Darkest Day usually. any recommendations? :)

Well, here's a list of mods i usually play with, or which i plan to give a try:

  • Ascension
Improves the final Throne of Bhaal battle a lot, both from a story and a tactical perspective.
  • Tactics
Add some new encounters, and make existing ones more challenging. Easily my favourite mod. Beware of 'Improved Ilyich' - it's insanely difficult!
  • Dungeon Be Gone
Lets you skip the start dungeon. I usually use this, if i don't try my hands on 'Improved Ilyich' (and usually get them burned!).
  • Unfinished Business
Haven't tried this one yet. It aims to bring back content, which was left unfinished by the developers.
  • Ease of Use
Tweaks that make the game more convenient. Infinite stacks, for instance. Some parts might be considered cheats, but you can select which ones you want to install.

There's also a huge amount of companion mods out there. Some aim to bring BG1 NPCs back into BG2. Their quality varies, though, and i have enough trouble already with having to chose between the NPCs available in the vanilla game, so i don't bother with them. I hear Solaufein and Kelsey are amongst the better ones.
Oh, and all of these mods are compatible with another, thanks to the ingenious weidu tool.

If you have BG1, i recommend BG Tutu. It lets you play BG1 with the BG2 engine (and classes, spells, etc).

Like i said in the other "What are you playing" thread - i'm playing Silent Hill 2.

lots of Fall from Heaven 2 (Civ4 mod)
couple hours a week of Poker
a little Battlefield 2
and some Diablo II

Every once in a while I play a Zelda Classic mod called Hero of Dreams.
Zelda Classic is a free and legal PC game based on Nintendo's Legend of Zelda.
There are multiple versions of it and there are many many mods for them.

Hearts of Iron 2: Armageddon, I have yet to get a computer that plays any other game.
Fallout 2

Civ 4 BTS
Battlefield 2142
F.E.A.R
Far Cry

Those are the games I've been playing.

Civilization 4 BTS, God of War 1 and 2, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, GTA 3, and Ratchet and Clank. I am looking forward to God of War 3 when they make it. I cant wait to play GTA 4 and Super Mario Galaxy.

gratz on a deck you never will be able to play in a tournament. type I is so 1998. best you can do with that is to annoy some friends. fun!

PS: anything that has no ability to kill on turn ONE in legacy (type I) is a slow deck. turn 3 kill? are you playing somebody in standard with some show-off cards to get a kick?

Yea, the black deck is just to set a standard (albiet unfair). If you can beat that deck (even 1/6), you have a shot against anything. There was a time when that deck was legal :)

The combilands deck is legal. Fork + Fireball + 'trade your hps for damage' (i forget name of card) = ? You need a couple mana for the fireball and fork, the rest comes from your hps. Because it is a 20 combiland deck, you have a decent shot at the red and green mana needed to combine the fork_fireball with a 'hps exchange'. There are other ways that deck can win inside turn 8.

Legacy (type I), I have no idea what you are talking about. My decks are from ~1995 and I haven't played since.

If you'd like to know exactly what cards I'm talking about, you can PM me and I'll find em and list em.

ps. There's a reason that ancestral recall is worth $200. It's not just for show - it's functional. All of my cards are from standard cardpacks that I bought (and from trading). The combilands are worth 20 each, again, because of function as well as collectability. My friend that worked for wizards has a deck with every mox gem.

I loved the game Magic the Gathering but the blasted bs of who has the most money to buy the best deck ruined it all for me. I played closed deck tourneys for a few years and that was fun for we all were based on random deck draws. I've won more than my fair share of those and have extra cards and oversized promo cards such as Serra Angel and Chaos Orb for my troubles. And Ive a few WOTC special edition cards for simply playing. I loved that game but I hated it due to the fact that he who had the most rares in deck had the better odds. Closed decked tourneys rule. And when you play the pre-release tourneys you also get a collectors special edition card.... but who really believes those will be worth a dime eh?

With friends playing post ice age I loved my red green weenie deck. I could reliably field so many weak summons that I overran the best of decks before they could draw enough cards to counter. I also had some kick ass blue black decks but it was my green weenie reds that most often pwned my friends decks and won me free cards.

I've also got a few other specialized decks which incorporate my gold cards and multi mana to more effect including a focus on no mana things and rainbow decks. But the red green weenie machine has so far taken them all down. I'd love to play the game again but none of my reallife friends are into it. Even when I have offered my extensive library for them to choose from. I think MTG greed has really destroyed them in so far as growth is concerned. If to play the game you have to keep on buying ever new release to be competitive then the future is lost. Their greed is their undoing.

I'm currently playing Earth 2150 and Galatic Civilizations. I've finished the ED Campaing n Earth 2150 these days, now ON TO THE UCS!!

Hide the sausage. (I beat all you funny feckers to it this time!!! Arrrr!!!)

And a bit of Civ4 BTS.
At the same time?
Never, ever, ever, underestimate the multi-tasking powers of Mr Rambuchan :smug:

Oh ya and Civ3, probably soon using the RotM scenario mod you created. H
I needn't tell you what else I was doing while I devised that scenario :groucho:

I don't play BTS or Civ4 since they fracked it up so badly. But the mod FfH2 does
bring enough to the game that I at least am glad I purchased that firaxian piece of dung.
