Does the replicator work? It would be nice too if a religion spread to us would help with happiness. Do we have Priesthood? That's negative I think.

Out of pocket period from June 24th to July 1st although I do have net access to participate but computer isn't powerful enough to play civ. Will double check it just in case but I think video card is limited (32mb) which is below system requirements.

I think I might have lost a turn in mine. The year seemed off with the turn number so I might have put an extra turn that I didn't have.

Good job GreyFox, looks like we are doing alright so far. BTW do we have any iron or is that iron near the Mongolian capital the nearest one?

I noticed that too eektor. I am going to check out the other computer tomorrow to see if it can play civ then I will be ok. I was also thinking of taking my CPU along but still undecided. This came up last minute. So I might be able to stay playing. (Just not crazy about moving my CPU around)

Good job Greyfox, the lucky one (wow 16% and I loose at 87% sometimes, RNgod can be very unpredictable)

I say we take Karakorum too and get that ivory for happiness.. and of course War elephants to counter JC's Praets that's if he has iron. Good luck NamliaM we seem to be holding at 10% but with extra happiness we will be able to get some revenue generating cottages worked.

EDIT: Had a look at the save and eektor we do have iron near Paris. Here are some suggestions if that's ok NamliaM. CC is working plain 1f1h however if we work sea tile instead get 1f2c for +2gpt. Also Paris citizen work Iron in grass 2f4h instead of 4h which keeps the city stagnate instead of starving. With extra 2 gpt we could increase science to 20%. We have 40 gold so we could increase to 30% with -2gpt loss but we get a cottage in Old Sarai soon so we possibly could stay at that and taking Karakorum will add some wealth/happiness. Good luck.....

Would be nice too if we could trade wine with Cyrus although need trade route. (sailing??) With elephants/wine would have +2 happiness. wooohoooo
 
Haven't had a chance to look at the save yet, but it looks like things are going well. Karakorum had a settler in it's stack - if it sends out two archers with it, the city might be siegeable.

Cyrus wouldn't give us jumbos for wine since they're a strategic resource as well. :(

The stack is less and I think 1 or 2 archers and settler took off somewhere.

Armstrong what I mean was trading corn for wine with Cyrus until we have our own wine but wouldn't we need sailing for that. (if we take Karakorum which seems to be the plan since we are building more axes and have 4 at Karakorum we will get ivory there.)

I dont think its smart to pillage that 3g Cottage? right now. It is not workable for any city I think and it will be for our Old Saria once we remove KK completely... Nice to inherit the improved Cottage right?

All stuff workable by his capitol or any other city will be removed... Now at 10% science and +1g.. Kewl...

On second thought I am not gonna pillage NADA I dont think... I might just go with Armstrong and try and take Karakorum.... We also need Alphabet to be able to take something in peace from KK... A math <> Alphabet trade would be nice...

IIRC Old Saria has some gold due NE of it. Getting an Obelisk up and grabbing it would be a priority...

Looking at the save, I noticed we liberated Stonehenge in Beshbalik! :goodjob: Let's whip a library in that city asap and make it our GP farm. With 3 foods + coast it will be great :)

We need to start trading techs. JC has a ridiculous tech lead on us right now. I think we should switch our research to Alphabet. If we run 2 scientists in Besh, we can probably burn the resulting GP/GS for a tech we can trade. That would go a long way to putting us back in the groove.

Our military advisor says we have 11 axers. Let's rush them all (except for the token defenders in Besh & Old Sarai) to Karakorum and grab it, then settle for peace. :) We can then cottage spam Karakorum.

I actually think the math works out that it's okay to pillage cottages if you won't have a library/market in the city before you'd grow the cottage to the same "age" as it was before.

I checked we have fishing as a workboat is available in CC.

Also (mentioned this before) we could tweak some cities and get gpt up. (refer to post #84)

Our problem is happiness......(get ivory mentioned this before too)

I agree with Armstrong get alphabet......but will be real slow research and maybe after taking Karakorum hire a scientist somewhere.

My OOP might not be necessary but I am not sure yet will advise.

So NamliaM do as you wish it's your turn......

(With tweaking can get science up to 30% and cottage being built in Old Sarai and Paris has a cottage turning into a hamlet in 1 turn. -2gpt We have many unhappy citizens 1 in CH 2 in Old Sarai 3 in Beshbalik, need to address that so Ivory would help. Monarchy would be a great help)
 
Good eyes on stonehedge, armstrong, didn't noticed that. But IIRC, captured stonehedge won't give us the free obelisk, i might be wrong though.

Hamlets can be pillages, it takes only 8 turns to grow back, and the gold pillaged plus the hurt on enemy's economy is well worth it. Its only when the cottage is a village or town then pillaging becomes not advisable if you plan to capture the city.

Plus we need money like right now, not 20 turns later when we finally capture Karokorum and its out of revolt and grows to work the hamlets.

In any case, the hamlet is NOT in the BFC of Karakorum :crazyeye:

I have already learnt us Fishing, I thought I did build a workboat but looking at the autolog I did not.

Sorry I failed to mention that we had Iron. It should be connected the next turn.

I suggest we take our time to capture Karokorum while pillaging most of Mongolian's facilities, and sign peace whenever the fatso had something to offer. Don't take more cities then that, cause JC is just north, we don't want close border tension with him. If done right and Lady Luck continues to smile benevolently at us, JC will sense the weakness of KK and declare. We can then declare as well to improve relations.

Research-wise, the reason for mathematics is to improve our health and also pave the way to the boulder-hurling felines. On retrospect, should have nabbed us the Sailing Tech first for lighthouses.

I am not too worry about +1gpt@10%. The war will fund our research.

Sailing (Lighthouses) is real important as well, as it will allow us to work some 2food/2coin tiles :) In particular if we can grab Colossus making the 50% stronger...

I will cancel math for now I think and pick up Either Alpha or Sailing...

I think any wonder that is capture (and is not a 1 off like the Oracle or The Taj) will get its benifits to the new owner. IIRC our new nice 5th city is well over our happy limit, I will whip something there...

Turn 0, we dont have a work boat, so I order one up in CC. It is currently on its way to "the promissed land"?

I start research on sailing so we can work the water profitably... I took the axe near the new barb city and went training, or so I thought. At 65+% the Axe takes a dive :mad: ... promoting the archer :( Who bribed the axe to take that dive? And where did the money go?

A felign animal jumps out of Karakorum and does some damage to our 2 axemen there. A third joins them... No where near what we need to take it... They go a pillaging...

Here is proof that
1) KKs settler went somewhere, It by now has grown to size 2 maybe we want to take it? Maybe not...
2) the Hedge is still working :)


We lose one very brave Axe :cry: I would have loved to promote him, but KK hit him with 2 chariots and an Axe trailer. The 2 chariots were just not good enough. He had to throw in the Axe...


Turfan has been picked clean and our axe' move along... after killing a KESHEK! Offcourse we spot more Pillage :)


We have to start watching our backside a little as Old Saria only has 1 tile between that road and Old Saria....


I build us some Swords too :) they are on their way to the Barb city for some training ... and as a last fact I founded Okinawa, the fishing village due west of Paris and Lined up another workboat in Paris to work the Fish ones the borders pop.

And good ol' JC has Alphabet :cry: We are a little bit behind and WAY low on happy resources.... Maybe we can trade the pig or some health for the happy?

And we are waaaaaaaaaaaay (no cannot overstate that) so that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to low on Happy resources...
We really want/need Turfan before peace. This will bring us 2!! Happy resources, maening we can grow all cites 2 pop more (atleast that is)

Edit: Make darned sure to not pillage that Spice? Plantation... We cannot build it but we can use it :)
This offcourse means we are not only missing Math but also .... that other tech that enables Plantations... Darn...
