to be stopped and the contents held in Britain. War will not be declared on those attempting trade however you have been forwarned and I urge you not to risk the lives of your men in foolish attempts to breach the home fleet.

Update is tomorrow, right?

Ernst Junger was worried, his men were not as well trained, nor were they as well equiped. Finally his country was not mobilized. His King meanwhile sat on a paper thin treaty hoping both sides would in effect ignore the country. Ernst placed very little faith in the honesty of the other countries.

Just to show how ernst I am i want my country mobilized! Cross one problem of the list (sure it might take a while...)

Honoured, but no. Btw, did you like the Десять Лет one? That one is my favorite there.

Josef - I was under impression that "pun" is pronounced as "pan" (as in, Polish nobleman).
