Version 2.7 bug reports and feedback

If my poor Triremes accidentally happen onto an ocean tile even in my own borders(!), they invariably hit Davy Jones Locker and this somehow causes a storm of three millenia duration. Going into world builder to try to fix a CTD, I notice that Ashurbanipal has somehow colonized a continent 10 ocean tiles from his own using only War Galleys and Galleys. Gilgamesh too has a city on that continent and managed to circumnavigate the earth around 2000 BC. Now I've just gotten a visit from a BtS deathstack conveyed by a convoy of 20 Assyrian Galleys who braved a 12 tile voyage on the high seas.
I think Triremes and Galleys should not be able to travel on oceans.

I sent a Trireme on a "explore" mission and ended up exploring most of the world.
I have had this happen to.:crazyeye:

Hey

What is the problem with my problem? No seem to be able to fix it. I know a lot of people experience the ctd's sometime during the medieval times. Pliz someone, fix it. Zappara should have all he asks for in bug fixing in the attached files.

If you moved some techs around and they have prerequisites then the tech path could be corrupted. Make sure your xml changes see this.

Maybe if you could get afforess or some of the other ModMod Modders to look at your files they could see what is going on. My skills are too limited. Maybe PM one of them?

I haven't changed anything tech related. All that is changed is how many steps roads help for, certain leader traits and world wonder cap.

It is futile for us to say anything about a ctd without the exact changes. You could do that yourself too. Remove all modifications and see if you get a CTD. Then apply the changes one at a time and see when the CTD occurs.

I could, but I would have to play up to that point again, since you can't load a game with a different xml setup. And here are the things I have changed:

- Changed traits of Bismarck: Now charismatic and scientific
- Changed route infos: Longer travelling across railroads. (I have never gotten as far as railroad techs, and I did this to on the previous RoM versions with no problem whatsoever)
- Changed Max wonders to -1, that is infinity.

I think that should be all. I usually add Blitz to paratroopers as well, but since I haven't gotten that far, I haven't bothered yet.

Then again, as loads of others experience the exact same problems as me, I reallt doubt there is anything wrong done in my xml, done by me at least.

Did you complete The Pyramids ? Since 2.7 (I believe) Pyramids give Irrigation Canals in each city instead of Granary.

Sorry if any of these already mentioned:

-- Getting a recurring event, the one where bandits are making off with your food stores. No matter which option I choose, I get the same event the next turn (been going for at least ten turns now!) One of the options, the "ignore" option, mentions that the food pillaging may happen again; my guess is that this code is where the loop is.

-- I'm not sure why more people aren't screaming about the looping AI bug. ALL my games eventually lock up, usually right before the modern era appears. Without fail.

The last version of RevDCM broke 8 events, and Zappara never removed them. This is one of them. Another is the herbalist event and the slave revolt event. (I forget the 5 others...) The events were broken because the merged in World of Civilization, and it there doesn't seem to be any way of fixing those events short of removing them.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=8072318&postcount=903They are, trust me. But there isn't much you can do; except play on a map with little to no water. The bug has to do with the AI and naval units, so if there is no water, you'll never get the bug...

:lol:

I like your inventive use of links. Very funny!

I play giant maps with lots of water and I don't get the "bug". But then again I don't play with Rev enabled either. Nor SaM or BarbCiv and no vassals.

But I Do have a 64bit OS, Dual Core Intel chipset and 8gigs of DDR2 1066 ram, plus a vid card with 512MB of DDR3 ram. And I just don't get these CTDs that 32 bit OS's do. I'm sooo glad I built this new comp.

@JosEPh_II How many civs do you play with? I set the Rev max to 18 and don't play with more civs. I have never had the "bug".

I'm sorry maybe there is an answer for my question somewhere inside the forum but I just don't have time to reed these all – lazy ;) but when I load your mod I still have normal BTS game. No new technology, religious, government. I have version 2.71 mod and 3.19 BTS. What's happening?? Mod is loading smoothly...

@Moneo Did you put the mod here? C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods
Or did you put it in the My Documents\My Games folder?

I put the mod in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods

@Moneo,

what is the opening screen? does it say Rise of Mankind or normal BTS one?
if it's normal BTS one you just didn't load the mod correctly, only you thought it loaded smoothly.

The opening screen doesn't it say Rise of Mankind it's normal BTS one.
What should i do?? help ….

Speaking of questions I can't seem to find answers for...what do you do in regard to mods when you get your Civ through Steam? I mean where do you put your mods? Do you have to manually create the link as if the game was installed on your computer or is there is a procedure through Steam to make it recognize mods?

Or am I just out of luck? (Actually I know I'm not out of luck because I remember when 3.19 came out, many folks on Steam couldn't play their mods anymore because they weren't 3.19 compatible and Steam updated them to it before they could stop it)

I've installed civ IV all from beginning, then unpack the mod and put it folder into mods folder by creating it. Like in the instructions. Maybe I should do it again by just uninstall BTS, install it again, then the patch and then the mod???
