This group is gonna be interesting as it has no really "weaker" team. I still think that the Netherlands and Argentina will move through, though.

I'm rooting (in my uninformed American way) for Cote d'Ivorie, because from what I've heard, they tend to get very bad reception from their homeland whenever they lose... I kinda feel sorry for them.

I believe Côte d'Ivoir will cause more trouble to Holland and Argentinia then Serbia&Montenegro, but I think the two favourites will still go trough.

I predicted in an another thread that Argentinia will win the World Cup, so hopefully they will do well :mischief:

Serbia is the weakest, though they're not weak. Tougher group indeed.

Serbia & Montenegro have played a good qualifier, but the oppenents are too strong. If Netherland and Argentinia playing as always, then they are the favourites. But I am sure, Côte d'Ivoir (Copy&Paste is useful ;) ) will wait for their chance to punish the first mistake.

especially if the place where you copy it from writes it wrong to begin with :mischief: ;)

but contrary to believe here, I don't think they're that strong, they should be no problem for teams who want to go far....

For sure. First half was a very, very interesting match.. although I couldn't get rid of the idea I was watching Championsleague haha! Both teams played really well, and tried to get the first goal. Argentina did get the upper hand after the first goal though. The second half was of course a lot worse, because Argentina focussed on defending and actually did a very good job. Too bad Drogba scored the 2-1.. I predicted 2-0 in all my prediction leagues. "(

The best game of the world cup so far ! :)

Well, I was fiercely supporting Côte d'Ivoire, which represents a lot to me, I'm rather sad they've lost... especially when I see how the referee helped Argentina to let the time get wasted in the end of the game. Anyway, Ivory Coast is a great team, I still hope they will do something, even if I know it's very hard to qualify once we've lost the first game... nothing is over yet. :)

Oh and by the way, Argentina has a great team this year.

Surely the best game so far, so much quality on the pitch. If only CIV knew how to score.

What I didn't like though was that time wasting and play acting by Argentina. Do they need to resort to this style? Eboue was the victim of that getting a yellow card. Overall, both teams showed great skill with the ball.
And, to my surprise I predicted corretly, though I would have loved CIV to equalise. They deserved it.

I also think this was clearly the best match so far and Argentina were the best team. The second half however was lacking compared with the first and Argentina were fine in it up to the 70th minute. What happened after that was unnecessary, much like England earlier in the day for most of their match.

If they didn't use every single possible questionable method to win the match, they would not be Argentina.

Argentinians will try to cheat even if they're winning 8x0. It's in their genes. And yes, this does apply to 100% of the argentines who ever lived, are alive, or will live in the future.

Well, a lot of Italian immigrants did move to Argentina in the 1910's... :mischief:
