[We the People] Bug reporting

I have an issue with the textures of the town guards, they are mostly colored in their nation color, like 95% of their model. So completely red, almost for the English e.g.
I'm running in 2560 if it helps. I would prefer to not lower my resolution or it will make textures blurry, plus alt tabbing will displace all my icons.
 
4.0.2. Not sure if this was mentioned but selecting the resources is wonky eg on the Europe/Africa/Port Royal buy/sell screens. Trying to select and dragging a resource right in the middle of it's icon/picture does not work. Instead you have to place the mouse cursor to the right of the icon/picture to select/drag it.
I notice that changing the resolution to 1920 x 1080 works for some people, but I still experience this at 1920 x 1080. The cursor changes from the grabbing hand to a regular cursor if it is exactly on the text for the yield, so you can't grab. It has nothing to do with left, right or above. It is the cursor being exactly on the text (yield number) that causes it.

Edit: I think this goes beyond resolution, because I have this bug with every resolution. What has changed about the way (city screen) text is displayed over the yield icon? It doesn't happen with version 3

Which resolution do you use? Issues like this usually depend heavily on the resolution.

Yeah I think you might be on to something. I played some more after that (reply) post and noticed there are still some weird issues with grabbing goods from the docks and even from the city screen. As I mentioned before I never these issues in 3.x.x..

You need to grab them above the numbers that display the amount of Yields produced / stored.
Sometimes these overlay the interactable area to drag and drop the goods.

You most likely downloaded the wrong archive.
Ther is one that just contains the source code and one that is actually meant for playing.

This is the link you need to download.
Then just follow the installation instructions. :thumbsup:

The last one is the key here. You didn't load CvGameCoreDLL.dll. There can be two reasons for this happening:
1: you downloaded the wrong file and Assets doesn't contain this file. GitHub adds a source file zip automatically and we can't prevent that.
2: you didn't run setup.bat to install the two dll files into the game folder.

All the other errors are a result of vanilla CvGameCoreDLL.dll trying to load our xml files. This means they should go away once CvGameCoreDLL.dll is loaded correctly.
 
where are the download instructions?
The install instructions are in side the mod folder in a text file calld "install instructions".
Just download the mod from the link I gave you, extract the folder and follow the instructions. :thumbsup:

i have had the same issue, finaly decided to restart a new game and deleted all saves.

Now i have a problem with ALL trading Naval ships promotions, can only get access to 5 in total, need to open world builder to had more if needed. this version have many bug issues..

After years of playing R&R I finally decided to try WTP, so I am wondering what is the current mod status?By that i generally mean stability of the mod?The great thing about R&R is that it almost never crashed, except when savegame was larger then 4 MB.

Basically just like RaR - it is in my opinion quite good. :)
The internal development branch is really stable.

However we just had a big giant feature release.
So we fixed a few small issues that were reported here and there.

WTP 4.1 should be out soon - @Nightinggale is still checking one bug report though.
So if you want to you can also wait until WTP 4.1 is published.
 
From time to time game forgets what values I put in Teacher list queue.I can't pinpoint when and why this happens.
Maybe during save game.
 
I had an issue with founding fathers in v4.0.2. I played a long game where most FFs were taken by Europeans, but when I wiped out 1 or 2 of the European powers, I wasn't able to get any of the freed FFs even though I had more than enough points to get them. I was simply not offered any, even though other AI players were grabbing them left and right.

I suspect the code with 1-FF-per-turn is doing something that conflicts with the system. It may be the case that the FFs that would have been offered to me that turn were offered to AI and were grabbed, but I wasn't offered the higher tier FF which was still available in that case, so that I could grab that one.

I could have a look at the logic that manages this and try to make sense of it - does anyone know which file to look at?
 
I have a theory currently about it as a start for first analysis. :think:
(Currently I think it may be related to some of the new Terrain Features I had implemented.)
This is a very good theory, I finally found a bit of time to test new version of the mod and in first campaign where I stick to basically only jungle terrain I didn't experience a single crash in about 500 turns, but in second playthrough with colony set in temperate area game has been terminated already about 6 times in like 50 turns. I'm glad it's resolved.

I know there are still efforts underway to identify and fix random crashes... I'm running the released 4.0.2 version and came upon this repeatable crash, perhaps this will help. To replicate, select Build Colony with the current Settler/Blacksmith stack and agree to pay the price to the natives. Reproduced multiple times. Selecting only the Settler, Build Colony and paying the price did not crash.

"There are more siblings than memory allocated for them in" and then a lot of XML info. About 40 errors.
