has anyone done a WW2 era Cruiser or "pocket battleship" by any chance?
Which one - A, B, C(Deutschland/Lutzov, Spee, Sheer) or D, E(Sharnhorst, Gneizenau)?

i'd really like to see this tank done it is the T-84MBT for the Ukrane,
but i'd use it for Mongols since there is no Ukrane in the game.
maybe snafusmith might be up to the challenge?

i'd like to see this baby in the light cream, brown & green color scheme
(like the middle pic is done in)
Thanks guys.

See attached picture. Also, be prepared to be blown away by the poly count... 737. I went nuts cutting down on the poly so it would work better in the game. Any of my other tanks would have been into the 1600 range for the level of detail.

Greetings Civilian Modders

Imp building an Afrikaner civilization. I am looking for a willing soul that will develop a UU for the Afrikaners.

Named the 'Boer Kommando'.

Short history:
Guerrilla tactics were used extensively by the forces of the Afrikaner republics in the Second Boer War in South Africa 1899-1902. After the British defeated the Boer armies in conventional warfare and occupied their capitals of Pretoria and Bloemfontein, Boer commandos reverted to mobile warfare. Units led by leaders such as Christian de Wet harassed slow-moving British columns and attacked railway lines and encampments. The Boers were almost all mounted and possessed long range magazine loaded rifles. This gave them the ability to attack quickly and cause many casualties before retreating rapidly when British reinforcements arrived. In the early period of the guerrilla war, Boer commandoes could be very large, containing several thousand men and even field artillery. However, as their supplies of food and ammunition gave out, the Boers increasingly broke up into smaller units and relied on captured British arms and ammunition.

Hi there!

I have admired all these wonderful units, these very talented artists, like nautil, Rabbit, White and snafusmith - to name a few - have made. And you are so fast too. :)

It seems that you have made so many wonderful units, that you are running out of ideas. So I give you this list of some useful units, that are - to my best knowledge - still missing.

World War II tanks:

M26 Pershing
The M-26 Pershing was developed to counter the threat posed by the German Tiger tank and its 88mm gun during the final stages of World War II.

M18 Hellcat
M18 Hellcat was designed from the start to be a tank destroyer. It is recorded as being the fastest tracked armored fighting vehicle during the World War II.

M10 Wolverine
The M10 was numerically the most important US tank destroyer of World War II.

T-34/85
It was the world's best tank when the Soviet Union entered the Second World War, and is credited as the war's most effective and influential design. In late 1943, the improved T-34-85 was introduced, with a more powerful gun. (There is a T-34 model, but I think it is T-34/76.)

IS-2
The Iosif Stalin heavy tank (or IS tank, named after the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin), was designed with thick armour to counter the German 88 mm gun, and a powerful gun that was effective against the new German Tiger and Panther tanks.

Modern armor:

Challenger 2
Current main battle tank of the British Army.

Leclerc
French main battle tank.

Leopard 2
German main battle tank. Leopard 2 would be good replacement for modern armor, because it's sold in many countries like Switzerland, Canada, Holland and Finland. Then M1 Abrams could be used as 'American only' armor.

Other units:

Roman Legionary
IMHO Legionary is more natural choice for Roman unique unit. Praetorians were in reality special force of bodyguards used by Roman Emperors.

Well, it's interesting to see, if any of these suggestions are going to be made. Anyway, keep up the good work...

Nautil and Snafusmith? Whether is at you in plans to make MiG-35, Su-34 and T-90S MBT?

Su-34 desc.
The Su-34 will be one of the three high performance aircraft that are planned to form the core of the future Russian Air Force, along with the Yak-130 advanced trainer and a new multi-functional fighter (PAK-FA). The Strike Flanker was in competition with the Su-30 to replace the Su-24 and was successful due to the potential of growth of the avionics, since it had twice the space in relation to the other airplanes of the Flanker family.

T-90S MBT desc. (Vladimir)

Derived from the T-72, the GPO Uralvagonzavod T-90 main battle tank is the most modern tank in the army arsenal. The successor to T-72BM, the T-90 uses the gun and 1G46 gunner sights from T-80U, a new engine, and thermal sights. Protective measures include Kontakt-5 ERA, laser warning receivers, and the SHTORA infrared ATGM jamming system.

By 1992 the Russian Defense Ministry announced that it could no longer afford to manufacture two MBTs in parallel. Since both the "quality" T-80U and the cheaper "quantity" T-72B were each being built at one plant, and each plant was critical to the economy of the city it was in, the Government gave small orders to both. Omsk built five T-80Us and Nizhni Tagil 15 T-72s, and both built more against the hope of winning large export orders. Nizhni Tagil had built a few T-72BMs, T-72Bs upgraded with a third generation add-on Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) called Kontakt-5, which was already in service on T-80U.

To further improve the T-72's export prospects and its chances of being selected as Russia's sole production MBT, the T-80U's more sophisticated fire control system was also added to produce a vehicle designated T-72BU. Finally, since worldwide news coverage during Desert Storm had firmly established the image of the T-72 as a burning Iraqi tank, the new model was renamed T-90.

The Russian Defense Ministry made a selection of a single MBT in 1995. The fighting in Grozny had been shown around the world and the reputation of Russian tanks was sullied. Although many casualities were due to bad tactics and many T-72s were also lost, it was the knocked-out T-80s which made an impression. More had been expected of the "quality" M-80 MBT. This is alleged to have tipped the balance against the T-80 in the selection. The T-80 was already more expensive and its delicate, fuel-hungry turbine engine was still giving problems. In January 1996, Col.-Gen. Aleksandr Galkin, Chief of the Main Armor Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, announced that the T-90 had been selected as the sole Russian MBT.

During the International Defense Exposition (IDEX) held in Abu Dhabi in 1995, the system was shown fitted to a Russian MBT. The first known application of the system is the Russian T-90 MBT that entered service in the Russian Army in 1993. Shtora-1 is currently installed on the T-80UK, T-80U, T-84 and T-90 MBTs.

@ArdRaeiss

I'll take any cruiser like ship, somthing like yet distinct from the current Battleship. I need an in between from the destroyer to the battelship class.

@Erkenstan
I agree with all your suggestions and second them (I'd also had that the Challenger looks like somone slapped it together from a field artillery piece, also I think you can see throwbacks to the earlier german panzers in the leopard 2).

I really need some C.I.S. units for my mod, I need...
1.A swords man with a battle droid head or a battle droid with with a sword
2 a battle droid
3. a super battle droid
4. vulture droid
5.a AAT
6. and GENERAL GRIEVOUS with my Magna gaurds:D

Greeting Modders

I need urgent assistance! I request a design from all you brilliant unit designers a UU for the Afrikaners. We are three guys designing the CIV, but no one to design the unit.

I refer you to my earlier post above. The unit looks similar to the Cavalry unit change to the following:

1) Hat change.
2) Adding a beard.
3) Ammunition belts across the upper torso.
4) A simple dark jacket with kaki's underneath.

Please help!

Thank you

All I want with this one is to make the existing Galley look less Viking and more Ancient.

Yes please. I would like that as well-

Hear hear. The gap from knight to 19. cent. cavalry is too big.

they are more and more units from star wars... anyone could make star trek related models (someone is working in a star trek mod).

Thanks!

I'd like the plane the Aurora Bomber. Pics and information can be found here: http://www.fas.org/irp/mystery/aurora.htm .....Bill Sweetman's Aurora.....should be fairly easy to do. I'd do it myself, but i have absolutely no 3ds max skills :(

PS. I'd like it to be alllll black :)

Thanks in advance :)

PPS. A F-22 Fighter, a F-35 Fighter, a vertical takeoff carrier for the F-35, and Robotic Infantry too if i'm not asking too much. :)
Thank a hell of a lot! :D
hehe

Edit: Just found a model for the F-35 :D

2nd Edit: Need a radar truck too

And of course the Ju-88 would be essential, especially with the WW2 leaders that will be coming out in the 1st X-pack. Ju-88, someone needs to do that bomber.

Dear Unit Makers of Civ 4,

I humbly request the creation of a nuclear bomber. Perhaps a B-29 as a first generation nuclear bomber and then upgrade to a B-52? If that is too much for you, may you just do the B-52?

Sincerely,
leonel

Hi.

I'd like to request a War of the Worlds type enemy.

It's a tripod:

But to simplify things, perhaps you could make it like a squid.
A squid somewhat like my amateur Paint job:
