travelling across the US, where to visit

If you go in summer, and don't mind spending a little money, Six Flags Great America is about 40 miles north of Chicago, and is a sweet amusement park. Plus, I live right there. So that's cool.

Actually, Chicago was my first stop on this trip. My friend got married two weeks ago there. Just stayed a day because I've visited the city a few times already. I will probably spend some money now and then, but I don't know if I would for an amusement park. I was really tempted to go see Body Worlds in Saint Paul, MN. But I'm not heading back in that direction so I might just wait until I get to Denver or Houston. I'm still tempted. It's fascinating.

I'm not a resident of US, and after spending 3 months in California and whereabouts I say: Vegas is a must to see.

Vegas is deffinately worth seeing at some point in your lifetime, but I would save it as a seperate trip. You can get lost in a casino for hours at a time, and all of a sudden you've lost all the money you had for the rest of the trip. There is alot of free entertainment though if you can resist the temptation to thorw all you money away on gambling, or any of the other expensive atractions. Hover Dam is nearby though. Go there, it's free, important, historical, and a marvel of modern engineering.

Missouri has some nice natural areas to see down in the south west part of the state. In the ozark mountain areas. Mark twain national forest and there are alot of lakes. Arkansas and missouri border has alot of nice clear lakes to swim and fish in.

Beside that, st louis would be cool to see. They have this huge zoo and of course the arch. Springfield has the largest outdoor sporting good store(BassPro); which they call a museum, but its mostly just fish tanks and dead stuffed animals all over the place. I don't have much to say about Kansas City other than their food. :D

You could probably skip Kansas alltogether, you won't really be missing anything.
 Dude, how can you visit Kansas and skip Mt. Sunflower, the highest point in Kansas?!
