Version 2.7 bug reports and feedback

I just cant seem to ever finish a game, getting the "Waiting for other civilizations"-bug in this game. Happens just as one presses End Turn on this savegame. I'm quite lousy at figuring out why stuff doesnt work, so if anyone could give a hand, it would be much appreciated as I was just starting to like this game.

It's known bug with Revolution/Barbarian civ components - I'll try to fix this issue in this week's v2.71 patch. The patch should be ready for the weekend if all goes well. However old saved games probably won't work after this patch, as there's too big xml changes.

v2.71 Megapack should be also ready for the weekend, but I don't know if I can upload both the normal v2.71 mod and v2.71 megapack the same day as both will take couple hours to upload and test that the new download links work correctly.
 
I am having an odd bug that I'm not sure is totally related to RoM. I have two machines and my laptop runs XP and the machine I'm on now has Vista. On my Vista machine, everything runs fine (surprisingly) but recently after patching to the new version of the Orbis Mod I'd get this odd graphic problem. To fix it, I'd have to reboot. I could play the Planetfall mod or the Legends of Revolution but RoM would give me the same sort of graphic problems. Plus, once I activated either Orbis (or FfH for that matter) or RoM, then if I unloaded the mod and went to one I knew worked, they had the same graphic problem.

I unloaded my DirectX driver (per a bug thread comment) and reloaded to the current but so far no joy. Not sure what is in RoM or FfH that would cause it to graphcially crash but not LoR or Planetfall. :confused:

Any suggestions?
 
installed civ4 3.19 and ROM 2.7 this weekend and at one point all the graphics for units vanished from the display of whats in cities.

when you would select a city and normally see the list of units, at one point all that went away.

saved..exited the game and restarted civ4, loaded saved game.. good to go.

so just an FYI
 
Good chance you accidently hit one of the unit filters (Health/upgradable/domain etc).

Aside from the screwed up icons for cities, in maps made with PerfectWorld script, I've yet to see a single storm crop up anywhere along coastlines. (Huge mapsize). Are the storms just so far out that I never see them til I can get into the ocean, or does PerfectWorld not create any?

being my 2nd whole game ever with this MOD im still very much lost with the info overload.

Bingo, you got it :). You are correct, Perfectworld mapscript don't produce storms, and marshes for that matter too.
 
In an attempt to salvage the game I posted earlier, I used the worldbuilder to narrow down the problem to one civ, and now ive been searching fruitlessly for a way to play that civ for one turn only. I know it has been posted somewhere here, but cant find it... :(

Hi everbody,

the game crashes when I wanna load the mod. You know...this typical error-screen. On german it´s "Hat ein Problem festgestellt und muss beendet" (has determined a problem and must be closed?) .

How can I fix the problem? I really wanna play this mod. Sounds good. :goodjob:

Are you patched to the Official Firaxis 3.19 patch? To play 2.7 you must have this Official patch installed.

Launch Civilization without the mod and switch language to English. That should solve the issue ;)

By the way I would like to underline something I consider as an issue (if somebody else didn't notice it): Civics look like good ideas but not correctly balanced.
There are for example few differences between Proletariat and Feodalism, and those both civics generate much more money than Bourgeois (which is supposed to be THE money civic).
Monarchy lost the happy face / military unit, but military units still have an higher unkeep than other governments, this makes this government completly useless (I personaly keep Chiefdom, it's not as hurting for my treasury).
Republic is fine, but the angry face / military unit is a burden that simply prevents you from defending any city against a big army (and that's a bit silly because I don't think peoples would want soldiers to leave right when they need them to stay alive ...). I think another penality should be found for this government instead.

There are also some civics with very low interest and effects not really related to the name (Marxism ?)
 
Evening Zap I thought it was a guilds tech problem and it always happens if I research guilds. If I trade it in the game seems to run past this point for a few more turns until CTD.

Now since I have dowloaded this mod I have only once been able to get past this point which was ironically before my first CTD.

I have tried my going in different tech order but the CTD still happens I have attached a autosave just before it last happened and the log files.

I have noticed that other people have this crash too.

My machine is only 1 year old gaming rig built for Crysis so I am sure its not that unless its a Vista thing :rolleyes:

edit1 I just got past the guilds without christianity and without King Richards Crusade.

My mate and I just luuuv the mod. Though it is a bit unstable. We've been playing it, multi, 2.62, seriously for a couple of weeks now but encounter the OOS trouble a bit too often. As we set the map size down to Huge it got better. Revolutions was a disaster to make it work, but barbarians seem to work ok. Lately, we've encountered the end of turn problem a bit too often. In fact the last time it happened, 10 min ago, we got furious.

...we were doing so well....

So like Sporhund pleaded, please fix this in a 2.71 patch. We are currently trying to install BTW 3.19 and ROM 2.7. Last time we tried 2.7 we couldn't find eachother in the LAN lobby, so we reverted back to 3.17/2.62. We've decided to give it another shot now, in advance of the 2.71 fix.

So please Zappara, my mate and I are both on holidays next week. We would be so greatful if we could spend our Nordic summernights in front of the laptops. Use your magic and make the AI end his turn (or post instructions on how to fix the problem when it happens).
