What is Life?

And logically there must be connecting link between the existence of the supposed Multiverse and human consciousness.

Whoa.. whoa..

hold on a sec, that's a huge jump in logic. How'd you get from A to B?

I see assumption upon assumption upon assumption. Which is fun of course. But it doesn't provide much insight.

Still, even going with all the assumptions I still can't see why praying would be in order.

Or could you mean communication in general?

I think that praying is potentially very dangerous due to creating instability (if one has something to pray to, it follows that potentially he will experience a religious epiphany/related as a result in the future, which was caused by the complicated mental phenomenon of praying to something in your own mental world).

Some people, obviously, even killed others because the deity told them too. I am sure those were a tiny minority, but praying can have other sorts of drastic effects too (mentally, at least).

Then again, in theory (ie i doubt it is true, but who knows) one might communicate with something external through prayer. Personally i find it a bad move, but i only know a significant part of my own mental world.

It helps keep some of us sane.

We might have different conceptions of what 'prayer' is, because I see your connecting dots between the multiverse and consciousness, but not why we'd then be encouraged to pray to the Multiverse.

Prayer cant be nothing but a form of communication. Its only becouse of the colouring of human consciousness and its limitation that we see it/ use it particular way. Human consciousness is self-conscious in limited way but can imagine/aspire to infinite in the same time. It identifies itself with limited reality not with the infinite but in some way it may feel compulsion to reach out to the infinite and then it does so out of its ignorance as a kind of beggar....
