Watersportsgate

"An eye for an eye" morality is rather antiquated isn't it? But in any case, does Trump have a record of publically mocking people's sexuality?

Yeah, it's not the fetish itself. It's the petty Obama bed angle that makes it mockable.

Can you imagine what he's going to do to the White House ?

this is more a hair for an eye. Trump is far worse. And the point isn't really to disparage those who enjoy watersports it's because we think Trump is embarrassed by it.

You can "confirm" that it is fake? How?

Well, insofar at least as several reporters for Buzzfeed have responded to this to say it is not something that originated at *****.

As to that making the actual claims any more true, well. That's for everyone else to decide I guess.

Would you be okay with people targeting you publicly with the things you'd be embarrassed of? If no, why are you okay with people targeting someone else with the things they'd be embarrassed of?

I'm sorry, but Buzzfeed is about as reliable as one of my grandmother's moles.

Because it's Donald Trump, a man who habitually and unapologetically acts with complete disrespect and who is about to take a position that demands great respect. He deserves this punishment.

I'm still failing to see where one person being disrespectful justifies others being disrespectful. Is this one of those "He did it so I can do it!" counterarguments kids use when they get caught doing something?

I support trying to reestablish respect after being disrespected but there comes a point where you've taken enough crap and you stop playing nice. Otherwise you're a pushover. We've reached that point with Trump.

Respect is mutual, otherwise it's not respect.

Yeahhhh Buzzfeed is "journalism". You call them a new site? It's nonsense clickbait at best

Come on...

Um, they hired a former Pullitzer winner in 2013, and many of their political reporters have graduated to CNN/NBC/etc. They have a bonafide news section of their site. It is separate from the listicle crap they do.

I'm sorry, but they are garbage, and you should feel bad for thinking that they are journalists

So the National Press Foundation should too for giving them an award in 2014? Or the Data Journalism award for 2016? Sorry dude, but you gotta realize they've had a legitimate journalist segment for years now. They have bonafide journalists and tons of awards and award winners. Times have changed.

Uhm this was all made up by a bunch of guys on ***** or something like that.

Ok so it was /pol/acks, whatever that is

Totally bogus. This document has been circulating in the media for months. It only went unpublished because nobody was able to verify it. Buzzfeed decided to go ahead and publish it because the intelligence brief prepared for Obama and Trump and given to them last week included a summary of the information contained in it. The original source is oppo research that was done against Trump during the primaries.

That doesn't mean any of it is true, necessarily, but it certainly wasn't written by some guys on *****. And you know what? If Trump wasn't so insistent on carrying Putin's jock and denigrating our intelligence agencies and lying about ties with Russia when he's on video from 2013 saying he has a relationship with Putin, then this wouldn't be newsworthy. Trump has left himself open to this kind of thing by acting suspicious and lacking any transparency. You know how he could clear this up? By releasing his tax returns and other detailed financial documentation to prove he has no investment in Russia (despite him already being on video saying he does). The only reason this is even a story is because of the way Trump behaves.

Sure, maybe they're trying to change, but they haven't convinced me yet. All the nonsense they used to pull in the past is why I completely ignore them now. They'll have to win more than just a couple stupid awards to make me stop laughing whenever somebody refers to them as a "genuine news site" and uses their name in the same sentence as the word "journalism"

Actually a pretty solid point, Metalhead. Take advantage of his opacity and post-factualism to just smear the living **** out of him. Beat him at his own game lol

TIL the proper way to combat Trump's harmful policies is to mock his sexual preferences. To not mock someone is to be weak, a pushover. My world is being rocked to its very core here.

Respect is mutual, otherwise it's not respect.

Most civilized people, in my fantasy world anyways, would agree that a basic sense of decorum towards a fellow human is reasonable to have. One of the aspects of this basic decorum would entail "not mocking them for a sexual preference". If you are dedicated enough, you can always find a reason for why someone deserves to have something negative done to them. I am certain the people who torture others in school have a long list of reasons why their victims deserve it.

GOPeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I don't really know why anyone cares or thinks it's appropriate to publicly mock someone for their sexual preferences. What's more is that there would be violent uproar if Trump were, say, homosexual instead of a fan of watersports. The left (general left) would be up in arms if people publicly mocked someone for being gay, but publicly mocking Trump's preferences is okay because...? He's not a good person? How is that license to be awful yourself?

I don't see this as a "sexual preference" but more as a childish temper tantrum, but hey, it's Trump. There's also allegations of Trump frolicking with Russian prostitutes, but should anyone but Mrs. Trump care? It's like getting a blow job from Monica Lewinsky, no big deal.

I find much more troubling the attendant claims that Trump paid massive bribes and kickbacks in China and that he coordinated with Russian intelligence for years.
