USAF, USN Post-war

Do all these units come with .ini files, pedia icons, wav files e.t.c and everything else necessary to use them in-game. I ask because when I click on the links in the unit list I just get a .rar file. Am I missing something?

I'm going to make a fortune when I invent a machine that will allow a person to choke someone over the internet.

You're not the first one to ask me this question.
im having a bit of trouble converting the RAR file to a standard file that civ3 can read. any suggestions?

.RAR is an archive file extension. It is just as common as .ZIP files. It is a hugely popular archive format which makes me wonder why you have never heard of it.

Google WinRar for a free program.

It comes with pedia icons and ini files.
And you don't need vav files to use them in-game. If you need sounds, just edit the provided ini and add a reference to another existing units.
Here is a step by step way to do it:
- In windows explorer, search your civilization installation folder, go in art/units folder. Inside, you will see a "JetFighter" folder (for instance.).
Open this folder, double click on the ini file and open it with notepad.

Scroll down to the sound part.

You will see for instance:
Death = JetFighterDeath.wav

Copy the line.

Open the ini provided in Wyrmshadow rar file (once you have figured out how to open this strange packaged file).

scroll down to the sound part

You will see

Death =

Paste the previously copied file.

Now, you want to make a reference to the external wav (it's the sound of another animation you want to use

To do this, add the part in bold. This part should be the exact name of the folder where the sound is (so it may be "Jet fighter", or "JetFighter", I'm not sure).

Death = ..\JetFighter\JetFighterDeath.wav

Repeat for all the sounds you need.

You can do this line by line, or for advanced windows users, you can also select several lines at once for the copy and paste.

Oh, one last advice. Don't forget to start Windows. It doesn't work when the computer is switched off.

Well, I´m back after years now, because of this Threat !!!

In my opinion, one of the worthiest Threats in this forum. :trophy:
I will replace most of my planes in my mod with these ones from Wyrmshadow, thank you Wyrm. :goodjob:

And, like it was in my old tradition, I will award you with the highest medal I can assign, this is representative for your other Threats: "Red Air Force, post- war", "Nato Air Forces" and "Rest of the World´s Air Forces".

I hope nobody will blame me for award the highest Medal of the United States, I will not change it (insider ;) ) !!!

Second, thank you Ares for your colour modifications. :trophy2nd:

Hello Wyrmshadow. Could you release your aircrafts in a 3DS format please?

Which ones? The ones I spent hundreds of dollars to buy or years to search for online or hundreds of hours to convert or build?

Beauteeful planes! :worship:

@Orkel: I'm sure it wouldn't be ethical for Wyrmshadow to release his models since many of them are no doubt copyrighted property which he has purchased. You would have to invest your own time and money to get them independently. There are many websites with 3D models. You might try this one:

http://www.turbosquid.com/

They have a number of 3DS models, some of them even free I think. :)

That sounds like a "no" to me :(

Since I got the reply email before you edited, I will answer it in due diligence.
I say 'no' to everyone because so many ask, and so many I don't even know who they are. So mostly I just ignore them.

That sounds like a "no" to me :(
Well, these ones:
SR-71 Blackbird
B-50 Super Fortress, that I modified
B-2 Spirit
SB-10 Starwing- this I ripped from a Homeworld Macross Mod and then modified.
C-124 GlobemasterII- This I ripped from MS Flightsim then extensively modified with my own textures, so it's now in a format you can't use.

See?

ok...Those are very expensive xD
Well I am going to ask one last thing, I think you are going to say "no" to this, but its worth a try............
..
..
Could you upload them on a giant package on a torrent site? And no one know its you

You have no idea what you have just done .

Well I got warned by a moderator. I never ask such stupid question agan. Sry for offtopic. NOW BACK TO TOPIC!

The word you're looking for is not stupid, but illegal. Asking for illegal copies is a big no-no on this forum.

Spoiler :
Not only would I be breaking the agreement that I signed for my current subscription but I'd also be breaking the trust of another Civfanatic that generously paid for a subscription(as a gift) to that site I linked to.

Also, I have never used a torrent file. Ever.

Maybe when you're older you'll have a better understanding just how irresponsible you were when you asked that question. I'm assuming you're young because I've searched for your old posts and have seen your unit requests.
