Ok, a few things happened this turn. A settler was built in Shen Ling, it and a pike escort have moved to the city site. When they moved there, they uncovered a GCA horse fortified one tile away from the site. Also, a pike was built in Cha Ching and workers are moving toward a mining site near Zhi Gang. In addition, the sword to the north defeated another barbarian horse but is now down to 2/5 health and may be killed soon.

Screenshots of the screen and the minimap will be attached in posts below.

Ack... I just looked at the scoreboard in the above post! Anyone else notice that Firaxis is out? We're down to 5.

Yea. It's kinda crazy that that team went out.

And another one bites the dust....

I'm suprised no one took the opportunity to remark about the loss to the Firaxians at the Conquests chat ;)

i missed the chat but I would have loved to have mentioned it.

Bootstoots, once again thanks for playing the turn :)

Yes, Firaxis has bitten the dust. Sources tell me that GWT is responsible for the killing.

Let's also think about drawing one pike out of both Yun Qiuling and Cha Ching to help defend the new city.

Not to mention the fact that the new city needs a name. Ju Yaosai, meaning Great Fortress (the primary function of the town) is my proposal.

Ju Yaosai sounds cool!:)

GWT must be a great and powerful civ... Is it good? I don't think so...

actually i think GCA genocide is a bad idea

My personal hope is that we beat them back to the balance of power and fortify the city beyond belief.

Then I hope apolyton and the GCA fight to a standstill. This would allow us to build up to being their equal, and would help to prevent further war.

I like Ju Yaosai as well, and I would not support genocide of GCA though if their empire was completely defeated and split between Poly and us I wouldn't mind in the least. ;)

Out of curiosity, why are we so far behind? Is it because to get going we've needed to cut down so many trees (i.e. we've had the production but our lack of food is terrible?) Is it because everyone else started near cows and bonus grasslands? It seems our strategies have been fair enough...

And just a reminder, please vote in this ever important poll http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64642

Our score is behind because we haven't had the time we would have liked to properly expand. Also, we made the decision to, early on, build up improvements in Shen Ling - that granary and barracks. That lowered the early number of settlers we had to work with. Our assumption had been we'd be multiplying like rabbits at this point in time, not fighting off GCA.

I see... that makes a lot of sense. But now we are expanding at a better rate so its all gravy :)

Hmm... I like the idea of fighting at least to BoP. I think we should try to capture it ASAP, even before the other two cities, as then they would be cut off from reinforcements... It would be good, if we could make it...

Countdown to 300 posts: 4!:)
