Unit requests thread

You should post it in a thread. ;)

Ok...If someone can help, please, I'd need a railway gun for my mod.

Like this.

It should be like the 320 mm French railgun (the one up right in the wiki page linked), with the Paris Gun's barrel.

The Paris Gun.

I know it would be unbalanced and so on, but i don't care: it won't be a storical mod, and there will be more ways to keep it balanced ;)

So, if someone can, really thanks :D

I've started the 305mm French Railway gun from WW1 (visually it looks almost exactly like the 320mm), and am planning on making the Paris Gun as well as Big Bertha. Both will be featured in Blood and Iron, the new WW1 mod I'm working on.

How'd you make the flamethrower alazkan?

It's great! :D

Blender for the modeling, nifviewer, XVI32.exe for hexediting the animation file, and one acquired effect file for the flame.

The V-22 Osprey would be a really cool unit...but i think difficult to realize...or not?
Could be a UU for the American Civ and replacing any transport Helicopters, for example..

I would like to see more ancient/medieval siege units, and some elephant unit with rifles/cannon.

Great! Can I use it, can't I? Pleeeeeeaseeee :D

How about the Surcouf a WW2 French "underwater cruiser"- (a beefed up sub) that disappeared in the Burmuda Triangle

A bit of a unique request.....can someone possibly do a locomotive unit.

Something like a 2-8-2 "Consolidation" type train. Does not have to be specific and can be generic. As long as it is 1930 or 1940 vintage steam.

Thanks in advance

"Disappeared"? That's conspiracy theory for you...

An official joint U.S. and Free French report stated that she left Bermuda on 12 February and was accidentally rammed and sunk by the American freighter Thompson Lykes off the north coast of Panama near the Panama canal. The report states that the accident was due to both vessels running at night with no lights because of the menace of German U-boats. A later French investigation commission stated that the Surcouf had been sunk by US planes in the morning of the 18th in a "friendly fire" accident in the same area.

If anyone wants help I could convert the trains from railroads. :mischief:
Or I could make it myself... :nya:
Where would it go though? On railroads? :hmm:

The Surcouf was transported to another dimension and they talked with the crew of the USS Eldridge and when they got back the U.S. blew it up to cover up the incident.

At any rate the Surcouf is a unique WW2 French underwater cruiser that had a catapult to launch a seaplane, anti aircraft guns and cannon and a turretted Gun up front. The greatest warship of ww2
ahead of its time and the British and Americans were jealous.

Ummm... okay....

1) It's just a sub with some 8" guns... it's not a cruiser.

2) "Ahead of it's time" means years later, everyone catches on and starts making ships like it... it's been 60 years and we're still waiting for all the Surcouf copies of subs with big guns... maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all...

3) "Greatest warship of WW2"? How many enemy ships did she sink? How well did France do in the war because of the Surcouf?

Having said that... I have no problem with someone making this model... I'd just tame-down these claims of greatness... the Surcouf was a white elephant... nothing else.

Many modern ship designers have stated (referring to stealth ships) that most surface ships in the future will have stealth and will be submersible. Very much in tune with the underwater cruiser idea.

The Surcouf also had large fuel tanks- anticipating the prolonged
missions of modern subs.

Well it does depend how you look at it. The guns were simply an effort to overcome the limitations of most of the available torpedoes of the day as well as provide sufficient ordnance for long patrols. The important part for sub ops was the aircraft. Submarines have always been limited in thier ability to seek out and find the enemy. Aerial surveilance greatly increases the chance of a successful location and intercept of potential targets. Todays surveilance and comms networks as well as the potential for the carriage of UAV's are a much more developed version of this capability. Still "greatest warship of WWII" is rather overstating things. It wasn't actually unique either in terms of guns carried or aircraft.
