[We the People] Bug reporting

when natives offer me to buy native warriors/mercenaries I can't do it, having enough money, there is no option available.
Known issue. The answers are generated when the offer is made during the AI turn. If you sell stuff in Europe later, then the answer to buy will already be gone. This is a vanilla bug, which is hard to do anything about. That's not the same as we won't try.

(edit) Several entries needs fixed in Colopedia and I've open an issue tracker as well. Going to post it here so it will show up in search as known issues. I'll update the lists with new entries as I find them or made aware of

(edit) There are several entries under Goods and Materials that open a different entry than the one listed, or missing info

[✓] - Barley > plains link opens grassland
[✓] - Cattle > plains link opens prairie and the prairie link is not working
[✓] - Olives > plains link opens prairie
[✓] - Peanuts > plains link opens prairie
[✓] - Premium furs > taiga link opens Northern forest
  • Rapeseed > entry lacks a link to terrain and/or to rapeseed plants - here we need the help of translators (English, German, others)
  • Rapeseed oil > rapeseed link opens olives - bug not confirmed (may have been fixed before)
  • Upholstered furniture > it states it's made from leather but the upholster profession lists exotic wood and down as materials - bug not confirmed (may have been fixed before)
[✓] - Whale fat > sperm whales link is not working
[✓] - Wild birds feathers > wild birds link opens parrots (edit) - (boobies, Canada goose, ducks, gulls, loons, penguins and vultures missing)

(edit) I'm only showcasing the work of these wonderful modders (Mr ZorG in this instance). Thank you all for your work on this awesome mod!

Don't know if this counts as a bug and it certainly doesn't affect playability, but it looks like marine animals can spawn in ice :)

Fixed.
Also fixed another small bug in the spawning logic that I had stumbled upon.

@Tucker8 and @Kendon
Could you please check those entries?
Thanks in advance.

In map america Gigantic there is an error where a deciduous forest feature was applied to a shallow coast tile, this tile is in the extreme south of the map, it would be the area of Tierra del Fuego in Chile in reality. 10 tiles away from the end of the map to the south.

I am getting intermittant, unreproducible CTDs. Sometimes after playing for a few hours, sometimes a few minutes.

This would be somewhat less annoying if there was a way to may the game autosave a bit more regularly; is there an ini setting to increase the frequency to every turn?

EDIT: found it in the CivilizationIV.ini

Unsure if this is a bug or working as intended:

I just cleared an animal lair with a ranger, and I got the "you have angered the natives!" message and my ranger took a major hit to his health, as if he had instead cleared ancient ruins or a burial mound.

Unsure if this is a bug or working as intended:
It is neither a bug nor working as intendend.
But it is also not something easy to change in XML.

Is is simply currently possible by the Goody System since it is one of the "standard Goodies".
Unless somebody invests the effort to change it in DLL logic - meaning a few hours of effort.

Considering immersion:
Maybe these Wild Animals or their layer were sacred to the Natives.
(Personally I see no issue to immersion by what happened.)

I will check it out today.

edit: fixed.

Strange, this is the second time that somebody reports this picture.

Please provide more information so that we can have a look: Which unit is it? Do you have a savegame you can provide?

Probably a description bug.

(1) I assign Farmer.
(2) Next I click on that farmer and assign Farmer (Rice).

The description is incorrect.
The amount of food/rice production (in the lower left corner) works fine (8 rice + 4 food).

That bug is know when double klicking (only) and you already have the Profession.
Pretty hard to change - so we kind of decided to leave it since it has no impact on gameplay.

I also encountered this.
I've also been wondering, why does it say (3/3) for the Peat Cutter? It's something I've also seen in my game.

The numerator is how much of a resource a unit will produce in a given tile; the denominator is the maximum they could produce in any workable tile in the city

So it says 3/3 for Peat Cutter there because that would be the best possible tile in which to employ a unit as a peat cutter.

Ahh, thank you!

Domestic Advisor throws errors in Domestic Market after goods ascending/descending selection and scrolling horizontally, followed by game crash with runtime error. save file attached

Unfortunately, I don't still have it. It appears to be a sea creature - possibly the elusive Pinocchio Whale.
