Version 2.7 bug reports and feedback

I don't know if this is fixable, but I find it odd that if you are working toward the religion your Civ wants (Christian) for example, you end up founding buckets of other ones.

When playing with Revolutions, I'd rather not have to found a new religion to compete with the others I'm already collected just to build monasteries!

Perhaps there could be a pop-up that asks, "Do you want to found this religion?" and if you say "No" then the next Civ to get to that tech will. I mean I have to play on a small map due to my computer's age and so far I've founded almost all the religions and so have Holy Cities in almost all of my cities! =0 I mean perhaps there needs to be a more 'regional' path for religions.

But then again, I wish religion was almost more of a % chance thing that would happen 'randomly' to a Civ/player due to a combination of the Civ, the current civics it has and the techs it owns. That way you could never know who is going to get a religion...it would just happen and be different every game.

While some people may like the current system, I find it odd that Victoria has managed to found most of the world's religions simply because I'm trying to get to Christianity.

I believe you want to turn on "Limited Religions." It is an option in-game. Just access the BUG mod settings (Control-Shift-O) in game and select "Limited Religions." It prevents a civ from founding more than one religion.

Well, that is certainly an option but if he wants Christian, turning ON 'Limited Religions' would actually prevent him from ever getting that religion. He would found some other religion while he works up the research tree, and would not be able to found any other since option prevents founding more then one religion.

He actually needs to select 'Chose religions' option which is set while creating custom game and allows him to chose which religion he will be founding. Of course, he needs to start a new game for that.

It is, but that's not the real point. I'm tired of every mod I play having it's creator being asked to put in Revolutions. Like I said, it's buggy, broken, unrealistic, and full of micromanagement hell that makes Hell look like a fun vacation spot.

Strange, I have few problems with it, except it can cause too many OOS problems in multiplayer. We play on Monarch and I just don't have revolutions any more and I sure don't micromanage! Mostly I had to learn what to build and how to use civics to satisfy the revolution mod and it helped my overall game play balance when I'm NOT playing with revolutions on. I used to want to expand far too quickly and ruin my economy. Now I am more balanced in my play. My first three games were rough, then its just not a problem for me.

Mostly it tends to destabilize the AI a bit too much, they aren't as challenging. We turned down the index for them and will do so some more if we continue to play with revolutions on.

Zappara, could you replace the Charles V's and Cardinal Richelieu's leaderheads with this one and this one? I think they look much better.;) Might you also use the new Alexander head?

Hey guys! I am a long time Rise of Mankind fan, its the only mod I play these days. So just today I downloaded the v2.7 and every time I try to run it, the game crashes with a "CIV-4 has stopped working" error. And I dont know whats wrong here :(

I had v2.61 and I deleted it after I downloaded the v2.7 and I removed the 2.6 before I drug the 2.7 into the mod folder. So I was wondering if anyone could help me out here?

P.S. I am using vista, and I have the latest patch for the game out, and got the gold pack for Civ 4 and world lords, and the BTS exspansion too of corse. I als jusy updated my graphics card, and it was running v2.6 fine all last night and today.

~Please help!

Bah I surrender most of the points. I just wish people here would understand that the reasons I have iossues with it, is that mostly it's micromanagement hell that does not ever belong in the Civilization series.

Thank you. We return you to this thread, already in progress.

PM me if you really want to continue this. I will get you to understand...

I find your blind faith in everything but me disturbing, Afforres. Very Disturbing
And what language have I used that's inappropriate for this forum, besides Damn? Not my fault it's a bad word. Although saying to hell might be bad too. It's a real city in Michigan you know.

n.
Sorry, but this computer is too old to play the megapak, however standard RoM should work fine.
WHAT? Are you blind? I say my older comupter could run the darn thing.
On my newer computer, I can run the Last Reminant, Crysis, you name it, I can play it as long as it doesn't require Vista
My computer which is so powerful it can run every game that came out more than 1 month ago that doesn't require Vista only, like at high settings is too old for this game and the megapack? You sir, are beyond hope.

I'm sorry, but you sir, also FAIL. I award you Zero Points, and may the IRS audit you! :)

Seriously, my computer which was 900 Dollars, is to old? That's just wrong on over 9000! levels.

so can you help me? ^

please see the attached screen shot.
the city is producing 11 gold from tiles and supposedly 1 gold from trade route, total of 12.
however only 7.7 are converted into research and 3.3 into gold.

patched 3.19, playing as Carthagian new male leader (forgot his name)
win vista 32bit 3GB ram GeForce7600 256MB video memory

Check to see if you don't have a 2nd Rise of Mankind inside of the Rise of Mankind folder.

And make sure you havn't renamed Rise of Mankind to Rise of Mankind 2.7.

Also since you said you use Vista that you installed it under Admin.

If none of this works. Well we'll need some more info.

Hope you get it figured out.

JosEPh :)

Ok, new build, fresh install.....new problems:

I can play RoM 2.71 as a solo game with no problems. And I can play the 'stock' mods in both single- and multi-player. However, RoM will not run for me in LAN or in Direct IP games. Not sure what else to put here, so I'll attach my bug report.

Thanks for whatever help you can give.

Well I just dragged and dropped the files (folder titled rise of mankind) out of the RAR extract tool into the Mods folder. It was all there and there's only one Rise of mankind folder there. The first time I intstalled it I had the wrong patch, I now have the right patch, but i am getting the same error..... When I try and run it, it just shuts down... i could take a screen shot of it I guess?

There seems to be a rare CTD still existing with BarbarianCivs. here is the stuff from PythonErr.log

Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "CvEventInterface", line 30, in onEvent

File "BugEventManager", line 298, in handleEvent

File "BugEventManager", line 303, in _dispatchEvent

File "BarbarianCiv", line 1025, in checkBarbCities

File "BarbarianCiv", line 1097, in createMinorCiv

I have zipped the rest of the logs so I can post them or a subset of them if you think it may be useful.

Check if you are currently using the Barter civic option. Under a barter system, you receive a reduced amount of actual commerce from your trade routes, but they also provide a small amount of food and production. I think the exact multiples are 33% of normal to food, 33% of normal to production, and 50% of normal to trade. So what you wind up having is only about 0.625 units of commerce coming in, enough to register as 1 point from domestic trade, but not enough to actually push your actual commerce to 12, as the actual commerce seems to round all decimal units *down*.

thanks Nightguard

as a matter of fact yes I am using barter civic so that could be the problem.
I hope the interface will be kind enough to say -50% below +25% connection to capital. There's plenty of space to say so!

ADDED:
no, that doesn't seem to be the problem. I built jewelly which adds +25%. Together with connection to capital +25% they should offset -50% penalty from barter, but still I don't get any trade commerce

I'm not sure if it is fault of having modmods confusing it but it seems that in 2.71, NoBuildingsGraphics crashes my saved game to desktop. It never happened before with 2.7 and 2.63. It might have to do with new MLF procedure in 2.71.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you

2.71 runs fine for me. I tried the extracivs addon and am now crashing while loading the mod. "intialize renderer failed" Seems to be some sort of graphics problem.

Advice?
