We Need an Atheist Symbol!

My, for the religion that has arguably the most influence in the world, a country dedicated to it, and at the helm of some of the most powerful nations in the world, we're awfully insecure, aren't we?
No, I am just sick and tired of people who are intolerant of other people's religions and beliefs.

Suing people is not a way to solve problems. I'm seriously worried that many Americans have the mentality that people have an obligation to sue others if they feel that they have been wronged.

Hey its not me. Im just saying "someone" would sue them.

Don't you think that atheists feel that you are rubbing it in THEIR face when you say there IS a god? Your selective vision and arrogance is incredibly ironic.

I dont. I find that athiests are better arguers from my experience.

You cant argue that your religion is right ever.

That was mostly directed at a certain poster who directed the focus away from the OP to flaunt their religion against atheism.

Sorry, I dont rub my faith into your face. Its way different from telling and sharing people about your belief than forceing them to convert at the point of the katana. I share my beliefs in God and my Religion and I do expect people to respect my beliefs and faith and inturn respect their beliefs and faith. Its a two way street you know.

I am sorry but I dont flaunt my religion against atheism .

Well, from that perspective, aren't the atheists just sharing their beliefs?
I dont care if they say that they dont believe in God or share their beliefs. But the thing that rubs me the wrong way is if an atheist boldy and arrogantly tells me that there is no God to my face. Thats pushing their faith/belief in my face.

Well, since you are doing the same with Catholicisim/Shintoism/etc., thats quite a double standard, isn't it?

And I do not believe that atheists need a symbol, we are not sheep flocking to a shephard or symbol, we are reasoned thinkers that follow not the authoritarian symbolism of religion.

But doesnt that describe you?
What do you mean?

@McManus - Will you knock it off! I am already fallen and striking me while I am down is not right .

First of all, I am strictly a Catholic. Secondly, I don't boldly nor arrogantly tell you that there is a God. Unlike atheists that I know who boldly and arrogantly tell a religious poster/person that there is no God.

You seem to change that every week or so, so I wouldn't know. As for the second point, many of the members seem to disagree, I dunno.

Why should their be a symbol for atheism? Is it for identification purposes?
Do atheists need a symbol of their devition to their ideas?

Personaly, I dont think atheism in general needs a symbol. But atheist organizations do have symbols of their own.
The American Atheists has their own symbol for their organization.

The American Atheist logo, based on the atomic model. Officially, the letter 'A' in the middle stands for the country "America" and would in theory change for expansion into other countries. The open-ended vertical orbital signifies that all is not yet known - Wiki
