No. The thing is a crazy murderer went out and killed 32 people. This wasn't about the gun laws it was about one man.

Thats just SO american, what happening in VT was, as abaddon says a drip in the water. The worst thing whith america is that if one state, let's say California make a stronger weapon law, then the guys who need weapons can order/ go to Nevada and collect weapons there. Who knows, if the weapon laws don't get better in every state, then it will appear another madman whith guns and shooting alot of more... Then it's a big tragedy if something like that happends... Thats a :thumbdown to america.

Yes I know its just SO American (notice you capitalize the "A") to blame the one who actualy kills people. *Gasp* Personal responceabily. It comes with freedom. Do you think we sould put strict restrictions on knives and tire irons too? Thinking that penalizing every one for the actions of a few is SO European.

I agree. Whilst I still prefer to live with European Gun Laws it's true that over here if it can't be taxed, it'll be banned. Banning things is much easier than dealing with the problems that freedom creates.

psst... if you're dishing out grammar advice, make sure your spelling's correct ;)

Why would anyone change their avatars because some people got killed in America, and not change it for the tens of thousands killed in Darfur?

Because these people were in my hometown I care for them. Whereas those in Darfur are not, and I hoestly don't care so much about them.

Dafur is different. That conflict does not involve the massacre of inocent American Civilian lives.

I care and give compassion for the people in Virginia because they are part of the wide college/university community. Whereas in Darfur are neather Americans nor are they part of the American College/University community. To be frank, I dont care about thoes whom are in Darfur.

What changed your attitude all of a sudden? After 9/11 the world was sympathetic and compassionate to the United States. Now they dont even care what happens to our own people.

Sorry, this is an enormous threadjack, but could you please explain why the world should be sympathetic to Americans who are not sympathetic to the world? :)

i think the reason that a lot of people are talking about VTech is that when you go to school, you expect to be safe...in Darfur or Iraq, it's troubled and people are less shocked by those deaths

To be honest, I would assume those who died in Darfur mean nothing to you, too?

But I compliment your honesty that today is no different from last week for you.
