Unusual architecture

They would make a very cool house and I guess they have ocean views too!

Fighting Napoleon they decided to make a chain of artillery forts around the coast. They were redundant and near obsolete before they were completed. Many are now houses - so many the unconverted are now protected.

My plan for the zombie apocalypse starts with my local Martello Tower.
If you're making a list for the ZA, add an extra 3-bar radiator. It might get a little cold in winter. :)

You should at least tell us what we are looking at and where it is.

Reminded me a bunker with a cannon in Gorliz, Biscay, Basque Country.

Franco was obsessed that after WWII allies will fight him, so he ordered a set of bunkers with cannons in the bay of biscay.
The invasion, never happened, so the cannons were disbanded or vandalized.

This Gorliz's cannon is a nice walk, there is a seafront near a beach, then cross up hill a forest to arrive to a lighthouse, which is very close to the bunker

A house to match his personality!

They are still finding their uses
To rephrase, they are used in the same way young Americans use their cars... with many stories about these bunkers.

Pretty ugly!

South Africa (I think), not sure which city.
I can see ideograms on a lot of the buildings, so I'd guess rather somewhere in China(?).
