I'm not sure if I ventured here when I played civ3, I did try out some mods back then, but I'm not sure where did I get them from. But I think I did came here a couple of times. I wasn't an internets person back then, I didn't even own a PC (played at my cousins), so I might have just as well been here several times and didn't actually pay attention as to where I was.
The first "actual" memories of CFC are of me looking once again for mods for civ4 when I finally decided to get a PC (a turning point in my life, for better or for worse

), once BTS was already out. First mods, then gradually looking for tips etc. It took me a while before I figured that I actually could register and ask stuff MYSELF instead.

Didn't actually venture off of civ4 and mods download section at that time plus a while after registration.
Gradually started to be more active, found off-topic and the crazy fact that there are actually people who live in off-topic section, never even posting in game sections and even those who don't even play the game anymore. Then I got addicted to off-topic myself for a while until my CFC hype died out and I switched to resurfacing for a while once an expansion or game is announced and released.
There is just something I cannot explain about the atmosphere and community here that is... just... right. So much more than gaming forum. When I tried other forums not related to civ, it just wasn't right, even though civ doesn't have anything to do with topics at hand, they just weren't the same. It is as if I only cared for post or conversations of/with people that appreciate civ.
Not sure if anyone understands me on this. My friends etc. are puzzled once in a while, as to why I spend so much time here, saying I really am a "fanatic", and what is it with CFC that I bother visiting. They just don't know.
