I just discovered the brilliant Postmodern Jukebox. I know, I know, "welcome to 2010."

If you haven't seen it before, Postmodern Jukebox rearranges modern pop songs in the styles of the 1920s, '30s, '40s & '50s.

Thanks, Egon. This surrealistic blend seems highly appropriate in today's world gone mad. :yeah:

They could use some zoot suits tho.

FEAR on Saturday Night Live, October 31st, 1981.

John Belushi was a fan of the band, and got them onto the show, and they brought a few dozen hardcore kids from Washington DC and NYC with them to, ahem, liven things up. At the conclusion of "New York's Alright (If You Like Saxophones)", you can hear someone shout "New York sucks!" - according to legend, that was Ian MacKaye of The Teen Idles, Minor Threat and Fugazi. Also reputedly in the mosh-pit were Tesco Vee of The Meatmen, John Brannon of Negative Approach, and Harley Flanagan of The Cro-Mags. Brannon supposedly got the f-word onto live television, although I can't make it out.

At the end of the video, singer Lee Ving says "This is for Republicans and Democrats alike" as the band starts to play "Let's Have a War." (Some things don't change much, eh?) The reason the video here doesn't include the rest of that song is because the show's producer literally pulled the plug, cut the singer's mic, sent the show to commercial, and had the whole lot of them - band and moshpit kids alike - locked in the Green Room for the remainder of the show. FEAR became one of the few bands to earn a lifetime ban from the show.

This is the Champ right here inside and outside the octagon, 29-0, I'm really glad that he is retired, and what happened today is just speechless.

For some reason the YouTube feed which I carefully curated over the last half-decade has been cleared. It is a tree that has been hewn down too soon.

Now I have seeded a new one and need to water it.

Nice find, Boomer!
Some of their musicians even branch out and cover songs from the 2000's.

Some people have way too much time on their hands

He shouldn't be allowed to have this first name.
Only myself and "El Greco".

This reminds me of "PG Porn." Nathan Fillion does an awesome impression of bad acting. There's a moment where he looks down at the floor for his mark and moves over a few inches that just slays me.

Hayley Reinhart and her father perform at Chess Records this past summer, a cover of Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Way Home" and an original song.
