Unit requests thread

I know, me and my dragon units.
But this time I'd like to request something easier.

I'd need a dragon unit that has a skin, so that it looks as if it was not a creature but a machine (pic. below).

Could someone take the dragon unit from Fall from Heaven 2 and reskin it, please?:please:

I tried myself but the result was ... compleatly:aargh:! I'm gona try again but I'd be glad if a professionell could do it for me.

Have you seen this thread? http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171809&highlight=dragon

None of the existing skins look remotely metallic.
Not even the gold dragon.

I am currently experimenting with painting the whole thing gray and using gloss maps.

Here are some images of what I have gotten so far. (If there is any input now is the time to say it).
The shots are of 3 different versions. So take a look while I am playing with it, and tell me if any of it fits or if I need to work harder.

Well, in the blend file, you didn't specify Scene Root as the parent for the buddha mesh, so upon exporting you lost the skeleton.

Go to the little panel that lists the bones and stuff. Above that are the different modes for that panel. The one you want has three arrows diverging from a single point (the same symbol as the object mode symbol). Right there should be a "Par:" field. This lists the parent of the mesh. It must be Scene Root.

Well, you think you could fix that for me?

i already tried my hands (sorry mechaerik if you also started working on this). I think your base problem was that your base prophet mesh was the result of a sceneviewer bonetransplant which results in nifs that are a bit different from a vanilla nif (eg there arre two complete nif trees - also the skeleton had multiple bones with identical name]). Not tested ingame - therefore there could be [but not necessary are] some transparency problems with the glow

No, I never started working on it. I just havent really been in the mood to make art stuff. Although I did find a person who would be really cool to make a Lh out of, and AFAIK hasnt been made yet.

They all look good.;) But, as you say, not very mechanic.
I tryed to make it a bit more "machine looking" by, sort of, seperating the different limbs, so that it looks as if each one is a single part, who are combinet to one thing.
I had nod jet tested it jet thought. I'll post a screenshot when I've got it.

PS. I especially like the second befro last dragon. His scin's getting very close and if none of us can get it better I'll use his.

Hi peoples was wonder ing someone would be interested in making a 'fire pot shaman' basically native american style shaman with something akin to the grenadiers bombs. Don't know if any of the 'native' units already made could be modified. Anyone thats interested let me know. Cheers in advance!

I wonder if an Indian Grenadier would work? Not sure if there is such a thing, but sounds like that would fit the bill.

Here's a couple pics of the metallic dragon I'm working on. Just have to finish it up with some detail's.

What do you guys think of it so far?

Looks okay :).

Main problem with a "metallic" dragon is imho, that it would have to look like it had metal plates on the surface. Probably quite some work.

Looking for any kind of new animals.

Also always looking for new kinds of mounted units -- bizarre stuff like bears used with chariots or buffalo archers -- things like that!

Cheers!

Not sure if this stuff is in the database, but it's definitely in FfH2.

Yes that is what I'm working. It's looking good so far imho, and is getting to be a good representation of the the pic Glaeder posted on the other page.

The best option for the dragon would be to use my gloss map and add some metal plates onto the skin.
