or even a beter one canonos with muskest , and will get 2 great techs and will cost us 7175 beakers(i count here we will bulb 1800 towards chemestry and i didnt count that, if we count that would be near 8700 beakesr, still way chaeper then the other option and still and chemistry are both great techs to have).And belive me no one wants to run in canons.personaly i think that would be the best option.
 
If we are going to be in a defensive position against RB, cannons looks a better option
 
Even if RB goes for Rifles, they'll probably send them in other direction if we have grenadiers. Doesn't make much sense to send rifles towards opponents who have cannons and grenadiers waiting if there is a better target available. Unless of course they have a lot of Knights or Cavalry. On that note, what does RB's current stack consist of? Knights and catapults?
 
Yes, RB army currently is consisting of knights, maces and catapults mainly. About 15-20 maces, 15 catapults and 10-15 knights. Also few Elephants - 5-10 maybe. It is not 100% correct info though.

More and more my confidence that RB will just defend their new fiefs increases. I wished for this ever since we got in this damned war with French, but I was always saying to myself we must be prepared for the worst. But it just dont makes any sense for RB to attack anyone other than to possibly break a plotting alliance with quick strong blow. If we, CP and Poly keep our firm intention to not give NAP to RB in any event, even if we are invaded, we must be good and RB will have no other choice but make circular defense and try to develop their land hoping to have the time to catch up using their huge amount of land.

Even Bistrita proposed that we 3 declare war and invade RB in a single turn. This will force RB in to mass whipping and slaving. Even if we then decide to retreat, the damage to RB will be already done. Unhappiness, pop slaved and drafted in soldiers, which soldiers just lay around and need to be fed :) Even if we get lucky, we can make them mad and they try their luck in attack against someone and then get slaughtered on enemy territory?

Anyway, those are just speculations. What is depending on us is that we must have cannons at t 170-171, so we can switch to PS, slavery and possibly Nationhood and quickly raise an army. Theocracy powered cannons will be so nice to have :) Aided by drafted musketeers, this will be all we will need for long time to defend.

For this to happen we will need to launch our GA with one of the GSs in very short. Like 1-2 turns from now. Now it is t 158 and we aim for starting whipping Cannons after teching Steel in 12-13 turns. This will require beside the GA, massive sacrifices in building wealth and setting whole bunch of REP specialists. We need to make like 700 bpt for the next 12 turns to make it for the cumulative 8000 beakers we will need beside the ~2000 beakers we will get from bulbing part of Chemistry. This will give us Gunpowder, Chemistry, Steel and Theocracy.

Again, we face the old dilemma - how to use specialists, when we will have GA and we will want each tile worked to get the GA bonus commerce and hammers. :)

Any ideas/comments on those?

3 techs actually. Plus he finished teching some tech on his own. 105 points for 1 turn, not bad, not at all bad MZ ;)
 
I can tell. Engineering and Nationalism for sure. What is the third, I dont know. He will now tech Rifling on himself. No one in the game have Rifling yet.

This will also make our life easier in post-RB-war world. We have much easier job to keep CP as an ally and find new allies if Poly is higher in scores than we are.

Poly will also make a more inviting target if they have a weak army with high-tech. RB my just want to kill them off quickly before they become a real threat.

Nah, RB will most probably only want to protect what is theirs. This makes the most sense for them. Not to mention to kill off with maces and catapults a nation able to draft rifles from 20 cities is nearly impossible. I've seen this, but in a 2-city elimination game. This simply cant happen in this game. And MZ is competent defender.
