Well, there you go - The Great Socialist Paradise

That's pure genius. I'm definitely going to use that one in the future. Anyway, what exactly made you think I was not being rational?

Well Mr. President, I just didn't have too much time to explain, and I consider you are a clever person.

In Cuba there are many good writters, technicians, etc ... I have talked to many people from Cuba, and they are not stupid. Many of them disagree with Castro, and there are many disidents. There may be some indoctrination, but I just simply can't believe that you prefer knowing nothig (and nothing means nothing, not even read or write) than having an education like the cuban one.

What makes you think Castro is a benign dictator? Most opposition to his rule simply leave the country in the large Cuba community in the U.S. However, the recent rash of arrests have been at even more opposition. How many more people would speak out and stand up if they didn't risk imprisonment?
.

you got the wrong end of the stick there. i didnt say cuba was benine. i said the opposite, i said cuba was not benine, i may bot have worded it that well, but now that ive explained it again i hope u understand.

It should be obvious to any reasonable person that blame is placed on the United States for the situation of the Cubans in order to take their and others' minds off of a failed government with failed economic policies. We see the same thing in the Middle East, if something is wrong, blame America. It`s easy enough.

most people i meet on these forums always say "why blame the Us", "dont blame the US!" well maybe the US id the country that needs to be blamed for some of these things, fare enough, i'm not saying we should blame america for every single one of the worlds problems, but if it is americas fault and they are being blamed, at accept that it was your fault rather than shouting and bawling about everyone always blaming america.

and yes to Jorge last point. i have met many cuban online sometimes aswell, they are quite intelligent and many of them do speak out againt the government. And in the past many people have spoken out againt the government publicly, The majority of people who do speak out dont acctually go to prison.

You know, test, you are so right, Cuba would still be or would have been owned well into the 20th Century by Spain if we didn`t provide American power to liberate them. Colombia, heh, can anyone figure them out? As for Venezuela and Guatamala, there is no wrong in using influence in your region to affect the outcome of events in your favor. People do it all of the time. That doesn`t mean everyone else loses all responsibility to the matter.

That is exactly the problem in many regions of the world. The US (and people who defend everything the US do) think a US occupation is equal to "liberation". What would you think if some other country took over the US, claiming that they liberated you? Ridiculous.

I doubt that the Cubans had such a good life under the Spanish, that they did not want any change, nevertheless a US invasion isn't always a good thing.

Influence might be a good thing, but only if it is used to an extent acceptable in international relations. Staging a coup d'etat is not one of the international accpeted influences. (Sure a lot of other countries did it, but you don't compare the US with the USSR, Cuba etc. on other things, so why start here?)
