Thanks. I didnt do much to it really. I've been meaning to ask, did you create it yourself or find it somewhere? because the helmet isnt 100% right for the pathfinder (a proper one would jut out more at the back and curve down further) so if there is a pathfinder helmet out there i'd like to use that

Thanks guys. I'm gonna try and fix the helmet, but if i cant i cant. I'm also not 100% happy with the missile and markerlight animation. how do you see the markerlights? i've animated it as a white beam

gun drone and sniper drone. not sure how to animate explosions, so the death animation is gonna have to wait for a bit

I made the helmet myself. If it just needs to stick out further in the back and curve down a bit more, then you could probably accomplish that by creating a morph target in Poser.


Oh, and the drones look awesome! Great job.

EDIT: just realised that the drone is lit up during the fortify. looks like i gotta render that one again. bugger

The animations there look great. Really nice unit. It is a shame that you'll need to rerender the fortify.

The only suggestion that I would offer would be to make the death a little more animated. I don't know how this would look if actually done, but I think adding a counterclockwise y-rotate to the main body of the drone as it falls would give the impression that it's falling out of control or something to that effect—maybe so it completes .75 rotations or so before hitting the ground.
 
Yeah, i wasn't 100% happy with the death. Deaths are my least favourite animation for any kind of unit. I attempted to make it try and correct itself then crash in the opposite direction, but it came out way too jerky so i settled on this. i'll try adding a spin, got a feeling that might work out well
 
Ok, re-did the fortify and death for the gun drone and did the sniper drone as well. added a small 1/4 spin for the gun drone and a 3/4 spin for the sniper.

Ok, I assume no one has anything more to say bout the drones

Here's a little something. Question: should the civ colour be the main body (as it is now) or should the body be grey/black and the black shields on the legs be civ coloured?

Ok, another question. for the run, should it move one leg at a time? eg, front left, rear right, front right, rear left. or should it move opposite legs at the same time? eg, front left and rear right, then front right and rear left

or, do you think the defiler would use its claws as extra limbs when walking around? in that case it'd be something like left claw, front right, rear left, then right claw, front left, rear right
 
Good work, Lizzy! Where did you get the model?

I think the colour scheme looks good that way. I think the unit could move opposing legs simultaneously - it's pretty fast unit I think.
