UI - Improved City View (Vox Populi with EUI)

I have just managed to run this mod. At first it wasn't clear to me that I have to check Small UI in video options.
I just want to say: great work! :)

ok, maybe a real issue this time lol in the City View, upperleft City Yields display a city with 1 tourism shows 51 tourism. the tooltip readout is correct in identifying 1 tourism output though, and the real output is also 1. likely related to the recent tourism changes

@Deadstarre ICV is just EUI/VP city view with few changes. Most of them are on the right side: gp meters, GWs, specialists.
To find out if the problem is in ICV or just city view, simply reload a game with ICV disabled and see if the issue is still there. If yes, then it’s EUI/VP issue, if not, then it’s ICV.

im almost glad i confirmed it is this mod the issue, saves me from looking really stupid again.

anyway, without this mod EUI city view shows 0.3 tourism (correctly accounts for tourism penalty in city yields, although tooltip still reads 1)

with this mod city view shows 30 tourism

Is there a way to get this mod to work without having to choose "small interface" in video settings? Everything gets so tiny when you do this, it's unbearable.

So I am new to all this, I am just using EUI which is installed in the DLC folder, How can I get this compact mode with just that and not vox populi or something, I don't want to go through the mod menu because I am trying for achievements. Is it possible?

There's a vanilla version of ICV (not VP) in Steam Workshop. Subscribe to download this. If you want to use this mod and still get achievements, make a modpack with the Mod and place it in the DLC folder. Your game will think it's a DLC and will give you achievements.

As you didn't specifically respond to my suggestion a few pages back, I'm going to suggest it again, in case you missed it or misunderstood. If you already thought it's a bad idea then apologies for raising it again.

If you add the file cityview.xml to your mod and make it an exact copy of cityview_small.xml, then that takes away the need to specify the small interface. It also means people who would prefer the 'non-small' interface can continue to use it for everything except the city screen.

@psparky I have been inactive for some time, missed it.
So, in effect somebody who is normally using non-small-UI (i.e. normal) interface would have this window redesigned into small-UI version. Isn't easier just to switch on the small-UI?
I don't use non-small-UI, like ever, so I don't know if there are any differences in other windows? It seems to me that the CityView is kind of exception here, so it has 2 .xmls.

There are about five or six other _small xml files, including UnitPanel. These are used whenever the "small" interface is selected, either by ticking the option, or if the game considers that it's appropriate given the screen resolution. 1920x1080 uses the small interface and I believe anything bigger than that use the "standard" files.

I don't know if ticking the option has any other effect on the interface. I only play at 1920x1080.

The reason for my suggestion is so that people with larger resolutions don't need to select the small interface when they use this mod. Also, people won't suffer a messed up city view if they forget or miss that part of the instructions. The impact of the mod will be limited solely to the city view. I also noticed the small interface warning was propagated to recent mod packs that include the mod.

I don't actually use the mod myself as I have invested a lot of blood, sweat and tears into configuring the city view to my own preferences before I even started on VP (mainly when I had to play on very low resolutions), but I do think it's a big improvement (as advertised!) on the standard view and has several features I'm tempted to steal. My only other user, my brother, has a bigger screen and duplicating the small files as standard files is the workaround I use so that he can use my version.
