Trick Pass It On Quiz

Cheer, Rik!

I'll give it to Halycon, though it wasn't suicide. The man was in the sauna, and someone came in with an icycle in the flask, to stop it from melting. Then, the first man was stabbed with the icicle, and the murderer went away, leaving the flask, as the icycle melted into a puddle.

I doubt that the question is looking for a deep psychological analysis of motive. He could equally have been murdered by his arch nemesis, Thermos Man.

The other possibility is that some guy came and stabbed him, then left. Nowhere does it say that the sauna is sealed, you see. If it is sealed, then the guy has to have been stabbed with either a thermos flask or a puddle of water. Water's not generally much good for stabbing in liquid form, though we're assuming that the flask isn't shaped like a javelin.

Edit: You posted before I finished, Noncon. Still, I've no questions, so it's open.

i'll go, the question can be found here

and if you know i'd request you didn't tell, but hey, no one's stoping you (especially if you have a good question to ask

I got it, but I don't have a good question... what should I do?

You know, I read the entire article before I even really started on the question.
My fate was more like Louise's than Bill's. :)

the thing about the question was about the people who already know the answer and have see it before, Tomoyo (assuming she posts the correct answer in her new question otherwise it's Sesnof Wthr's as he told me the answer in a PM) gets the question although you can always pass it wghoever you want

and in case your curious PM me for the answer, although not after you really tried

How annoying. That took me nearly an hour, and probably longer had a few rolls not turned out all sixes and fours.. and one three. That's despite realising after about twelve seconds that it was non-mathematical. Oh well. Serves me right for thinking about the arrangement of petals on a flower...

to tell the truth, i never understood it (i did it like Sesn did and read the thing before working on an answer) and i really didn't try to hard to come up with an answer, i just did a google search on it, and i won't tell youexactly which page does tell you the answer (i don't think any links on the first page do, although i know at leat pne of them links to a page with the wanswer, whoch is how i gound out

I did misunderstand when you asked to not spoil the question, Ybbor.

EDIT: The previous answer is that a one could be considered the rose. Thus, the only time the rose has petals is when a three or five is rolled. You simply add up the number of "petals". (three has two, and five has four)

I know it's Tomoyo's, but I have one, and perhaps I can beg for forgiveness from another Believer.

A rope ladder is hanging over the side of a ship. The ladder is 12
feet long, and the rungs are one foot apart. The lowest rung is
resting on the top of the ocean. The tide rises at the rate of four
inches per hour. How long will it take before the first four rungs
of the ladder are under water?

36 inches plus twice the diameter of the rope, which we'll call an inch, which would take 9.5 hours were the tide rising to flood the world. Herein lies the problem, of course, in that tides are approximately diurnal and the time between low tide and high tide is rarely much more than seven hours. As such, it wouldn't happen at all.

It will take forever, since the ship and the ladder go up and down with the tide.

Well, that's certainly more to the point. Although I suppose the ship could be stuck on a rock, or something. Pah.

never, ships rise with the tide too.BTW, tide in the ocean?

I know it's Tomoyo's, but I have one, and perhaps I can beg for forgiveness from another Believer.
I pmed Ybbor to let you have the question when I sent him the answer, but I forgot to tell you. :smoke:

Sorry for the delay. El Sop is right. The ladder is attached to the boat, which, of course, rises along with the tide.

EDIT: I'm tempted to give it to Halcyon, as he did end up with the right answer, but he entirely overthought it.
