Video Memory Crash (v1.52)

Sorry for the basic question but how do I clear the Civ cache? I would at least like to try that.

Very frustrating problem -

Sorry for the posting the same msg twice below. Tried solution posted by DGoose but no change except that the cursor does blink chaotically as he said. thx for the suggestion though - any other ideas?

Hi all, wanted to share my experience here as a possible solution for those that have the graphics error, though it might als solve some other issues.

Some basic troubleshooting
1. Disconnect any modem froim the computer if youhave broadband internet.
2. Click on Start
3. click run
4. Type in ms config
5. A Sytem configuration utility will pop up click on the startup tab.
6. Click the disable all button and click apply
7. you will be asked to restart your computer click yes.

When you get back to desktp the system configuration utility will pop up
ignore it for now.

1. Click Start then Run
2. Type %temp%
3. A box wil come up with files and folders in it press ctrl+A or Edit then
Select all
4. Press Deleted
5. Once they are deleted run the game

I did this, then added back programms through the Ms Config utility, leaving out those I did not really recogize. Now, all but one run again and I can play civ4 at last for more than 20 minutes on the best resolution possible.
Good luck to all of you and again, thanks for all the good hints and tips that helped me come this far!:goodjob:
