Unit requests thread

i would very much like a polynesian double hulled canoe or catameran (sp?) for unique unit for polynesian civ in my giant earth map mod.

see this link for pic and historical info http://www.pbs.org/wayfinders/polynesian2.html

It abilities ingame would be ocean going naval unit strenght 1 cargo 1 move 3.
It would replace either scout(!!!) or galley. it would be available with fishing or hunting rather than sailing so they could start with right from the get go. Would allow polynesians to spread real quick around the islands they start on.

more info and pics..

Also i would like (pretty please:)) a nice model of Iran's revolutionary guards is field uniform rather than dress uniform..

This it best pic i could find on google..

in game they would replace marines and their stats would be the same as marines but they would start with guerilla 1 as well as the standard amphibious,(alternatively G1 and G2 and no amphibious) they would also have a 25% vs armour.

while we are on an iranian theme how about an authentic persian immortal?

As you can see immortals were foot soldiers armed with bows and spears; incidently they also extremely well dressed.

In game i suppose they would either be archers with a bonus versus mounted OR spearmen with some first strikes and a bonus defending hills/cities. take you pick.

White Rabbit made one already.

As for the stats, that's defined in CIV4UnitInfos, so it's your choice how you want to work it.

I am about to start on an ambitious Europe modpack, which will include all European civs (modern, industrial, renaissance, medieval, classical and ancient included), all "European" religions, all European wonders etc.

It is going to be a pretty big project and I wanted to try and give all the civs their own flavored units as much as is possible. So I need some people who could volunteer to help me by taking up a civ or two. A lot are already covered but the ones I can think of off the top of my head are;

Ukraine
Serbia
Ireland
Scotland
Finland
Lithuania
Bulgaria
Switzerland (although I think someone may have made them already)
Gaul
Hunnic
Gothic (if you offer to split them into Ostrogoth and Visigoth that'd be nice)
Norway (although I could probably just use Vikings units for the ancient/medieval ones)
Wales
Belgium
Brittany
Burgundy
Langobards
Croatia
Etruscan
Macedonian
Dacia
Frankish
Venetian Republic
Prussia
Geteai (sp?)

If you are alarmed because you don't see a country named this is because I already have units for that country. If you have questions about any of this PM me. If you think you really can do a unit set for any of these countries (creativity and "what-if" units are appreciated as well) that would be VERY helpful to me getting the mod out. I am personally making LHs for many civs, in fact I am working on Guilleme Henri Dufour for Switzerland as I write this. So there will be a plethora of new leaderheads, buttons, flags, UUs, UBs and everything coming out of this mod. The quicker I get units the quicker I'll be done. So if you want to help out (in any way you can) please let me know. Thank you.

And if you might think I have forgotten certain civs (I am American after all) please PM me and let me know what other nations you think I should add, and I'll tell you if I have already made arrangements for them to be in the game. Obviously existing civs will be in the game, and there will be civs such as the Teutonic Order, Knights Templar and Papal states as well.

I should be able to help out with some of the modern/industrial units you need for those civs. Let me know what tanks/planes you need and I'll see what I can pitch in. It feels good to be back. :)

@The Capo - Some modern units from 1939 would find home for sure in this european civilizations mod :)

Hey I was wondering if someone could do me a favor?

I am trying to make an African Rebel/Militia unit for a module I am working on. I have put together two folders in this rar file, the first is the African Rebel fodler and the second is called "Marine_Leopardo." Basically I haven't learned to make units yet, and I was wondering if someone would do me a favor and replace the head on the African Rebel model with the head on the "Marine_Leopardo" model.

Thanks in advance.

Awesome, so I'll just steal your stuff when you are finished! :p

Although there are going to be some random civs in there too I'm sure you won't do (like Brittany, or the Goths) for example.

BTW: So nobody wants to switch the heads for me?

Since Ekmek made a really good Curtin LH, I have decided to make an Australia module to go with it. I rekinned a rifleman as an Australian Rifleman (loosely) based on the picture below (I also attached what my rifleman looks like). I don't know how to make units, but I was wondering if someone could turn my Aussie Rifleman into a Cavalry, Cannon, and Grenadier. I will love you long time if you do this for me.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out with this.

Hello

I would like to request "flavor" great generals for the various ethnicities. There are a few good ones out there for download already, but nothing like a "great generals skin pack." This unit pack could be used as a foundation, and would likely appear in all of the unit diversity mods. And think about it, that
"warlord" skin we have right now is so ugly when used in combination with the other great unit skins others have developed.

I think someone with the skill and the desire for a project, could do a lot of good by creating an extensive great general pack. I think only around 18 skins would be necessary, and I also imagine that it would be sort of fun. I would think the best way would be to break the project down like this:

3 Mediterranean General Skins (Classical, Medieval, and Modern)
3 Mesopotamia General Skins (Classical, Medieval, and Modern)
3 Far East General Skins (Classical, Medieval, and Modern)
3 African General Skins (Classical, Medieval, and Modern)
3 Northern European Skins (Classical, Medieval, and Modern)
3 Native American Skins (Classical, Medieval, and Modern).

Yes this would be a very good thing.. But you are missing south_america/meso_america.

Should there be four skins really: Classical, Medieval, Industrial and Modern for most places...? Just a thought...

The standard game only uses 3 early, middle and late.. so I think thats why he whants 3...

I'd like to see Asian and Mesoamerican Executives and Great People.
