The economic downturn here and also in most other EUlands means that i too have to try somewhat to sustain my cis-2nd world standard of living. The main plan is to continue what i now do, ie get more paid deals for my philosophy seminar, get more paid book deals, maybe find a part-time job in a publishing house which seems doable at the moment. Those will need some concenraction effort on my part, but can be done. This can be termed as plan A.

I suppose i will try to weather the storm in that way. Or go with plan B.

Plan B is to produce a proof (against) on Riemann's hypothesis, showing that it is resting on an inherently futile notion (the imaginary and complex numbers being also an artificial boundary to more groups and numbers).

This can happen. Around a month prior to myself building an earth-feeding Titan, which will kill off all other humans. Cause due to my first work i can get some cash from the Fields medal or related contests.

The Titan will come after it. Basically the thing would be an 'automaton', but given it self-forms by devouring elements in the soil, i can just bury it at first and wait for it to expand like a sea anemone or rather the most ferocious of ant-lions.
I can use most of the Fields medal cash to buy some books i still need to finalise the prototype*, but it should not matter cause it will bring the complete end of our mess of a human species.

Hmmm, maybe i can ask for crowd-funding too... I mean most people online seem to be misanthropes. :D

No. I wouldn't.

And I don't see how killing off humanity is going to net you any cash to repay your investors, either.

There's something heavily stereotypical about a plan to destroy entire world with the help of crowd funding to solve one's personal economic issues.

Can't quite put my finger on it though...:mischief:

No. I would not.

If I have understood this correctly you plan to start a crowd funded development to kill off humans to prove that it cannot be done?

You misunderstood me (let alone that it was nasty you thought i meant that...).
My plan is to get enough money to do stuff i like. The sub-cthonian Titan is a likely side-effect, but i would first try traditional methods. Ever played the game Amnesia: The Dark Descent? Think of my project as one to open a portal, without the portal having to be there in the end anyway. :)

Getting to the limit is all that matters.

You jest :D We all know that austrian painter is hugely popular in Estonia and Finland, and influencing haircuts for the youth :mischief:

It may be a good idea to go ahead with the creation of the subterranian Talos machine, and ask funding from Germany, since they may like the mentioned side-effect of utterly obliterating the ground here (but going by current events they probably won't realise this effect will spread to Germany in a few seconds :D ).

That is way too non-Byzantine and i won't do it.

Hmm. Putting yourself in a number of circumstances detrimental to you and then holding to the very last bits until someone puts you out of your misery?
Very Byzantine, indeed!

That, along with a myriad other stuff both positive, negative, and downright hell-spawning.

Going for Titan? I think Ground Batteries are the better choice. I suggest combining them with Plasma Cannons.
