Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.5

Hey! I would really want to know where to find some Warhammer Maps!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately there are not many maps available for WH, especially the 2.51 expansion. Here is a link to the WH World map.
I have been working on a Lustria map for a Warhammer: Conquest of the New World scenario. The map is basically done just some tweaking left to do. I will probably post the map separate from the scenario also.

It does surprise me that there are not more maps and scenarios for such a popular mod.
 
I know this will be like a nonsense for you (talking to the mod creators)... I downloaded your mod and is really superb, from the units to the core game, i have played it over and over... then I had a vision :crazyeye:... your units are amazing, their animations better, they have even sounds.... so, have you ever think about bringin the sprites and sounds you used for units into a wargame, i don't know, like modding starcraft, age of empires 2, or some 2D unit RTS?. I know, your mod is beatiful just like it is, I'm still using it, but I tried Mark of Chaos and I find it boring, without mentionig the fact that it ran kind of slow in my grafics card, i have dawn of war and I have been waiting for a RTS game or a mod based on warhammer fantasy with colourful units and, hopefully, simple but shiny graphics like yours... Just Imagine it, on age of empires 2, an Orc army with da black boys infront and orc archers behind, all in formation, marching to the Sigmar city... wow... well, I love your mod, I was just expressing a gamer dream of mine (but if you can, or do something for it... do it please... take in count that games like AOE2 have even the medieval buildings ready... just put units, and you have the icons already)... thanks
 
Thanks for the kind words. Personally I hate RTS, so the chances of me doing something like that is less than the chance for avian pigs. Actually I'd prefer the pigs. :)
 
Hi there, relatively new Civ player and very new forum member here, just want to say that this mod looks outstanding, however like the people before me i'm having problems with installing it! Here is what i have done so far...

Downloaded the WH2.5.rar
Downloaded the wh-2.patch.zip

Extracted WH2.5.rar into my CivilizationIII\Conquests\Scenarios folder (so it now has a folder with the link Conquests\Scenarios\WH2

Extracted the wh-2.patch.zip into that above folder and replaced files as necessary.

Run the Civ3Conquests.exe

Click - Civ-Content

There is an option for the WH2.5.biq which says something along the lines of "standard map/rules with Warhammer mod" [not exact]. I click to use...it loads to 40% and says

"missing entry in "text\pedialocons.txt:ICON_BLDG_Herdstone"

I have read your instructions for the previous poster to this problem, but i cant see what I'm doing wrong! This is the first mod I've installed on any game, so is there something basic I'm missing or not doing, or is the problem as secret and evil as one of Tzeentch's plans?

What i'm meaning is, mrtn said to extract to desktop and copy it all into my \Scenarios folder and not to make a WH2 folder. But when i extract, it is making a WH2 folder anyways! Did he mean...don't make a duplicate \Scenarios\WH2\WH2 folder? or just open my recently extracted WH2 folder and copy the contents directly into \Scenarios

Am i making sense, or should I just leave :P

Yes, you got that right in the end (bolded the right thing above too). The mod has its own WH2 folder which, together with the BIQ file, has to be in the Conquests\Scenarios folder and not in any subfolders.

The problem is with the right-click menus for extracting files that have an option "Extract to .\foldername" that many people use by default. If you do that, you get a new subfolder, like you said, a duplicate WH2\WH2 or WH2.5\WH2 etc. and Civ3 can't find the mod files. If you do it the way mrtn described, it should all be in the right place. Just remember not to use "Extract to .\WH2.5" option. Instead, open the zip and drag the files to Conquest\Scenarios, or use the "Extract Here" right-click option, then move the files etc.

To check if it's right - you should get one and only "WH2" folder, and there should be "Art" and "Text" folders inside.

Neither. It should be Conquests\Scenarios\WH2\Text\randomfilename.txt and that's what you get without manually moving any files. Again, apart from moving the whole mod to Conquests\Scenarios, no single files or folders should ever be moved anywhere - it only causes problems as such "missing files".

The zip files have two things visible when you open them: WH2 folder and a WH2.5 BIQ file. Grab these and put into Conquests\Scenarios. There is nothing else you should be doing.
 
Righto...

I'm pretty sure thats what I did the second time and still got the herdstone error. But i'll have a look when i get home in 30mins!

The more i get that herdstone error, the more determined i am to beating it!!
 
The biq file should not be inside the WH folder, but in the scenarios folder. (You already have one there too actually)
 
Ok...so i should delete the bic file in the WH2 folder!?

In fairness though, this hasn't been as complicated as i thought it would be! It just looks like such a great mod, i cant wait to play it! And seeing I updated to 1.22 to use it, thus making the game I was almost playing (my first Regent game that I was going to win) unuseable!

Well it doesn't really matter, I don't now how it got there in the first place.

When you play you choose the biq file in the scenarios folder, you don't go into any other folders.
 
Ah yeh your right! When i try to play i just go to my Civ-Content and the WH2.bic file option is there in the main section with all the other scenarios / maps.

So i don't look for it, its just there! Does that mean that my game is getting confused because theres two? And i think it got there from the update!
