UNIT PREVIEW: Samurai Musketeer

That's basically the plan, yes. The Samurai Musketeer and the Samurai Cavalry have been rendered in their entirety for some time, and the Meiji Rifleman is still in the works.

I have one suggestion, and this goes for all Poser users. Can you adjust Michael to fit more closely the proportions of the original civ units?

This requires shortening the figure and thickening arms, legs and torso. Micahel is just too skinny to work well at Civ Level. So, it requires some alterations to make the units match up to the originals.

My understanding is that this is possible and would allow you to still use clothes that conform to body morfs.

I've already been altering Michael's proportions... I decreased the height of the figure by 90%, thickened the arms and legs and feet by 125% and increased the size of the head by 110%.

Are you saying that the previews I've provided for these three units are still not "squat" enough? If that's the case, I'll change it for the next units I do, but I'm certainly not going to undo all the work I've already done for these...

For future projects, Kal-El... I've beefed up Michael somewhat... over the top?

Dom, I suggest taking Kinboat's figure that he posted and then trying to match Michael up as closely as possible with that. My first impression of that Michael you have up there is that his thighs are a bit too big. The best thing to do is to pose him next to a couple of the original units such as the Swordsman, Hoplite, and Rifleman. I think those three give good proportions to compare with.

edit: you posted while I was writing. :) nope he doesn't look too thin, in fact I would say it looks like he has a fat butt, but then again white is never very flattering. :)

Of course, I KNOW somebody's going to make an inappropriate remark, but here goes anyway...

Except for the feet, the difference seems pretty slight between my original modified Michael and the Paperdoll.

I dunno... there's benefits to using both... Kinboat has made some nice costumes for this paperdoll, but any accessories added are going to be difficult to conform to the figure...

I am wondering though if it might not be better to do the Cut and Paste Pack using the Paperdoll rather than the Michael model I've been using......

Two things that I think would help would be to make your Michaels feet and head bigger. If those two parts of the body were bigger the figure would be more expressive.

Just a thought. :)

Yes, those were the two things I was thinking. Definitely the feet anyway, there's a sizable difference between the feet.

*sigh* I really do have to learn the 3DS Max. Then I can make my own clothes for Michael... or the Paperdoll too, I suppose.
