[We the People] Bug reporting

Sadly or luckily it doesn't crash for me. I see you saved using 4.0.1. I added a crash fix to 4.0.2 and I highly suspect that affects this. Please update. Since you are on 4.0.1 already, you can make do with the update from 4.0.1 zip.

The game is using 1.6 GB for me. You shouldn't encounter issues there, but I have to ask: are you using the disc version of Colonization?
If so have you patched it to use 4 GB of memory? It can be done using this tool. Steam and GOG are already patched for 4 GB of memory usage. Unpatched 32 bit games are limited to 2 GB of memory for historic reasons, which doesn't apply when using 64 bit windows and more than 4 GB of RAM.

Damn, that strange with the mod version number, I updated it to 4.0.2, but must have done something wrong - doing fresh install now to be sure

Running the Steam version (original_release_unsupported - beta).
Yeah never seen that error before either, doing a fresh install of game and mod, will see if it fixes things.

Is it intentional or a bug that Great General is not attaching to a Royal Artillery or Royal Dragoon(edit) but a Brave Lieutenant can? Checked Copedia for exceptions for Great General and did not see any.

I checked that. For me it worked for all Royal units - dragoons as well. But you are right, it seems not to work with Royal artillery.

I assume something might have went wrong when artilly has been changed to professions..maybe something for @raystuttgart because he has implemented the feature. Thanks for reporting.

[develop] Game locks on next turn, probably in some infinite loop. Has nothing to do with the achievement appearing right before the lockup (I tried removing the churches, the game still locks up.)
Seems to have something to do with the (automated) sloop currently located at Panama. If I cancel its movement order, the game can continue. And if I tell it to automate again (while it still has moves left), the game will lock up.

This might be caused by the following commit https://github.com/jo-oe/Civ4ColWTP/commit/fc14c26ab47cb6eeb3b8f1005fc0b34c417c5b17
It added bExportYield also for non-transportable yields like culture, health, etc. which have accidentally been added to the export lists in my settlements by "Auto Export All"

Weird. I remember exactly that I removed those "non-transportable" yields. I can't even imagine how they ended up on the list again)
thanks i will fix it.

Regardless of how it might be related to the freeze, changing the import/export code to only handle isCargo would make sense to avoid such current and future bugs.

It's supposed to change the desired goods when you trade with native villages but I've traded with different native villages several times without changing for different goods. On the 3rd attachment, I've traded horses 3 times in that village.

This isn't a bug per se, but piggybacking off of the dirie's post, is there a way to make the requested goods more visible? I had a hard time telling what some villages wanted in the previous version, and now there are about 50% more options.

It's supposed to change the desired goods when you trade with native villages ...
I just traded e.g. with Natives in a test game 100 gun powder (on Normal) and their desired good changed.
In another village that wanted Horses I have them 100 horses (on Normal) and their desired good changed.
So once you give them enough, everything should be fine. :)

------------

Theres goods are more desired than others:

- Weapons
- Horses
- Gunpowder

This however does not mean that you cannot sell anything else. :)
The "desired good" just gets a bonus on price and on Attitude effect once you trade.

And of course the desired good only changes once you gave them enough of what they wanted.
So if they e.g. want Gunpowder and you never deliver it or just do not give enough, it will always stay Gunpowder.

----------

But again:
I just tested and the desired good changed.
It may require however a certain amount to be traded before that happens.

Summary:
No bug found.

How much more visible than this should we make it ?

If you cannot see it, maybe your resolution is too high. :dunno:
Otherwise it is maybe just an issue with getting used to the new Icons.

Also there is the "Native Advisor Screen" (in Domestic Advisor) that tells you all of that. :dunno:
You can get an overview what all the Natives want and it allows to directly jump to the village.

You've mentioned game speed as well and I like to play on epic and marathon and I should have tested myself (on normal speed) before reporting a non issue.
Thanks for the detailed explanation and for this amazing mod, all of you.

Talking about trade with natives.. Why we cannot sell a specified amount of good to the natives? If I carry 300 guns... why I cant sell only 100 for example?

Could we PLEASE use the thread for bugs to actually discuss bugs and not questions?

For questions we have this thread here:

when natives offer me to buy native warriors/mercenaries I can't do it, having enough money, there is no option available.
