what is the history behind ur CFC name?

When I was a kid, after watching Smokey and the Bandit, I asked my parents if they had handles during the CB craze (they were teenagers back then). They did and I wondered to myself what would I choose as a handle if I lived back then. (I think to myself alot.) I absorb a lot of knowledge and spew it out chaotically, just as a tornado does matter. Hence Vortex. I then made that the name of my imaginary alter ego whom I've kept with me ever since. When registering for Hotmail, I decided that instead of attaching a number to my alter ego's name, I remembered his origens (tornado) and created Cloudyvortex. Now, aren't we sorry we asked?:D

My name is Anthony Norris. For short, I made my e-mail account name AnthoNarz. So Narz is simply an abbreviation of my last name, plus it sounds cool. :)

- Narz :king:

No real reason behind my name... I just though 'Octavian' was a cool, Roman name. I kinda like the Romans.

The 'X' part, though, that's a different story. As I'm sure some of you have heard, some idiot signed up under the name 'Octavian' 6 days before I joined. He's never posted. X is the Roman numeral for ten, thus Octavian the Tenth.

Switch625 is the name of a Def Leppard song. I like the song, so I use it as my internet handle. I have no clue how they came up with that name.

There is another person out there who uses "switch625" as a handle, but they don't capitalize it. That's the way to tell the difference between us.

Well, mine's because I (used to) play on chieftain level alot. :)

I couldn't think of a name so I just took something from Civ III. The pillage action was the first to come into my head.

I once had a handle which was simply an abbreviation of my real life name. I wanted to chg my username into something more unique. Couldn't decide between Knight-something or Dragon-something. In the end, just combined both and saved all the hassle. :)

I always thought of an unique nick of mine..
Ok my intitials are H.P. and years ago I nicked myself simply "HP"

Then in a boring bio-course lesson, I noticed that "8ch" is pronounced like "H" in english.
Sidenote: My native language is German

Then I searched of a cool expression of "P". In German the mathematical "Pie" (3.14.....) is written "Pi" and pronounced like the English "P".
If you look onto my homepage for example, you will notice all the Pies there...

So I had my nick: "8chPi". But becuase in many internet-accounts your name must not begin with a number, but with a letter, I'm using "pi8ch" as well.

So: pi8ch == 8chpi == HP == PH == my initials

BTW: If you type "8chpi" or "pi8ch" in google - only sites which are related to me in some way will be shown! That's realy cool to be unique!

That's very creative. Reminds me of this I once saw:
PHOCH = Fish
PH (as in Pharoah) O (as in women) CH as in (Chandalier)
Phoenetics can be fun! I AM NOT HOOKED ON PHONICS SO DONT THINK ABOUT POSTING SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

to pesoloco
My girlfirend goes by the nick "gatitaloco".. I always considered your nick to mean "cracy pesos" :goodjob:

the "Ovi" is short for the swiss chocolate drink "Ovomaltine". I had a somewhat embarassing encounter with that drink back at school (but I still like it) so that name kind of stuck to me.

The Kaeptn (Captain) was attached later by some of my friends due to our participation at the "Red Bull Flugtag" where I got the honor to be the Kaeptn of the UHU (Owl).

I was lazy and couldn't come up with anything original. I was reading the wheel of time series at the time and viola.

The 'Wild Weasel' was the ultimate power up in a game I loved as a kid, Black Hawk on the Commodore 64. That name in turn came from a variant of the F4 Phantom used in Vietnam and the pilots who flew them. The Wild Weasels were highly skilled pilots whose mission it was to act as SAM magnets to protect a main force of attack aircraft. What amazes me about this is that, whilst all professional combatants accept that there's going to be
someone out there shooting at them, the Weasels' job was to present themselves as at target and to goad the enemy into using expensive munitions on them in the expectation that they had the skill and the aircraft to come back alive.

The 'jpowers' was a standard of Persian statesmanship that had to be obtained before a bureaucrat was allowed to undertake a foreign mission.

Just kidding - it's my name...
