Ori's sounds a little better. Not so close to the text, but the English sounds crappy anyways (always the same verb in the English one) :p
[Frankly I wanted to do that too, but didn't think it was a good idea to change too much]

I've just checked the German version of Civ as well (I don't play it that much) and I've to say that Ori's version is perfectly cohesive with the terms used there. So, go for Ori :goodjob:

I noticed a typo also in English (perminate instead of permanent) and in Russian too (i think this is english, not Rusian, siance i can read it :))

My suggestions for German and French. I shall try to find some better sentences for French, because my French became lousy after 23 years. I replaced "permanent" by "unaufhörlich" because many Germans do not understand this term.

My suggestions for German and French. I shall try to find some better sentences for French, because my French became lousy after 23 years. I replaced "permanent" by "unaufhörlich" because many Germans do not understand this term.

Ahhhh - the german translation sounds awful :lol: (especially what you got from babelfish)

1st: "schliessen" is wrong! It must say "schließen" !!!!
2nd: "unaufhörlich" sounds really funny. Please use "permanent", this is a common german word and any German should know what it means.

I marked my corrections red and my suggestions green

EDIT: One more question: I cannot found the word "Perminate" in any english dictionary. Shouldn't it say "permanent"?

EDIT2: Reading it again forces me to edit again. Please don't use "unaufhörlich". It is really very bad german and you would never read it in any newspaper in Germany when talking about military agreements. Try "www.dict.cc" and you will see that "permanent" is translated with "permanent"

The other translations are sounding good

EDIT: If these lines are too long, I think I can cut off some words to get them shorter

Since there are now a couple of German translations here just one thing: I used the German versions of the respective treaties:
open borders = Offene Grenzen
defensive pact = Verteidigungsbündnis
permanent alliance = Allianz
whoever translated the game did not make a good job in the first place but they used those names and I would suggest using those for the alerts as well. Other than that all German versions here are good so again
@Denniz: good luck choosing :evil: maybe use dice ;)

@Ori: I agree with you in using the common translations from the german version of the game. Using "Allianz" instead of "permanente Allianz" saves a little bit of space too.

@Denniz: Please use "schließen" instead of "schliessen" whereever you find it. "schliessen" is incorrect german language! To summarize, everything I marked red in my previous posts is incorrect.

Yeah, I was think of locking the thread to cut down on any more versions. :mischief:

I think I know how to solve the problem, though. I hereby appoint you the Official HOF Translator for the German language. I will let you decide on a compromise version. :D :mischief:

In Russian version we can terminate any Permanent Alliance at will, don't you know? That's why it's called Perminate :D
 
Lexad! I think "&#1056;&#1072;&#1079;&#1088;&#1077;&#1096;&#1077;&#1085;&#1086;" will look better than "&#1052;&#1086;&#1078;&#1085;&#1086;". More official.

@Lexad & @Gosha190, I got Swan to provide the Russian translation since we need it converted to unicode so that the characters display right.

I have no idea what it says but he did all the other Russian translations for the mod so you can judge from that.
